The evaluations and recommendations are there for a cause. This is a dynamite motherboard. Freakin' pricey, but it's worth it. My technique is rockin' now and I'm particularly satisfied. I coupled this with the Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor, OCZ Vertex 2 90GB (SSD) and G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB SDRAM and I've got a lightning fast machine with no hiccups. just the price

Installation directions are excellant (IMO). The board layout permits for a clean install in my HAF922. My PSU (modular mind you) looks good and the cables reach each socket perfectly. My MB was inspected for defects and prior use. No defects had been discovered. Initial boot up worked flawlessly and the BIOS was updated as advised. The Marvel Raid Chip is working as described. I updated the drivers via the ASUS internet site and followed the step by step instructions from the Marvel web page. These are my Primary OS drives. I also installed two further OS for casual use (Wife). The on-board sound program is excellant. I can very easily track my enemies when they make the slightest noise. The Asus AI Suite enables for monitoring and CPU level up. This functions perfectly, I don't see the require to step up any further. I utilized the advised data sheet to choose my RAM and I've not had any complications. As quite a few others have posted, I didn have to adjust the timing and voltage. Great!!! None so far! I upgraded from a Dell XPS600 nforce4 MB & Pentium D processor. Whats remarkable about my existing construct is the advantage I have over my competition. I honestly can't say how a lot addtional time I have to engage (Black Ops) just before they know I'm there, but I can tell that their program is lagging behing mine. Employing my Pentium D, I was lucky to hit 25-30 fps and I was usually a target. Now, 100+ fps, VC settings at 4x AA, Automatic on every little thing else. Smooth is all I can say. No SLI (I wonder what it would be like with two). 8Gb of RAM, Core i7 950 OC'd utilizing CPU level up. Stable and cool. If you want a efficiency gaming rig, make sure you contain this MB and you can be assured you'll be at the top of the leaderboard. If not, I hope you're on the receiving finish of my Assault Rifle. [USA] Soldier!! Look for me on Black OPs!

Quite high efficiency, clean layout, HD audio is just great. Make certain you have enough amperage on your 12V rail, my existing power provide黼watt) had 36 amps, this was not sufficient power for this board and an I7 950, it only would not boot. Soon after operating through this with ASUS tech support (which is outstanding), it was determined that 36 amps did not meet the minimal, so I upgraded to a 950 watt with 83amp 12V rail power provide, and it fired suitable up.

This board is amazing and looks awesome with the red and black style. I installed anything onto it booted up fine. It has quite flexible voltage settings for overclocking cpu and DRam. I have to rma this board for a replacement simply because in bios my IOH temp was at 80c and climbing just idling in bios menu. So sending it back for a replacement hope this one had much better cooling on the IOH not trying to see 80c at idle or specially when gaming Fantastic board does what you will need to do as long as it does what you want and stays that way its a very good mobo proper?

Nice layout and quick. Has very good capabilities. Fits good in my HAF 922 case. I worried about memory issues with this board, but I had no issues. (see below) None Mushkin Enhanced Redline 6GB Ɠ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 998805 works really well with this board working with XMP. It does set the voltage a bit high, but you can adjust it down very easily. Running stable at 6-8-6-24-1N.

The board layout is excellent, uncomplicated BIOS, fantastic RAM compatibility, effortless to overclock and a nice assortment of added features. None. I see individuals complaining about specific peripherals that aren't compatible. Look guys, as a customer, it is your responsibility to study if these parts function together prior to purchasing them. It is not the item's fault if it doesn't do something it doesn't advertise as carrying out. Stop downrating perfectly excellent parts due to the fact you failed to do the appropriate analysis.

