Documentation is fantastic (*not great but great) Like all new style Intel sockets, you can bend pins without having even being aware of it. Dang I mean appear at em wrong and they are bent...So it is with good amounts of humble pie I consume crow and apologize to Asus help for the static I gave them. With a high powered magnifier I looked at the pins and found that purchase pushing a tiny and I Imply A Little to difficult on the STOCK heat sync, I bent a essential pin to the memory controller interface of the CPU/board interconnect. I had a couple of detailed concerns and attempted to reach telephone assistance four instances. I got thru 1 out of four. I was asked to leave my name and phone number 3 other instances and my contact would be returned. No calls had been ever returned. If you are new to Computer creating, this firm might not be for you.

Easy install. Innumerable overclocking options. Compact size. Lots of extras that you'd anticipate on a premium board. The rebate is good. Asus manuals are the very best. Rock stable. Shipped with the most up-to-date BIOS. Integrated software essentially performs. A minor carp: The external CMOS reset button doesn't protrude far enough through the I/O shield. I needed to use a paper clip to do this. No native floppy help but I have a USB floppy drive for that. In all probability the highest high quality board I've owned.

Flash BIOS from windows, back up ROM by means of flash drive. Good energy saving utility. Haven't tried it, but overclocking from windows solution as well. As well a lot fluff for my taste. I don't like the mini-GUI it comes with, but I was able to turn off NP. My initial ASUS board, I am happy so far.

Nice board with a lot of future proofing capability None I hold seeing this at each and every internet site that sells this board. When I got the p6x58d premium I had three sticks of 2gb ram and only 4gb had been showing up. On my make I have a heavy cpu cooler that calls for a backplate(metal) to reinforce the motherboard. Just after sending the motherboard back to newegg and obtaining the exact identical predicament with the new one they sent me I thought it may be the cpu, motherboard, or ram. Just by possibility I saw on-line that a person had the very same predicament and fixed it by putting electrical tape on the feet of the backplate for the cpu cooler. Just after undertaking this a year ago my personal computer has recognized all six gigs of ram and has run smoothly ever since. In CPU-Z before taping the backplate the voltage was fluctuating drastically when not running applications and soon after placing the electrical tape on the backplate of the cpu cooler the voltage held steady. At least my case shows the backplate(metal) can quick out the motherboard.

Strong create, layed-out nicely, overwhelming overclocking functions. It's been operating nearly 24ǝ since built about 5 months ago. Often I'll get a 20-30 second pause involving POST and Win 7 32bit begin-up screen on cold start off but not when restarted. I blame the 6 HDD's & 2 ODD's but can't say for confident. The white SATA connections are RAID0 only...I would like to decide on the config of my comp myself. Not sufficient to take an egg off for although, what I must take an egg off for but won't simply because it's nothing to do with the board - just the ASUS Co. themselves...The rebate is a SCAM! I got an e-mail with a link exactly where I could view every little thing I submitted...even the envelope. It's all there as requested and submitted prompt and right. Two days later I got a rebate denied e mail. I known as the next week and was told to fax my copies (yes, I took the time to make copies as I've been given the "run-around" prior to) so I did and received Nothing. All inquiries after that, generally, said it was as well late - the submission date ended - but my original submission wasn't late, was right, and was re-submitted by fax. Really like the board, dislike the company's rebate service quite considerably - don't let a rebate sway you from an additional brand.i7 920 D0 @ 3.4 air cooled below a Cooler Master Hyper 212 mounted horizontal to pull air from the side 120mm and push out the best 200mm in a Antec 900 Two w/all fans on low - limited by the Corsair DDR3 1600 RAM. The board is loaded with characteristics. My present setup is with a Intel i7-970 6 core processor, 12gb Corsair DDR3 1600 RAM, 1 Intel 160SSD, two WD Black 1TB (RAID 1), 1 WD Green 2 TB, 1 LG BD-RE, Nvidia GTX 460 Card, Corsair 750 PSU, with Windows 7 Ultimate. I have had a couple of issues. 1st is with the RAM. I am having the very same situation as quite a few other folks with Windows seeing all of the RAM installed. I have 12GB installed, Windows generally only sees 8GB, often 12GB, sometimes 10GB. I have gone by means of all the settings, set bios to XMP, attempted a couple of configurations, absolutely nothing appears to hold 12GB. That was my major disappointment because the programs I use are very RAM intensive. 2nd, There are troubles with the Marvell 91xx driver for the SATA 6. ports. After I put in Windows 7 Ult. and installed the 91xx driver, I started getting random BSOD memory file dumps. Immediately after I did some debugging, the situation came from the Marvell 91xx driver. I uninstalled the driver and used the windows driver and I haven't had a problem given that. Bottom line, ASUS wants to figure out the RAM problem with this board. Even BIOS updates don't solve the problem. Also, the other main purpose I got the board (SATA 6.), doesn't operate with the updated drivers. I guess a lot of people have had concerns with Marvell drivers as a whole, even for LAN. I have been selling ASUS computers for a while now it seems like they are slipping with there reliability and their consumer help. I ought to have just got a cheaper board if the new attributes don't perform. Hopefully the USB 3. functions, I have but to attempt that out.

