ASUS Sabertooth X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
Comment:
I’ve owned this board for 3 months now, and over all it’s been incredibly stable, overclocked to 4GHz effortlessly working with a i7 950, a lot of USB2 ports ƒ USB3) 2 eSATA a single powered, two SATA 3, 6 SATA2 on board. On board chipset is 64C on air due to the ceramic coated heat sinks. This is a nicely built board, when you pick it up you can fell the weight, and it has a 5 year warranty. The only problem I’ve had is it hangs on shutdown since of the external backup drive, I consider is due to the eSATA driver. When it hangs I have to unplug the drive and then it shuts down correct away. Sometimes it doesn’t shut the drive off which cause it to hang on commence up attempting to uncover it for about three minutes then continues on without it, so you have to unplug the power and plug it back in after startup. It doesn’t do this all the time in either predicament and it’s not a huge issue, just annoying. The SATA 3 ports do not provide any more performance then the SATA two ports and are in fact a little slower, so if your getting it for a rapidly boot drive on these ports forget it. This doesn’t have an effect on the general overall performance of the program but it certain would have helped. The spacing for the graphics card could be superior for air cooled but is fine for water cooled. I haven’t applied the USB 3 ports however but I will in the near future utilizing a external USB3 backup drive as an alternative of the eSATA. I think the drive concern is just undesirable drivers for the eSATA and SATA3. I would advocate this board for a extended term answer exactly where you strategy to keep it for a extended time and for the cost, you can’t beat it with a five year warranty.

Bullet proof design and style, alloy choke, cap. & MOSFET, ceramic heat sinks. Fair ammount of fan plug-ins. I run ASUS parts in all my private builds, client builds, in the workplace and in the field. This board just adds to my currently happy expertise with ASUS goods. Easy to use OC tools for initial timers. Wonderful operate station and gaming board that stays stable in higher than desired ambient temps. Hits the sweet spot on value vs performance. does not come in all black? I use ASUS monitors, Netbooks, GPU's, motherboards, wireless adapters and DVD drives and advocate them any opportunity I get. Solid company with outstanding help and a solid item.

This board held all of my new components. 16 gigs of ddr3 ram @ 1600 mhz, an i7 950, 2 gtx 470's with tv tuner. No attractive post screen like the ROG formula III board :( If you are thinking about receiving this board around the identical time i post this, wait, the only plus about this board is the hexacore cpu, but intel is releasing the 2011 socket in the Q3 this year which is the intense edition that is replacing this board and the 990x as the intense setup.

Nice hunting, simple to install and use, function wealthy board. You won't be disappointed. Only con is the way the SATA ports are located. If you have a mid size case then you will struggle with working with them as I did. Just not sufficient space unless you can uncover 90 degree angle SATA cables.

I purchased this mobo based on user ratings hoping for reliability and stability, appears to have been a excellent strategy. Every thing is stable, good commence-up instances, lots of BIOS selections. NIC seems relatively speedy. I don't use the onboard sound so I don't know about that. none.

- Works fine with my OCZ1600 RAM. 6x2gb for 12gb total. - Operates fine with 2x460SE video cards (asus brand). - Operates fine with 5x1.5tb raid 5 array + 2 DVD writers. - 1st board wouldn't hold bios settings.- 0802 firmware contains old ICH10R Option Rom, would adore to discover new selection rom.- Appears this AMI bios isnt as widely utilized as the AWARD ones (where people are actively providing option roms). Watch the cost, varies between 赧 and 赭 right now.

Absolutely nothing superior to other Motherboard Manufacturers. Technical Help is a joke. 1st issue Newegg is wonderful in no way had a issue with them. ASUS on the other hand is a diverse story. This is the second Motherboard from ASUS and the second time I’ve lost with their item. Do not assume that you will get any enable or assistance from there tech persons. All you will get is run about or if you have a issue with the BIOS they will direct you to a voice message system that asks to leave a name and number but they will in no way call you. Soon after possessing a corrupted BIOS and leaving many messages to get a new chip shipped to me, I gave up soon after 3 1ǘ weeks waiting for them to return my contact. The final time I known as to ask about the status of my function order, They had me waiting on the phone for over 1 hour, needless to say I hung up figuring out they had no intension of acquiring back on the line with me.Do your self a favor, If you are attempting to make up your thoughts between a couple distinct motherboards. DO NOT purchase ASUS. Go with your other choice, if you don’t and you

This board is wonderful. I matched it up with a core i7 quad core 960 processor and 12 gigs of ddr3 1600 ram. My speed is excellent at high levels of multitasking to involve video gaming, extracting significant files and burning at the same time with no overclocking my processor. Thanks ASUS you did it yet again for me! I tested all rear ports out of the box and almost everything is great. Get THIS BOARD! None as I can tell so far. Suggested item!

