Pros: bought for my i7 with d0 stepping. works great, looks cool. extra pci slots for additional stuff were what i couldn't find with other models. layout of ports are perfect for my power supply. bios settings are pretty customizable.
Comment:
this motherboard with a core i7 and ssd make for an awsome setup. usb 3.0 ports will definately come in handy in the future.

Easy set up.
Comment:
I got this board for my first scratch build. Was very surprised at how easy it was to adjust and how fast it booted. Great features, great users manual for the first time builder. Pricey yes, but a good foundation to build a fast pc from.

Fantastic Board
Comment:
This is an incredible board, a little pricy but worth it. One caution is to be very careful inserting your cpu into the socket, it is very easy to bend the socket pins and if you do that, your screwed. Easy to overclock however you will need to do it in the BIOS as the Asus overclocking utility sucks

This motherboard was defective right out of the box. The mfg replaced it, but that took three weeks. Once it was replaced and working I was very happy with it.

ASUS P6X58D Premium ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: No PCI-e 2.1. Not an ROG board

Pros: Solid Overclocking, great cooling solution.
Comment:
Great board, powered up first time no problems. Puts my i7 930 at 4 - 4.2 GHz no issues. Very well made, Asus even wised up on the packaging of this board. I miss some of the features from my ROG Striker II extreme, but this board is much more advanced in terms of USB and Sata. The X58 chipset is rock solid for overclocking. My old 790i would corrupt drive images every other time an overclock failed. This board keeps it all together even when pushing the limits of you hardware. IMO Asus boards are worth the money.

1st scratch bld, tnx 2 u rvwrs I made a capable 3D-HD edit rendering station that my octo Core Mcpro may envy. Set out to build a W7 64 WS at low cost. Learned tons would do it again. The X58 SB needs to go next gen that's on chipset guys not MB guys. Then SATA-III and USB 3.0 are full throttle and not steal any pipe. Not hitting that wall most wont yet. My 4TB Raid 5 set 250MBS and 2TB Sata-III boot 115 MBS work well but want faster data off RAID. Need 2 ask for help to opti-clk i7-975 X. THANK you all.

Great Board
Comment:
If you want a Board for the next three to four years this is your guy. It handles i7 6 core if you decide to upgrade later on, also has USB 3.0 and SATA 6.0. The Linux OS from Asus comes in handy when you find you need a driver. It alows you to surf the net to down load the drivers you need. I did not need the memok because my RAM came up fine but it was nice to know it was there. Other thoughts:XFX HD 585A-ZNBC Radeon HD 5850 Cypress PRO 1GB, Corsair Dominator (6 X 2GB) SDRAM DDR3 1600 Tripple Channle, Corsair CMPSU 850TX 850v, Intel Core i7-960 Bloomfield 3.2GHz, Western Digital SATA Hard drives.

Cons:premium price for premium board

Pros:easy installation, great overclocking features, runs solid and has usb 3 and sata 3 for future upgrades.
Comment:
I feel confident this motherboard will meet my needs for quite some time to come. Being new to overclocking, I had no trouble at 4 GHz and ran the prime 95 torture test to confirm the stability and with Haf 922 case kept cool.

ASUS P6X58D Premium ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:None so far....

Pros:I-N-C-R-E-D-I-B-L-E!! Manufacturing of components. Easy to install. Alot of cpu coolers will fit no problem. USB 3.0 and SATA 3. Godlike overclocking potential. Memtest is cool feature. Efficient power distribution. Overall exellent product!
Comment:
I bought this board after my EVGA E758 3 way SLi shorted after only two weeks usage... Installation was extremely easy: nine screws perfect fit I/O shield is good quality compared to my EVGA board. THe board is extremely well manufactured components are all good quality, and fanless chipset cooling is working wonders! My Noctua Nh14D fits perfectly with no obstructions, my EVGA board had lots of obstruction with my cpu cooler (even had to bend the vreg tower :/) Back to the board Asus board, I oc my i7 to 4.05 GHz no problem at 1.30 v core, Ram at 1600 Mhz DDR3 triple channel works perfectly. The memtest is a cool feature since I wanted to test it I had faulty G-skill ram laying around to I tried it on my board.Memtest beeped and told me it was faulty! Resetted my COrsair XM3 1600 mhz ram pushed the Memtest button and everything was clear! Neat feature. USB 3 and SATA 3 are a warm welcome for the future! I recommend this product to any serious gamer or alike!