It worked with out any concerns and am rather happy with it general. 2 Quirks though 1) Had concerns with the ram, it was listed in the manual as getting compatible for 12GB. But it only showed eight. I messed about the bios/overclocking and then it abruptly began displaying the 12GB. Reset every little thing back to default and the 12GB still shows and operates.2) The marvel controller stopped functioning about two-three months ago. 1 day the entire technique died and my sataIII disks would not be recognized by the technique. Moved them to sataII ports and every little thing was still safe and operating on the drives. Do some googling at the time and it looks like the marvel sata III chipsets are not the greatest. I was an asus user for years, then my final Pc just before this i went with gigabyte. Regretted it.

It has the necessities. I trust Asus as a excellent brand. It only has two SATA 6 Gb/s ports. It can\'t run 12GB DDR3 1600 MHz memory with eight-eight-eight-24 timing. My P6T Deluxe V2 can do that with no a challenge. The Memory top quality vendor list is outdated and consequently useless. Choose your memory very carefully when utilizing this mobo.I would recommend going to the new mobos now that they are fixed (B3 revision). They are about the same price and will be considerably quicker, even although they are only dual channel.

seems like a stunning board; has a lot of advanced capabilities in bios based on the manual, ai tweak and lot expansion capabilities with the usb slots ƒ usb 3) and 3 pci express 16x slots ƒ that can operate at 16x, 1 at 8x) I have to rma it mainly because it will not POST. The dram_led stays on regularly on energy up (red colour led) in spite of attempting different combinations of the triple channel OCZ3G1600LV6GK also bought from newegg. IT doesnt supply any error code that indicates its the memory though, and even devoid of memory that led stays on continuously.I am hoping i can get a functional board on the replacement. This is my first create and i am concernedlack of integrated graphics to help in the testing procedure is disappointing also, but i comprehend these boards are built for gaming/ oc. I have a seasonic x750 power provide that i tested, and works. Bought from newegg. As nicely as an asus gtx 470 graphics card.

It's been several years due to the fact I built a method, and although I read at leangth about all the major makers, ASUS won out from my expereince and reviews. I wasn't disappointed. The MB is properly created, came with plenty of parts in extremely good packaging, and looks amazing. The manual is succinct, but everything is obviously explained and illustrated. The BIOS is clear, and nicely organized, even though my OC experinece is nil. What I realzied is that the ASUS item is unnotable ebcause everythign is just completed appropriate, so absolutely nothing stands out.Simply because of problems with teh HAF X case I purchased wfor this create, I had the opportunity to chat with SASUS tech assistance and was extremely impressed with their accessibility and private focus. Handful of businesses handle to be around so extended and have their client service be maintained at such a higher level. None . . . properly, maybe it need to automatically OC to 8GHz and butter my toast. As usual, Newegg is awsome.

Quite a few good functions. Stable board. Audio chip failed soon after a handful of weeks. Had to reinstall the OS but to no avail. Asus Tach Help has restricted hours. The consumer service rep. I talked to this morning was a joke; she couldn't even comprehend the RMA e-mail Asus had sent me, let alone support me set up an adance RMA. She wasted much more than 30 minutes if my time. I was one of the initial adopter of this board. I had raved about it and gave it a 5-egg evaluation in November 2009.

If you look at the spec, it appears to be function rich - incl. SATA III, USB 3. support. The most significant disappointment came when I put with each other all my components, which include Intel Core i7-950, two sets of Corsair Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D 3x2G (all with each other 12GB). The BIOS only recognized 8GB. I then spent quite a few hours attempting to set numerous voltage settings, plug/unplug RAMs, and it nevertheless only detected 8GB. I did a search online, and identified huge amount of people today getting the precise symptom as mine.I doubt exchanging the board will repair the issue. Plus, it will waste some significantly much more time and I will be without a machine for 2 weeks. So I will reside with 8GB for now, knowing that I have 12GB plugged in the method. Don't acquire this motherboard. It's got critical complications. In the future, I will not get motherboard and memory on the web any longer. It's so simple to have compatibility troubles. It could be enormous time waster.

It functions wonderful as a paper weight. It is a incredibly pricey paper weight. Upon power up, the board did not POST or respond to the outside planet. There had been no beeps, video, or other indicators of life beyond the lights and fans on the motherboard. The only "power" and "reset" buttons that worked were on the power supply. The "MemOK" and "BIOS Reset" buttons did absolutely nothing to resolve the concern. DOA. I relied also considerably on the "Customer Option" award rating when purchasing this product. I ought to have read the evaluations and fine "this purchase is non refundable" print on this product. Newegg does not do refunds on defective "non refundable" items. I am now stuck waiting 2+ weeks for an additional "possible DOA" replacement board from the RMA procedure. Provided the substantial quantity of negative evaluations and experiences, I am not as well optimistic about the outcome of the replacement board. I will think twice just before ordering from ASUS or Newegg once again.