This is a great motherboard, like most EVGA products, and I selected it for its excellent SLI capabilities, high overclocking potential, and i7 32nm compatible socket, as properly as the 6 GBPS Sata controller. Most of those function wonderful. I have to underclock my corsair ram for it to be stable 񢉐 mhz kit running @ 1866) nevertheless that is to be expected. The Sata6 controller by marvell is the greatest piece of garbage I've ever dealt with. I'm operating a WD 2 tb 6 gbps hdd, and not only did I not get the throughput advertised, even with the most recent driver from EVGA, stability is a significant concern. I've gotten Internal NDIS errors, unmountable boot volume errors, invalid configuration errors... tons of bluescreens. I just moved it to the three gbps sata ports and will see how issues go. I'm quite disappointed in the 6 gbps efficiency, and apparently I'm not the only 1. This is a fantastic board, but for 300 bucks, i actually was expecting full functionality for my new render and gaming laptop or computer. I'm disappointed in the marvell controller and honestly, I can't afford to have my station down for RMA's that may well not even fix it.

One of the finest boards I've owned. The BIOS options are plentiful and produced for overclocking. Have a i7-950 overclocked at 4GHz with ease that hovers about 30C at idle and 45C at full load with 12GB of Mushkin DDR3-1600. Make positive you get a real decent HSF to go with this poor boy. Had 1 board that I had to RMA as it wasn't noticing all of the RAM due to bent pins on the CPU socket. Make positive you double check the socket ahead of placing your chip in as you might need to straighten the pin or just send it back and get a new board. Generally trust Asus items personally. They've never ever steered me incorrect.

Anything functions good, posted with no complications. Good high quality, fantastic features, not too hard on the wallet. Only con I would say is the somewhat buggy ROG Connect. It functions but it has some kinks that should be addressed. All the LED's appear wonderful thru the side panel window!

Each bell and whistle imaginable ,BIOS offering much more possibilities than your typical gamer would care to tweak,Accessorys galore and a three year warranty to boot.Booted proper up soon as the power button touched and has been rocking ever because.RAID instantaneous to set up and WIN7 64 bit loaded drivers automatic and smooth(On the intel controller as Ive not however delved into SSD land as of yet) A couple of tiny tweaks in BIOS and have a i7 950 cruising along ʄ.2 Ghz and 32 C idle. Utilized to be an EVG* fan boy and nonetheless am for Vid cards but this motherboard is a critical piece of hardware. Incredibly good effort by ASUS and future proof as properly. None Purchased elsewhere as I wanted instant gratification right after my aging i7 920 and EVG* setup took a dump , merry Christmas to me! :) No better way to justify the expenditure to the wife than hitting the power button and receiving dead silence.lol Paid 30 dollars far more but oh nicely. Thankyou Newegg for the No cost shipping label =) I had to RMA the initial Rampage III Formula I got because my IOH temps were going above 80c just idling in bios. I just got the replacement RMA board and This 1 had Way better temps idling of 50c in bios but the ethernet port was dead no yellow or green blinking light just dead windows 7 said please plug in a ethernet cable and try once again. So im sending this second board back for a refund Newegg hooked me up with a no cost ups shipping label which was genuinely nice. I was a massive asus fan boy but I dont have to attempt this once more for a third time and have an additional issue with this board So Im going to try EVGA and get the EVGA X58 FTW3 board and hope I have a superior experience =/

Wonderful Utility Software program package. This board is a tweaker's delight however works perfectly properly sufficient appropriate out of the box. Basic sufficient for me... advanced enough for you! Maxell RAID on the SATA 3 ports is definitely incomprehensible! Intel RAID is on the SATA 2 program rather of SATA3. I elected to use the "soft" RAID 1 that is included in Windows 7 Expert this time. Superior decision so far and there are no controllers to fail or drivers to grow to be obsolete.