Excellent seeking board, quick. Military theme. A lot of SATA and USB ports. Reasonably priced for what you get. Has bad dimm slots. Place 6GB of mushkin enhanced 1600. It only reads 4GB's. Ok, I figure perhaps bad memory stick. I put in brand new Essential Ballistix Tracer 1600, 8GB's. The computer nonetheless only sees 4GB's. I tried re-seating each sets and generating sure that the timings had been correct for both respective sets of memory. But get the similar outcomes. I genuinely wanted to like this motherboard. I have a single of thesse in a create for my nephew. It runs like a champ. I guess that I was the unlucky one this time.

Excellent 1366 board. Lots of actual features you can use everyday, not just when you're setting up an overclock. Quirky drivers. Get the model numbers and find the most up-to-date and greatest drivers yourself. Came following Asus had launched EFI. Was sort of hoping they'd roll it out on these boards as well. The networking chipset is awful. Have 1 of these boards at household plus 6 at operate... Replaced with a very good NIC bc the included 1 is aaaaawful

I purchased this product open box. I took a chance and I'm not regretting it! ALL accessories were in the original box/packaging and the create went devoid of a single hitch.EXCEPT: For these obtaining GPU LED lights, make sure the RAM is seated. This oversight on my part gave me the GPU LED which terrified me at initially.

Worked well - for four monthsStraightforward setupEasy OC Not great for SLI - very tiny room between the slots (this is obvious, but nevertheless a element)Reliability - 4months right after create, board beagn reporting CPU temp as 0CቼFASUS RMA 4 months immediately after developing a new method around this mobo I noticed the fan on my CPU cooler stopped altering speed so I checked the profile. I was shocked to see the temp reported as 0CቼF. I worked with ASUS tech support Ƒ rapidly email response & 1 took a week) then telephone TS ྯ min on hold then quite fast aid) to figure out it was a mobo problem and essential an RMA.ASUS offered a cross-ship which arrived swiftly. Upon receipt, I inspected the board and discovered an definitely bent CPU socket pin - it can be observed without magnification - bent cpu pins are a recognized issue with 1366 boards. I didn't count on a new board, but I did expect a quality refurb. I've now been waiting two days for a response. I'm hoping ASUS will do the suitable thing and not force me to spend to return this one particular also.Unless a thing adjustments substantially in the rest of this RMA method I'll stay away from all ASUS merchandise and suggest other people do the identical.

This board is amazing for it's price tag, but if you're looking for a great overclocking or gaming motherboard, there's superior out there; On the other hand, for the value of this motherboard, it's awesome. It keeps up with the big boys at overclocking and gaming. The appear is alright, not as well fond of the color scheme. Other than the color scheme, I have no cons. As I mentioned, there's better boards out there that carry out superior than the Sabertooth x58, but this is one particular hell-of a board for much less than 赨.

This is a rock solid board and was super easy to setup with my new program create. Paired it with an Intel core I7 960 and Kingston HyperX T1 6GB DDR3 1866. It functions flawlessly, is ultra quick and incredibly stable. Excellent seeking board too. The five year warranty is a good bonus. I am quite content with my acquire. You can' treally put a price tag on a trustworthy, stable motherboard. Asus did put a price on it although and it's extremely reasonable! The single PCI slot and its location on the board is the only gripe I have (and the purpose I only gave the board a 4 egg rating). If you have a regular PCI slot device, you will be unable to use it with this board if you have one of the bigger video cards that take up two slots. If you do, the video card will cover the only PCI slot. I was unable to connect my Auzentech XiFi Prelude sound card which is PCI and not PCIe. Not a total catastrophe, as their are two accessible PCIe slots. I just bought a newer PCIe sound card and all is effectively in the globe once again.

Straightforward setup, Great cost, works great SLI looks to be a challenge. Will have to almost certainly go with alternate cooling on the graphics cards. I gave this five stars mainly because though SLI will be a challenge, it's definitely not an impossibility. I bought this board for budgetary factors so to complain about some thing so trivial is just plain silly. You get what you spend for and this is a wonderful worth.