Hauls; lots of I/O; wonderful layout although No RAID through Marvell 6GB SATA ports (almost knocked it down an Egg for that); wish it had a Firewire 800 port. I'll never ever be a fan of SATA ports on the edge of and in parallel with the mobo, which this board has six of. And only 4 of the board-edge SATA ports are hanging off the Intel controller; the other two are off the Marvell controller. Why didn't they place all six of the Intels on the board edge, and then have the Marvells mounted vertically? (And how come no one - to incorporate ASUS - puts the port number on the best port of the paired board edge SATA ports?). Runs fantastic, overclocking is a breeze.Additional logical placement of SATA ports than usual for ASUS boards. Soon after a few months, I began possessing concerns with USB devices getting detected on boot. Can be fixed by shuffling USB ports repeatedly. Board requirements to be RMA'd at some point.Premium board is overpriced in relation to the "lesser" board. No point in finding the Premium board unless you definitely need the further ethernet connection. I develop computers for a living and use the P6X58D-E board as an alternative and save the cash.

Extremely easy to perform with, outstanding attributes, manual its quite valuable NON!!! just one, if you are like me, and like to add a 3.5 inch mounted card reader for SD's/CF/MD/MS/PRO/SM/MMC and so on, you cant, as far as I tried, there's no where to hook up a single, thats why its not at cons, due to the fact its a plus, its not genuinely necessary.

-A great board at the time I purchased it. Packed with a lot of features, and an desirable layout.-Plug and play installation for me. No overclocking, didn't have to mess with the BIOS hardly at all apart from the usual.-ASUS. Haven't let me down nevertheless.-SATAIII, USB3.-6mo continuous on stable operation. Survived a number of component upgrade cycles, board is maintaining up with tech even though in all probability not for considerably longer -When running SLI, the two cards are so close to every other there is literally 1ǚ" space between them. I wish the PCIe16x slots had been spaced farther apart. -The Rear I/O panel proved tough for me to install for some cause.-According to what I've read, I don't believe you can RAID the SATAIII ports on this mobo-I lost use of the onboard optical HD audio port. It just gave up the ghost 1 day. Not sure if it is a driver conflict, or literal hardware failure. I attempt to resolve it driver side with no luck. Could also be my Logitech speakers, I do not have yet another optical audio device readily available to properly troubleshoot this difficulty. I am running Bose desktop speakers through the common jack for now. When I bought this board it was one particular of the really couple of, if not the only one particular, in this price range that had SATAIII and USB3.. Now, 6mo later I'm desiring a CPU upgrade to a 6-core 990x (from the 930 I employed when constructing it originally) and much to my surprise, I will not have to upgrade the mobo! I guess 'future-proof' in fact worked for me for after.-The cause why I gave this board 4 eggs rather of 5 is due to the fact it's old, now. If you are purchasing a brand new mobo right now I consider there are better selections for the very same funds. The Rampage boards, for instance. I would attempt to uncover a board with far more space for PCIe boards if you feel theres even a slight chance you might run an SLI setup in the future. If I were to buy a new board now, I would also be looking for one particular with additional than 2xSATAIII and 2xUSB3.

This is my 2nd board for a 2nd personal computer. It’s a good board when the customer receives one particular that operates. This certain board that I am reviewing on had to be RMA’d mainly because one of the LAN ports did not operate. Yes, I could deal with a single LAN port, but Each are supposed to operate! Otherwise, it can be a good board. I named Asus Tech Help and could not get by means of. I hung up following a 90 minute wait on the telephone. Asus states they will call back, but the fact is, THEY DON’T; therefore, THEY LIE. Newegg accepted the return being that the board was in my possession for only three weeks or maybe a custom of quite a few years. Thank you Newegg. The 1st board I purchased one particular year ago had a failed memory bank. When Asus lastly realized that the memory was not the difficulty, they INSISTED that the Intel processor was the issue. Intel was gracious enough to grant me a replacement processor. Thank you Intel. When I installed the replacement processor; still, only 3 GB of the four GB installed sticks was recognized by the board. Lastly, Asus Tech Support agreed to replace the board. Considering that then, the 1st board has worked well. The bottom line and my low rating is about Asus Tech Help; defective, deficient, rude, and arrogant. A quality physical device demands to have the right human element to make a excellent solution. Asus Tech Assistance desires to conduct themselves responsibly and accept the truth that their product can and does have issues. I ought to not have to be responsible for the ย.00 further shipping charge (on 2 boards) and the 1 month further wait for a defective solution courtesy of Asus. I am thankful for competition.
