Really intuitive installation and BIOS setup. The installation of the processor, energy provide connections, and elements was uncomplicated. The HD video with a Core i5-655K is phenomenal. This board is Incredibly particular when it comes to RAM. The 1st RAM I purchased was listed in the accepted RAM pages at the clock speed, but it was the incorrect size. The listed RAM component quantity was single-sided, and I purchased double-sided at twice the capacity as the listed product. The motherboard would not POST, beep at me, or something. The fans would run and nothing else. When I removed the RAM, it would at least get far enough to give me the no RAM beep string. I bought RAM directly from the authorized RAM list (matching every single letter from the approved list), and it fired up with no any further troubles. Be certain to examine the approved RAM list at ASUS's internet site ahead of shopping for RAM for this board. Just matching the clock speed to what the motherboard says it will assistance is not good enough. Perhaps this is essential for everyone's stuff now, but it was new to me. It's been about 5 years due to the fact I final built a machine, and chipset selections have ballooned out of handle from what I recall.

Straightforward to install; clear instructions; layout is easy to read and function. The User Guide is extremely informative. Only one particular so far. I was hoping to run 3 monitors, one off of each video output (VGA, DVI, HDMI). Dilemma is, when you plug into the DVI the HDMI stops operating, and vice versa. It does state in the User Guide (page 2-24) that it will only help two monitors, but I couldn't uncover that tidbit in NewEgg or Asus site information. It could be nice to know up front that it genuinely only has TWO video outs. They need to've mentioned 1 - D-sub, 1 - DVI-D, OR 1 - HDMI. Most may not care due to the fact they'll get a video card anyway, but I thought you'd like to know just in situation. I like the board overall. It's nicely constructed and has what I want, mainly. The value was reasonable, particularly for the attributes. I'll just have to get a video card now, and by the way Asus tells me that installing a video card will disable the onboard video, just in situation you were asking yourself.

Comparatively affordableHandles more than clocking fairly properly(both CPU and RAM)BIOS is nicely laid out to make more than clocking fairly effortless I wish there would be far more space among the processor and DIMM sockets. After installing a zalman 9900ALED HSF I had a tricky time installing my Ripjaw series RAM simply because they use fairly big heat spreaders. I also am not crazy about the placement of the sata connectors as they are challenging to reach unless your graphics card is pretty modest. Overall Im pretty happy with this motherboard and have had pretty excellent luck with asus solutions in the previous.

Functions properly with Ubuntu 10.04, i5 650 clarkdale and 1600 ripjaw ram. There are a few settings to make use of 1600 ram. It's in the manual. If you jump amongst Ubuntu and windows you may have issues with on board LAN. I have however to attempt and fix this.

Operates excellent with i3-530, 4GB DDR3 Important Ballistix, and Western Digital Green 1TB. Integrated O.C. selections are wonderful, while, I won't be employing them considering that this baby goes in the living room. The layout is relatively user friendly. Characteristics on this board alone was adequate for me to give it five stars, and have not but encountered an challenge or BSOD due to the fact I've completed this build.Kudos to Asus for yet one more solid product and Newegg for quick delivery. Mine shipped with older BIOS, updated BIOS utilizing my old i5-750 ( got as a bundle with 3C5 board from local retailer which died currently so I purchased this! ). Swapping everything was a breeze, nearly plug and play other than obtaining to reactivate my Windows 7 once more. Operating for a month now and I don't have to be concerned about longevity due to the fact this has a 3-Year warranty.

Employed in a spending budget create w/Clarksdale i3. Adequate connections present on MB. Came with newest BIOS firmware already flashed. Ide connector is a good inclusion for these who want to use an older optical drive. Plugged in all components, and off it went with out troubles of any sort. Don't care for the Asus Expressgate - installed an Intel SSD so startup to Win7 desktop is only about 10 seconds anyway. Luckily, it can be turned off in bios settings to prevent it from becoming an annoyance each and every boot-up. Affordable bundle. Seemed like a excellent deal. Dead On Arrival. Now I'm behind on my company due to the fact this is the most crucial portion of it. Puts me back at least a week now. Not positive how Newegg will address this concern. If I get a operating replacement, then I'll be happy. Hope I don't have to send back the entire bundle considering that I've installed drives, etc.

Bought this mobo for my initially create. Has every little thing I require. H55 so I can use onboard graphics until I upgrade a new video card. No problems so far, smooth setup. Can't go incorrect with Asus. Back panel I/O plate cheap and flimsy, but no biggie. It's tough to believe a lot of these unfavorable reviews. Almost certainly people today that don't read the instructions. Thank you newegg, you're the finest!

