Comment:
This a reliable and nicely constructed board. I've had no compatibility difficulties with pci cards, ram, hdd, or optical drives which, when you create alot of machines, tends to happen. Sound is above average for onboard and I don't get the clicks, static, and reverb that I have had on other boards. Much more usually then not ASUS makes stellar merchandise. This is a single of those items. Runs hot, PLUG THE SATA IN Just before THE GFX CARD. DO NOT use 90 degree sata cables that came with the card. Not really a con.. but.. don't bother with the asus utilities. Drivers yes but the utilities are fairly useless imop.

I liked the look and the TUF components. Not to mention the 5 year warranty. I built the computer last week, I wish I did not have to comment here, the very first Sabertooth I had to RMA. The develop went nice, I was running 2 320 GB SATA 2 drives on the intel RAID controllers (RAID ). Installed Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. Installed ok, reinstalled my games and stuff. Gamed for about 4 hours in the evening. Woke up the next day and it would not boot. Tried the Recovery disk and would get to the array in Windows install. Then said could not install on the selected drive. I messed about with it for hours, only way I could get it to operate, was not use RAID (IDE). I then yesterday I tried the RAID , once more. It installed once more reloaded about 85 % of my stuff, a number of reboots. about four hours it just died. And would not allow me to reinstall it on the drive, even though the array shows up in the windows install. I tried numerous occasions to install the drivers for the raid, from USB and the ASUS DVD. Newegg.ca was incredibly speedy to get the RMA going. I just hope it was a poor board. Fingers crossed.

Excellent Board. Enjoying it so far. Regrettably I didnt read into the chipset for the sataIII 6.0gb's if i had i would have bought a distinct board. Considering that I purchased two essential c300's capable of up to 710mb's in sataIII mode but the chipset only supports up to 400mb's in raid . Bummer but still get 500+mb on the ich10r chipset. If your trying to use SATAIII 6.0gb's in raid zero do not get this board unless you have a card to put into it.

Fantastic board. Operate very first time without issues. Alot of the memory troubles folks are having is due to not making use of memory from Qvl. People need to take their time and do a lot more study just before this board a negative assessment. None. My develop, I7 965ees sabertooth x85. Kingston 1866 memory. Corsair P3 128g. Sata6, raid0 WD velocity raptors 300gig, 1T WD green. 480gtx with 285gtx for phys. Creative sound card. Psu BFG LS 1250. Haf 932 case. Corsair h50 h20 cooler. This setup rocks as does newegg. My over clock four.3G ran stable for 24h. With prime95. Will go greater later. Thanks newegg.

CPU runs 3-5 degrees cooler with stock fan in comparison to other mobos. Thermal armor looks cool.Straightforward to use bios.ASUS AI Suite II makes life effortless if you want to update your bios, and the thermal radar feature is really neat. None so far. I advise this mobo bundled with a i5 2500k. Not too pricey, rapid and runs cool!

Nothing unique. This motherboard comes with two FAKE RAID controllers, the Marvell® 9128 PCIe SATA6Gb/s controller and the Intel ICH10R controller. The Marvell controller handles the two 6Gb/s SATA ports and the Intel controller handles the 6 3Gb/s SATA ports. Both of these controllers' FAKE RAID capabilities are terrible, and will leave you ripping your hair out and reinstalling your OS more than and more than. Also, the 6Gb/s ports actually perform significantly worse than the 3Gb/s ports. There are a couple of benchmarks out there you can search for if you are interested in specifics.I'm really disappointed that ASUS decided to consist of these two broken FAKE RAID controllers in 1 of their goods. I have been a loyal ASUS consumer for more than a decade, but this is really disheartening. Initially I set up a FAKE RAID1 volume on the Marvell controller. I installed Windows 7 and following a few reboots, the drives for the FAKE RAID1 volume were no longer in the volume. The only fix is to rebuild the volume and reinstall, but it will just take place once again. As soon as, I managed to get the Marvell drivers installed. It installs Apache internet server since the FAKE RAID manager is internet-based! Of course, the layout is broken in Chrome. So I disabled the Marvell SATA controller and tried the Intel ICH10R controller. I set up a FAKE RAID0 volume for my OS and a FAKE RAID1 volume for storage. The Intel controller is significantly worse, simply because its complications are far more subtle and insidious and take longer to destroy your program. The initial sign of trouble is that your FAKE RAID1 volumes will have to fully rebuild each couple of reboots. Your method will start out to randomly hang for no reason and then you will panic when Windows keeps rebooting prior to receiving to a login screen.Avoid FAKE RAID!

I got this board to compliment my i7-970 and my 24GB of DDR3-1600 ram, and it's wonderful! The Sata 6.0Gbps is wonderful and the overclocking a lot for anything that I would ever will need. None yet Typically a great mid-cost board for an i7 develop.

