It's got lots of attributes for upgrading. Can't RAID from sata3. It has 6 ram slots, but it will only recognize triple channel ram from the B slots.

superior specs (on paper!) 1st motherboard received would not POSTit was returned and replacedThe replacement mobo would not POST either!- on the net forums indicating numerous people today with same difficulty. Was there a poor production run of ASUS motherboards? I don't know, but right after 2nd return, I ordered a Gigabyte - really should have done that to start with! Newegg was useful and efficient at processessing RMA's, but you still can't get about the aggravation of going via the shipping hassles!

This is a fantastic MB and it shows...but this mb is last years and it shows. WARNING The 6gb ports are not configurable for raid volumes , only 3gbps ports can be set up for raid. If you want as I did to use the 6gb for raid fon your ssd then get another board. I was wanting to get the next gen mb with the uefi (seemed to be only lga 1155 but all have been pulled) I am starting to regret not waiting.

Solid create excellent and extremely good lay out. Handles my i7 920 simply and having usb 3. is a key bonus. Has a lot of space to expand out and could quickly deal with two bigger graphics cards like a GTX 470. Memory concerns. It doesn't like to read all of my RAM for some reason. CPU-ID see's all 12GB I have in it, but my BIOS and Windows only recognize 8GB of it. Supposedly it can be worked about but have but to find a resolution to it. Random crashes from time to time. Overall it is a wonderful item, just not best. The RAM recognition hasn't affected my efficiency, but is a nagging problem that I just discover unacceptable. I think it is a very good board, but if I did almost everything over once more I'd go EVGA for client assistance alone.

- simple installation - detailed manual- lots of BIOS possibilities - MARVELL RAID setup/option is not visible in the Intel Matrox (now called Rapid Storage Technology) Memory setup (what you get when you Ctrl i soon after BIOS and you have two identicle IDE hardrives connected to one of the six SATA connections) - so I Can't RAID the Marvell controller SATA III (or I'm not wise enough to know how, however). Appreciate to know if this will change in the future? Perhaps I must have bought the P6x58D Extended - an individual at Toms Hardware said that the Marvell could be raided there. It's confusing, simply because the manual says you can RAID0 the Marvell's - but it doesn't show up in the BIO - almost certainly the most confusing frustrating thing. In any case, an independent report stated that the SATA III burst speeds aren't as quick setup as a raid as working with the SATA II (will explore it later).

Welcome to the initially and last motherboard you'll ever will need (or The motherboard I learned to trust and live with for the next five or so years prior to technology when once again does a total 180)Tons of room, a lot of expansion space. Genuinely can't go wrong. A small bit a lot more breathing space about the PCI slots would be nice. I don't have SLI but I've read some previous reviews mentioning the space in between cards is rather tight.I'm not going to take away an egg basically because I can't say I've experienced it, but may want to look in to it if you program on going SLI

Lots of connections (USB 2. and three.; SATA 3 & 6 Gb/s; dual Ethernet) -- Bios software program is incredible, really easy to use yet still incredibly potent...Bios has built in games and a rather smooth GUI! Not truly a con, but I prefer on the start-up screen somewhere that it indicates weather single, dual, or triple channel mode for the RAM is enabled -- in this case I feel triple is engaged but I'm getting a difficult time verifying (sometimes it is every single other slot for the DIMMs from time to time you're supposed to have them all subsequent to each other, and I've seen where the manual isn't constantly suitable on this). Lastly, it isn't the "flashiest" searching piece of hardware, rather plain-Jane heatsinks and color-scheme, but once again this isn't genuinely a con for me... the factor sits inside my computer case and all I care about is that it works (and has all the support/connections I want). I like lots of options for USB and a digital audio optical-output -- this MB delivers and with a entire lot far more. It has all the contemporary features and appears to be prepared to accommodate about something (short of a triple GPU setup). With the built in USB three. and SATA III Ɩ GB/s) assistance, I think I'll be able to hold on to this for a even though with out out getting forced to upgrade due to new component requirements -- did I mention the Bios software program is fantastic!?!? Quite satisfied!

Wonderful support, but additional importantly the owners manual was in fact useful (I know, a novel idea). Comes with a superior quantity of features. The one overclocking utility is not to be taken seriously. The utilities could be greater, but finish up performing additional excellent then harm.

This board works as claimed. With my SATA III SSD and 950 processor, I have no complaints about performance or unctions. This is my third ASUS motherboard and they all have worked as specified. this board costs really a bit and so I was pleased to uncover the smaller ฤ rebate. I bought the board in the specified time frame and mailed the submission as required. ASUS has denied this rebate claiming that The buy was not in the specified time frame and that I didn't mail the submission on time. The links in the email they sent are all broken so I can not inquire.Very disappointed by a modest rebate fraud for a firm whose goods I have loved for years.