Small size, OK value, on board video Let's start out with it does not function effectively with graphics card. Installed 8800GT and then it's tough to get video output. Then right after a few tune in ram voltage, it won't even post. Then I brought another Asus board and that functions with two 8800GT in SLI mode. Here is the kicker, sent board back to Asus for RMA and then I got a e-mail response that the Motherboard pins were bent. That's a joke as I sent board back with a CPU socket protector. They just want to give excuse not to RMA the board. Then wanna ask to 贘 to total the RMA, that's an insult on best of the kick in the rear. Thanks but no thanks. I'll purchase Gigabyte or a thing else from now. I'm an IT skilled and my firm will not purchase Asus going forward. I'll give suggestions to my friends not to obtain Asus as they will not take care of you when your item failed. Just getting fair on . Incredibly disappointed. as they utilized to be fantastic with client assistance. In this case, I bought the board in Micro Center but Newegg nevertheless rocks. As well early to buy the other Asus MB. OK, what's performed is accomplished. No much more Asus going forward, not laptop, motherboard, or anything else. I purchased lots of computers in the final ten years.. they'll really feel it going forward.

The board itself is quite well created, and it runs fairly effectively. The HDMI is not laggy as far as I can tell. The board is best for an HTPC application due to the fact it is very quiet. The board does not operate with memory operating in Dual Channel, for some cause the memory can only be run on 1 DIMM per channel. That kind of suck since I did not know this before and RMA and even bought a new set of memory. wasting my time and money Make sure you do your study just before getting this board and any type of memory, ask about on your nearby forum

This was my very first create following a lot of years. Creating a residence media center I wanted a board with HDMI output, and realized from evaluations here that this board is great if you purchase a chip for onboard graphics. On the other hand, I look at a multimedia Pc one that also is a stout gaming machine so I bought a separate video card. This board's layout is awesome and the mini ATX form element takes up no space in my Sonata III case which is a plus for bigger video cards. There are an ample amount of SATA inputs and they are spaced with foresight for what you might be adding. Enjoy the onboard optical audio as effectively, and all drivers included flawlessly from the disc. This board is also incredibly easily overclocked to above 3ghz via software installed by means of the mobo, and also a fantastic array of bios settings. Board only recognized my A-Data 2x2GB 240 DDR3 gaming ram at 800 mhz until I went to bios and disabled auto-detect and utilised manual designation to run at 1600 mhz. Only two typical PCI slots, one particular of which gets covered by most any decent video card. There is also no firewire on this board, and even when employing a dedicated graphics card display is not in a position to output by way of onboard HDMI port on the mobo. I used this board in two distinct systems: one particular with a core i5 661 processor and an additional with a Pentium Dual Core G6950 (the desktop version of an i3).The overclocking tools let me overclock the cpu and video so that both systems ranked the identical perfromance numbers. I.e. the G6950 was way much more overclockable than the core i5 661 even although it price less than half the price. My W7 WEI index is 5.9 for the integrated video, which is the very same as a quad-core desktop I have with a GTX 9800 video card in a PCI-E x16 slot! None so far. This board is the heart of two systems that expense much less than 蹢 to build. Fantastic for a HTPC, but makes it possible for for decent medium performand gaming as nicely.

little size. HDMI out. DOES NOT Function WITH i5-650 CLARKDALE. I created the mistake of not researching this adequate, and got some discounted packages through newegg. Immediately after 11 hours of attempting to make my personal computer work, and no good results, i lurked the internet for factors of why this is happening. Finally, i discovered a 1 star post about this motherboard saying that it didnt perform with the clarkdale i5 since of a BIOS situation. Apparently the BIOS thats in this board is not up to date with what is required with the Clarkdale i5. This has created for an particularly frustrating experiance, as i was pumped to have a new personal computer (mainly for starcraft two), and now i have to either yell at ASUS, or respectfully complain to newegg and get a unique mobo. This has been an awful experiance. I'd really like it if newegg could let me to return this abomination of a MOBO for shop credit so i can buy a distinct one.

It has D-sub, DVI and HDMI connectors, four memory slots and 3 USB two. connectors, which offers a builder a lot of latitude in setting up a program. The manual is clear with plenty of information. It's a wonderful board to use in budget systems working with Intel i3 500 series or i5 600 series because it allows a builder to use the Intel HD Graphics incorporated on the processor instead of a video card. With its choices, it doesn't have to be confined to that niche, either. None Newegg shipped it out swiftly at a greater price than I could find elsewhere.