USB3., 6gb/s SATA connections, Wide Range of O.C. Possibilities and numerous useful BIOS settings. Extremely customizable... if it worked as intended. BIOS poorly detects RAM speeds and voltages. Incredibly quirky... Be cautious with your RAM selection for this board. Even if it's on the QVL list that does not mean anything when dealing with this board. You might not ever get the MAX intended speeds of your RAM you purchase. CPU Step-up feature leaves a lot to be desired. If you really feel like wrecking your CPU you can give it a shot, it didn't function for me at all. If you want a quicker CPU you're much better off acquiring it.Turbo software program for this board was garbage. Upon initial adjustments even the slightest change would BSOD the PC.Very first motherboard received was DOA.Second motherboard lasted much less than five days of use with no O.C. settings prior to it blew up and didn't power on anymore. Also the second motherboard received was dirty and looked like it had been sitting out in the open for a couple of weeks. (Hi, Q.C. department, wake up).Manufacturer drivers and programming are not what I am normally accustomed to when purchasing ASUS product I had high hopes for this board, but I have been let down so far ƒ times).I've in no way assembled and disassembled my pc as numerous times in the past couple of weeks ever in my history of developing computers. If this board crashes or comes in seeking like it fell off the back of a truck in central Asia somewhere once again I'm just going to RMA and ask for my income back and invest in an alternative product. This is the first ASUS board that is getting a Lemon Award from me if it can't pull it's own weight when I get the replacement in.I wish I would have taken a picture of how dirty the board was so you could all have seen what a waste of 跌 looks like.

--Outstanding alternatives and performance.--Working with the "CPU level up" to OC my i7 950 to 3.7GHz was stupidly easy. Fired up on the 1st time with no issue.--I steered clear of the 6 Gb/s controller for now due to other people reviews despite utilizing WD's new 600GB 6Gb/s Raptors. Instead, I have them in RAID on the 3Gb/s controllers and every thing is working just fine.--Comes with all the bells and whistles. Every thing you need to have is included. Placement, placement, placement!!! Everything is CRAMPED.--The 8-pin CPU power connection couldn't be in a worse place. I have to run the cord up underneath both graphics cards from the bottom of my case, and if you have a CPU cooler that requirements to be installed with the mobo out of the case, plugging in the cord is a challenge in and of itself to fit your huge hand among the rear panel and CPU cooler.--The DIMM slots are too close to the motherboard!! If you decide on RAM with tall sinks be ready for frustration employing any following-market CPU cooler. I am presently traveling down this road in search of a compatible cooler for my G.skill PI series RAM which are too tall to begin with. But even just 2mm a lot more of space would open up a planet of possibilities and I wouldn't have to be returning my Megahalems Rev.B, which I could only use in a pull config, utterly useless!--Obtaining into Intel RAID setup pressing Ctrl+I at POST is dang near impossible. It took me numerous tries to get Very best motherboard I have ever owned, but the space in in between the CPU mount and the DIMMs wants to be further apart. Like I stated, even if they had created them just 2mm further apart, I would be able to use nearly ANY right after-marketplace CPU cooler. Alas, that is not the case and I am frantically looking for a very good/better replacement.I'll add a 5-star review when I come across a cooler from a reputable corporation that can be employed with my ridiculously tall RAM heat sinks on this cramped motherboard.

Asus Makes wonderful equipment, this in specific becoming one of the superb items. It does precisely what I will need to do, run my gaming system at wonderful speeds. 6 RAM slots Guidelines, as well as the 6Gb/s SATA ports. Now I can't really speak for any overclockers out there, although I'm just running my program on stock specs. Truly I have no need to due to a wonderful chip, running at 3.07(thank you Intel)! None! Even though some could uncover the tiny LED "start button" annoying in dark rooms, I come across it useful. Many times Ill have the power switch off due to switching out computers or moving about the case, I can tell if i'm receiving power by just a light. nothing unique seriously - just useful in my opinion.

Cons: Ram slots are a bit close to the CPU so you have to squeeze a RAM chip under most coolers.

Pros: Of all the Motherboards i have purchased over the last 10 years this one had the best install guide. Easy to overclock and has lots of extra Fan connectors.
Comment:
Great Board easy to install and is loaded with options. Chose to go with this board instead of the Rampage Extreme because i didn't want to change my Tower. I like my modified Antec 900 Case :)