Looks good and the 5 year warranty is fantastic! First 1 caught on fire and newegg replaced it real speedy and with no hassles, Second board had issues with the PCI slots, and the third.. effectively the north bridge is more than heating. I'm contemplating moving to EVGA boards simply because Asus said Ŗ days to get it to us, 7 - 10 days for us to test it, two days to get it back to you". Are you kidding me!? Asus tech support guys are amazing and quite helpful however the policies that Asus holds are FAIL.2 eggs simply because I still appreciate newegg.

It came complete absolutely nothing missing. Bad MB right out of the box networking starts and stops.I am sick had to buy a new net working card to use in place of MB Net. Purchase a top end MB and you get bad parts.Wish I had a BioStar MB they often work very good.

I love this motherboard. It's elegant and was a breeze to install. However, my only concern was the lack of pci slots, since I had to purchase a pciex1 network card to replace the one I had since the GFX card blocks it.But, otherwise, it's a great buy.

Works great, I have had no problems given that I known as ASUS *See Beneath Had a issue with the 1st memory slot not operating. Installed memory in other slots and every little thing works fine. Hopefully it is not a precursor to future issues. Must of returned it, but just wanted my new rig up and operating. So far a month in a with all I purchased, I am completely pleased. My machine is BEAST!

Asus Sabertooth X58, Intel I-970 CPU, 24 gigs of Corsair Dominater DDR3 three channel 1600 RAM, An EVGA GTX 470 Graphics card, Critical 128 SATA III 6gbs SSD system drive, WD Caviar 1TB SATA III 6gbs HD, WD Caviar 1.5TB SATA II 3gbs HD and every little thing takes place instantly. I am protecting my processor with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus CPU cooler. When I built this system last week I connected everything up, started up the computer, wam bam thank you mam up comes the BIOS i configured the booth order, inserted the Win 7 Pro install CD and off to the races. No compatibility difficulties whatsoever. No glitches, no absolutely nothing, just a ideal running machine. The SATA III cables the board came with are actually nice SATA III cables with nice secure clips. The difficulty is that when you plug each SATA III cables in to the Sabertooth the "top" SATA III connector pushes against the "bottom" SATA III release latch makeing the "bottom" SATA cable lose. If you actually work it around you can get it to seat, but the couple of instances I've opened my case to give a tug to the bottom SATA III cable it pulls right out with No resistance. I replaced the cables and it locks in tight. If you only need to have 1 of the SATA III connectors then you will be just fine.

To answer blackfox72 question about running SLI with two 560ti..yes you can.Im running two 560ti in sli on this board with the fan speeds set to manual at 40% inside of cooler masters haf x. The temps I'm receiving at idle are 34-38cAnd between 54-62 for the duration of gaming.they are a tight fit but with some fantastic cooling you can do it.I enjoy this board!! It went smoothly by means of all test post and recognized all 12g of dominator memory.I haven't had 1 issue with this board however and thinking of purchasing a second for a client build. None to date.. Does what it's supposed to do.USB 3., SATA three., socket 1366.It also produces decent sound. You can't plug in both hi-def audio and AC97 at the identical time. It's one or the other for this board. You Cannot HOOK UP YOUR OPTICAL DRIVE TO THE SATA 2. PORTS! Just don't do it. It is not feasible. I spent a complete week performing troubleshooting and was about to RMA the board when I decided to plug the optical drive into the SATA 3. port rather. Worked wonderfully. Possibly my board is a small messed up due to the fact no 1 I talked to reported the similar problem. Excellent luck to you on this.-1 eggThe MCH runs a small hot. It's either the memory controller hub OR the northbridge. I'm not 100% positive what MCH stands for at this point. Mines hitting 60c and other people today report ranges from 55c to 68c. Some Sabertooth X58 owners believe it's mainly because of the raised CPU fan on bigger heatsinks nowadays. Which is what most of us have. With no fan blowing across the northbridge's heatsink it could be the trigger of the elevated temperature. Shouldn't be a difficulty though so lengthy as it's not going too hig To me, the color is ugly. Down right ugly. Paired with red and blue LED lights my case (that came as component of the CPU cooler and portion of the case fans) and coupled with the brown and magenta ugly red of the Noctua fans... the only factor that looks great about my create is the wiring that we did and the solid black of the case itself. When turned on all the clashing colors is just horrible.I would a great deal rather have preferred an all white motherboard or some thing. At least then it reflects heat a bit and is less difficult to function with/look at aesthetically.

- Uncomplicated to install and setup- Nice Appear- Enables for excellent airflow - The RAM slots are a small close for my liking, they are huge enough for the OCZ Reapers I install but I would like a little far more space. I never ever had to submit an RMA or anything. It worked perfect out of the box and fit perfectly Dreamer-X with room to spare.

Enjoy this MB. Very good layout minus you will lose a pci slot with a large G card (not certain why they cant solve this). Got all the fan's location's in the appropriate spot's, PC probe II function's fantastic. Booted perfect up n incredibly stable. Color O man in a blk Haf tower it looks killer. As stated will shed a pci slot with a large G Card which suck's, noth bridge run's way hot but there's a threaded hole in the sink to mount a tiny fan so do it. There's a NB fan plug perfect there so get a fan off of n old G card ya got laying around prob solved. then download fanspeed n you got total controll.