ASUS P6X58D Premium ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:A bit pricy (though you do get what you pay for) - not really a con, you have to pay to play

Pros:One of the best motherboards avaliable for X58 chipset, provides the best future proofing options as well
Comment:
I browsed through quite a few motherboards before I ended up finding this one and I was quite impressed with the array of options available. This board is quite simply the best you can get without looking into the server market. It gives everything you could possibly need on a X58 board as well as anything you might want in this day and age. I truly like the fact that I can add Sata 3.0, USB 3.0, and even a new processor after the 1366 32nm chips come out. I can even add 1 or 2 more video cards as well should I need more power before my next build. AS motherboards go, if you're looking to build a machine in the near future, this one should easily last you 3-4 years before the building bug strikes again! (which is quite good in the computer world)The bios is also quite easy to use and overclocking an i7 only takes a matter on minutes. 4GHz is simple on air alone. I highly reccomend! 2 words - FUTURE PROOF
Comment:
This board is perfect for the people that aren't hard core toywhores. If you want to build a computer that will run for the next 5 years without having to play musical parts, this is the MOBO for you. This Mobo uses reinforcement plates on the backside to keep the board from warping. Something the Others don't. I had to RMA and EVGA SLI LE because it was so badly warped from overtightened heatsinks. I'm still waiting for my refund. I could only give this board a 4 star rating on features because it only has 1 1394 header. With my HAF932 I'd like to have another one for a card reader.

Impressive board
Comment:
Over the years I've done dozens of builds, and I've gravitated to using a few brands of boards, one of which is Asus. I've had minor issues in the past with any board I've used which can normally be corrected with a BIOS update or some similar fix. That said, however, I feel I must say that this board is the first one I've used that was 100% trouble free. I literally plugged in the components, turned it on, and went directly to loading the OS. I've been using it for over a month now, and I've had no issues of any kind with this board. I'm going to grab two more as soon as the company has them available again for two more builds I have scheduled early this year. I recommend this board.

ASUS's best yet!

I was looking to buy a P6T deluxe v2 but decided to check this mobo out on a recommendation from a one phone tech's at TigerDirect. What a great recommendation. This thing is awesome. Its a bit pricey, but worth the money if you want to OC. I was able to run my i7 920 at 3.8 GHz without raising the core voltage of the CPU. Totally stable.

Great board with a big price tag
Comment:
This board was a dream to install in my new PC build. Make sure you get a case that has 3 pin connectors for the case fans so you can use the great fan control in the BIOS. It is a little pricey to get, probably for the SATA 6.0gbps and USB 3.0, but this board will continue to be valuable for years to come.

ASUS P6X58D Premium ATX Intel Motherboard

ASUS P6X58D Premium ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:- could have space the PCI-e and PCI slots a little further apart but besides that, no complaints.

Pros:- not super, insanely expensive- sata 3 and usb 3 support- installed easy with no issues- very few jumpers- good quality brand: Asus- access the internet from bootup / bios- made with high quality components- somewhat future proof; 32nm 6 core cpu support
Comment:
Runs rock stable and I love the fact I can buy a SSD, sata 3 or usb 3 devices down the road. Not much else to say, its an excellent mobo and worth every penny. This review was modfied by poster i 12-30-09 08:55 PM This review was modfied by poster @ 12-30-09 09:55 PM
