Rapidly, Friendly, dare i say sexy! This mobo has every thing you want to make a fast web machine. When you start out up the express gate(coolest thing in awhile) asks if you want to go on the web or skype or chat! OC is effortless but weird. The probe is limited. But overall I adore my MOBO 99 miles of printed circuits on the wall 99miles of circuit. To much owners manual. It took some time to uncover pertinent info. To absolutely everyone who stated DOA, did you attempt a Graphic card or i5 or i7 with intel graphics.

Attractive board, has the functions I want. Works well. NIC died - due to Ubuntu 10.10 problem - unplugging from the wall restored function. Search the internet for realtek 8112L and Ubuntu Read the manual about video help and memory slots. If you're only using 2 dimms, and a lynnfield cpu, they need to go only in two particular slots. Plug them in the incorrect pair and the technique won't see them. Also, only certain Core-i3/i5 modules have video support.

* My Asus board died inside 3 months and contacting ASUS on the web (the finest way for me) to get this RMA'd is proving impossible. When I did call, I was told there was no warranty on ASUS boards and I won't go into the awful service that rep offered. The e mail in the board manual doesn't perform. I've filled out the RMA form, no answer and then did as they say to do if I don't get an answer within 48 hours, that didn't perform either. reported wrong email when all was right. The reside chat in the US is under so-referred to as "maintenance". Just no way to speak to these individuals and I'm acquiring the notion that is by style.

Seems excellent, decent characteristics, stunning construction. Bios has decent oc options, although I don't ever use them. Nice to know they are there tho. Express Gate is pointless, but if you like it then it is there. Crashes continually in win7 x64 connected to a toshiba television. Can not remain up for more than 2 hours if doing something video associated, typically 10 minutes. Staying at desktop is normally stable, but MPC, WMC, Hulu, any game, something else causes a critical crash. Most up-to-date bios and everything. Dnet overnight is no issue, furmark, something. Nonetheless, go fullscreen on a video and it dies at some point. I haven't had this issue by means of the VGA so far, only the dvi->hdmi and hdmi itself. Assistance has been terrible. Sell a custom board to good people and the finest you can say is to run 3dmark to diagnose the problem or go find some cost-free software someplace?! Dam thing can't remain up exactly where a EIGHTY dollar roku box has no challenge!

Haven't had time to tweak, but it has worked devoid of troubles as soon as I figured out why it wouldn't... When I first installed this board it wouldn't boot. Beeps told me it was a video dilemma. This is a enterprise laptop or computer so high-performance video is not necessary and was using the on-board video. I was about prepared to RMA the board, but additional investigation revealed the answer. Checking CPU compatibility on Newegg simply list "Core i7 / i5 / i3 / Pentium (LGA1156)" as compatible CPU's.I'd purchased an Core i7-870 to go with this board, and considering that information on Newegg was a bit sparse, I had checked the Asus website. The Core i7-870 is listed as compatible. BUT there's a link close to the top of the page "(Choose processors with Intel® Graphics technologies for VGA assistance.)". There's the answer - the i7-870 does not have the graphics support. I bought a video card and fixed the issue.I assume Asus could do a much better job of highlighting this requirement - it cost me a couple of hours messing around and a video card that I hadn't planned on acquiring.

Comparatively low price, all of the essentials required for a HTPC. It just worked with the i3-540 with no fussing of bios settings. Fastest construct time I've ever had on a method. LED, USB connectors weren't situated Precisely exactly where I wanted them to be. But not a large deal - just a little added couple of wire ties. Looked for a excellent deal on a MB for the HTPC and this didn't let me down. Digital audio, HDMI, built-in graphics with the i3-540 - all excellent for what I necessary. I haven't tried overclocking - not confident I want/need to.

Not positive of any. Not what I paid for. Wow, exactly where do I commence. When I ordered this I checked ASUS' web page and verified CPU and memory compatibility. I get every thing and put it together and get a program will not post and get a no VGA detected code by way of beeps. Thinking about this board has on-board video via three distinct connection varieties I was confused so I named ASUS support. ASUS assistance then informs me that the Core i5-760 doesn't have built-in GPU assistance. Funny, there's no mention of that on their supported processors list. Oh, I practically forgot, the initially ASUS assistance person I spoke with had me RMA the board and CPU. I have built a lot more systems than I can remember for clients/friends/family members. I have often used ASUS mobo's and been very satisfied. Right after this really frustrating expertise I will attempt elsewhere.

