ASUS P6X58D-E ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: none

Pros: Good board layout, documentation, USB 3.0 and SATA 6G
Comment:
This was my first build from scratch so I wanted a good board that is fast and reliable. I did my due diligence and came up with this board. I have to say that I am thrilled. I bought all the related parts which were available for pickup the same day I ordered - I like that, hate to wait you know...The installation was a snap, and it is filled with 2xSSID, 2xSATA 6, 2xSATA 2, and one each of BD & DVD Writers. All the Drives are RAID 1. Installed a speedy Intel i7 quad core processor and once all was hooked up, turned it on and it worked just like it is supposed to. I applied the don't put on the cover rule till first turned on to ensure success of course. All said, this is a great board and the boot time is fantastic. I can't really imagine what else you would need, and I am very pleased with this new build!

ASUS P6X58D-E ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: No IDE spot if you have an older dvd burner.

Pros: Asus TurboV lets you OC pretty much everything without leaving the OS.
Comment:
Lots of OC tweeking options whether you want to set them in the BIOS or just go on the fly with the TurboV app. Well laid out board and was easy to put together.Strange tho that the board has two PS/2 connections but no IDE for DVD burner.

ASUS P6X58D-E ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: Price

Pros: AsusOC capability
Comment:
Was debating between this and the Sabertooth to pair with my i7 960. I ended up going with this for the overclocking features and could not be happier. Played around with OCing my CPU and RAM before reverting everything back to default settings for longevity. If you plan on OCing an i7 in the future then this is the board to get. Otherwise, get the cheaper Sabertooth.

ASUS P6X58D-E ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: None so far.

Pros: Doesn't feel like you'll break it, Best layout I've had in a MB, ..... Best layout I've had in a MB. lol.
Comment:
I have just completed the single nicest looking build I've done yet... SO pretty! Aside from the great cable management of the HAF 932 case it's in, much of the credit goes to the ASUS. The layout is perfection. All the cords are hidden because of this. Also, even with a massive Noctua on it, you could fit 6 sticks of RAM that were a foot tall. BIOS features are great as usual with ASUS. I've always had ASUS MBs but almost went with the Giga Ud3R this time. Glad I got this.

ASUS P6X58D-E ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: Things were a bit cramped when I was installing my tower heatsink. Did not come with beer.

Pros: Great overclocking tools makes performance tweaking a breeze.Lots of features.Great price for the quality.
Comment:
Bought this board for my first custom build and I could not be bappier. Other than the third party heatsink for my i7 (which, to be fair, is a freakin' skyscraper) installation was a piece of cake. The speed claims Asus makes about this thing are not an exaggeration, it is bloody quick. Great price for the quality and features this thing gives you. Although I'm a programmer by trade, I was a complete beginner to the hardware side of computers when I started this build and even to someone like me who's still learning, the overclocking, etc. features are very easy to use. Highly recommended.A note to any other first custom-builders:As a bit of a noob, I had never even heard of a motherboard with a power (and reset) button like this one has. So, before you try to power on the whole rig and freak out because nothing's happening like I did, make sure you press the power button on the board and wait a couple seconds for the little red LED to turn on so you know that the it's up and running.

I've been running this motherboard for about a week now and I have no complaints. This motherboard is a good deal for the price, especially if you catch it on sale. It has USB 3.0 and is SLI ready if you want to add another card down the road.

Cons: None yet.

Pros: Just as good if not better than higher priced Asus PX58D Premium MB.
Comment:
This MB is great for overclocking. I'm using the MB in a HAF-X case with an Intel Core i7 930 overclocked to 4.2 ghz. Also using 6GB Mushkin Ridgeback 998826 at 6-8-6-24. Will soon be taking advantage of the 6.0gb/s SATA controller using a Crucial c300 SSD.

ASUS P6X58D-E ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: Not many. You will lose the PCI slots with double slot SLI set ups, but that's the same with most boards. No IDE or floppy connectors, but not many users this board is aimed at will even notice.

Pros: Very simple overclocking and cool temperature board. Q-connectors a nice touch. On-board power button convenient for anyone using a test bench. I/O plate CMOS clear button is awesome. Native USB 3.0
Comment:
I am extremely happy with this board, solid, reliable, easy to work with and an excellent performer. Recommend a BIOS flash to anyone have memory issues. Though underutilized thus far, the native USB 3.0 support is a nice futureproofer.