Built my dream program for below ũ,500 with this motherboard! Had a little difficulty waking up from Sleep, then figured out that it's because of the new 'Hybrid Sleep' mode; disabled that and there are no complications...

Dependability, I have had this board for 1 year and I have never ever had a single difficulty. Have kept my i7 920 and 3.6 ghz without having any crashes or hangs. My 4 velociraptors in raid are far more stable and reliable than any SSD. Voltages remain true even below heavy load. Solid construction, I have changed CPU coolers 3x and video cards 3x throughout the one year I have owned the board with out any problems. This board did not like the 19 or 21 multiplier for me, I have had to stick with the 20x. Not a massive fan of the express gate, and I have by no means researched if I can turn it off. Never tested the onboard sound.

You ought to anticipate high quality mobo's from ASUS and this 1 is no exception. The build quality is superb. My only complaint with this mobo is that it does not support Intel Watchdog, and for that reason you can\'t run the included Intel Extreme Tuning utility in "Auto" mode. A small disappointing for a novice OC'er like me, but if you already know what you're doing with OC then this should not be a dilemma at all.

I own a DFI lanparty JR t3h6 but wanted to put some light on the concerns you all are getting with your ram not becoming recognized. The issue is with how your processor is seated in the socket. The memory controller is located in the processor not on the motherboard... and the grounding contacts for that memory controller are located on the top of the i7 processor, so if the metal clamp doesnt make correct get in touch with with your processor when you first seat it in the 1366 socket, your mobo will not read the ram properly. sometime it will read and other times it wont. alot of it has to do with heat and an unclean surface from possibly thermal grease. I have had this problem myself immediately after installing an aftermarket cooler. It took me about half a day of reading and coming to the conclusion "myself" before i decided to clean the processor and the metal surface of the i7 with 98% isoprophal alcohol (for a second time) to get the outcomes i was looking for. make certain your i7 is seated appropriately if your having ram concerns!!! the copper contacts on the best of the i7 cpu control the memory manage for your mother board! this is an concern that need to be talked about much more usually and i had to figure it out myself. I havent found anyplace on the internet that actually discusses this issue with socket 1366

Best high quality components, Near best layout. Fired up 1st time on new create. IMO, the P6X58-E was the finest obtain of the X58's, but got the Pro on sale for only บ a lot more. Hate the sideways SATA ports. My suggestions -- plug your SATA cables just before installing the MB. I've construct quite a few PC's and helped other people diagnose their build issues and only when had a poor MB. Widespread builder troubles: improper CPU, RAM or Video Card seating or incorrect heatsink install, not connecting all PSU cables, Wrong RAM, and so on. As a result, take the "DOA or Bad MB" ratings of new builds with a grain of salt.

Am quite disapointed about this . No internal usb 3. connections like usb two. or 1394 . lowere latency memory card not supported across all memory slots . no onboard wi-fi . Very upset with the no raid on 6gbps ports . very misleading , especially when thats why I purchased the board to begin with .

I have had this motherboard for over 6 months, and i have experienced no problems with this at all. It is excellent for operating dual drive setups with a data drive operating out of the 6Gb/s port. Was easy and self explanatory to install. None amazing attributes, no reliability issues, i have already suggested this board to a friend of mine and he hasn't had any problems yet either.

This board is the classic you get what you pay for. I had no troubles with the RAM. (Kingston hyperX 1600) 6gb sata not capable for raid setupit has Bios and not the UEFI The bios needed to be adjusted to run my ram at the 1600 speed. This did boost my CPU from three.07 to 3.67. This really is a very good searching board. Granted that looks are superficial but when you invest this kind of income you want to look under the hood at times and see a work of art.I had posted earlier but did not know how to add to my comment. It seemed a small harsh so I wanted to add this.I am pleased with my Mobo and as I tweak it here and there I get a little much more and far more from it.

Good mobo, uncomplicated install...no boot troubles. Supported SLI with no issues. Seems quickly, good over clocking. Cmos reset on outside of case. It has 6 3gb/s sata and two 6 gb/s. I was planning on using the 6 3gb ports for a raid 10 array and the 2 6gb ports for a raid 1 array. The 6 disk raid would be for video editing storage and the two disk raid would be my OS. the 6gb/s have no raid controller. Unless you want to risk information loss they are useless. I now want to obtain a raid card for my os drives considering that the 6gb/s ports don't support any raid. For video editing and intence gaming the os drive can be slow as long as the media drive is supper fast. My raid 10 gives me virtually 300mb/s up and down. If i use the 6. ports i risk information loss If you don't care about data loss or don't want raid on your 6. this mobo is fine, otherwise the 6. are useless.