Absolutely nothing worked. Have usually utilised MSI and ASUS boards in all my builds and this is the first board to be faulty.Gonna try an EVGA next

Decent layout. My old 8800GTX doesn't block any of the SATA ports. Micro ATX is good enough for my requires. Memory standard is comparatively low, unless you overclock.Board gave me all sorts of weird problems. If I turned on my laptop or computer immediately after it had been off for additional than three hours or so, I would either bluescreen, or go in an endless restart loop. The fix was to turn it off, then instantly back on. My first thought was that the CMOS battery was dead, but that wasn't the case...Then for some cause, the PSǘ connector broke. I believe 1 of the contacts in the female port bent and blocked the pins from my keyboard from totally plugging in.Had to RMA the thing. Hopefully second time's the charm, I don't want to give up hope on Asus yet... Get a case where the energy supply goes ON THE Leading. Otherwise your CPU power cable's got a looong way to go to reach the plug.

Paired this with a Core i3-530 Clarkdale two.93 and got a nice Pc for not a lot income. Onboard video with the i3 is absolutely not a high efficiency GPU but it gets the job done for watching HD video and the few older games I play. The documentation was surprisingly very good and the board came with the almost-latest BIOS (one version behind and I haven't updated but since I haven't had any difficulties). None that I've found so far. Got this as portion of a bundle for my initially construct and I'm pretty pleased.

This is an totally fantastic board. Low price, Very feature rich and has 7.1 audio. What can I say, Asus does it once more. I have employed Asus boards for more than 15 years and haven't had a challenge with 1 of them. Also, amazing sale cost at Newegg. Built a budget program as a second computer, put it together and it fired suitable up. Straightforward straight forward bios settings for overclocking. Overclocks like mad with an Intel Core i3 550. Not actually cons for me but, I wish Asus would have placed the sata ports facing out away from the board rather of up, as they sit on this board. It would make for greater cable management, I believe. It would have been nice to have RAID. The rear I/O port is type of flimsy. Very good feature set. Price is decent. I've RMA'd this thing already and my problem is still not fixed. Whenever my personal computer has been turned off for any longer than a few hours, my computer goes into an endless reset cycle the subsequent time I turn it off. When my pc has been unplugged for an extended period of time, all of my Bios settings disappear and I have to enter the Setup otherwise I can't boot. Appears like it could be related to the CMOS battery, or EEPROM.Asus support in their infinite wisdom suggested that it was THERMAL Difficulties... when the darn factor was becoming turned on from room temperature.I'm gonna e-mail technical support 1 additional time. Unless they let me RMA this thing and pay for my shipping and give me a Unique board, I'm avoiding their brand for very good. I would spring for a more premium board next time.Asus support is incompetent.

Every little thing works just fine, good overall layout. Employing i3-550, so it's good to skip on a seperate video card. Played a few .mkv 1080p movies, and was extremely impressed with the flawless playback at stock settings. 1st time i've ever had a 'no boot' on a very first power up for any build i've completed. Switched my 4gb memory from the blue slots to the black ones, then every little thing booted proper up. Not sure what the concern was there......, according to the manual, dual channel ought to've worked in either pair of color slots. I've always been a fan of ASUS motherboards, soon after five private builds, and about ten other builds for freinds, i've not once had an concern with any ASUS board.

We bought this motherboard for ๥ around Xmas. The motherboard arrived promptly inside 2-3 days. This was for an HTPC that we were building with i5-660. We were really pleased with the board. The layout is really great and the items worked correct out of the box -- Video, Audio, CPU, etc. The Bios is incredibly powerful for the cost-point. The overclocking menu, boot menu that enables booting through USB, and so on. were excellent capabilities. Overall, an amazing item. Due to CPU standards, the board ran my 1600 MHz DDR3 at 1333 MHz as opposed to 1600MHz. However, the user manual addresses this directly and there is an easy BIOS setting to alter this.

Not certain where to start off but extremely solid durability. The realtime overclocking capability is such a cool function along with the Turbo choice for gaming. Can't beat that cost either. Functionality is superb. Not significantly just a few design issues but that genuinely depends on the case you have. I would have liked the EATX12V connector on the exact same side as the EATXPWR connection that way you don't have a different power cable running across the entire board it can line up on 1 side. Small bit a lot more space in between the PCI1 slot and Vid Card slot.
