Its a tiny quantity of thermal compound but it only takes a tiny bit for the CPU for that reason you can you it a number of occasions before you ran out. Small quantity for 12 bucks its not also undesirable.Excellent brand :)

Works as advertised. Messy Bought this to throw on a stock Athlon 62 X2 5600+ HS that had the practically 4yr old stock crud on it that began heating up a bit and now I'm operating cooler. I know it doesn't immediately start operating but will gradually commence dropping temps over time with the 200 hour break in but so far immediately after 4 days I'm already seeing an improvement in temps under prime95 heavy load.

If you are in the market for thermal grease, Arctic Silver 5 is a great choice. If you need increased stability, higher overclocks, or just lower temperatures for bragging rights, Arctic Silver 5 is a solid choice.

Follow up to my preceding positive review. After installation I was seeing ambient temps from 30-32. Now soon after about a months use, I've observed them fall to 26-27. Just keep in mind that the break in period that they talk about truly tends to make a distinction for the better! Still None As other individuals have talked about, download and adhere to the official guide from Arctic Silver. I did and its been amazing so far.

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
Cons:-didn't come with a box/case so the plunger doesn't get pushed in storage/carriage

Pros:-3~5 degree drop  just by replacing the old caked-on paste-easy to apply-multiple uses (be frugal, you really don't need much to spread over a whole CPU plate
Comment:
I'd drink it like it was coolaid.Manufacturers really enjoy skimping out on the thermal paste. Either that or Arctic Silver is just that much better. If you've got steady hands and know your way around a computer, it barely takes any time to replace the thermal paste on the CPU and GPU. The advantage of this is that you will see a visible decrease in the temperature (3~5 degrees)which gives more stability/headroom to your overclock.Product is also great just for replacing old, dried-up, thermal pastes.

Utilizing in conjunction with a new cooling fan, a SilenX EFZ-80HA2 Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler, and I'm seeing ambient temps around 29-30 with beneath load 35-36. Quite satisfied with each items. None Nevertheless have enough for at least a couple of a lot more installs, so definitely worth the money! Arctic Silver 5 rocks!

If you're thinking of purchasing a thermal compound, look no further. You can't go wrong with $10, and it's still the reigning champ of thermal compound.

I should have gotten 1 more pack. I tested it out right away.My CPU is slightly overclocked (from 3.6 to 4.23). Using stock fan and stock compound it was running 45°C and 60-65°C at load. With this compound I am running at 39-42°C and under load (I ran prime95 full test and Cinebench) it never got over 52°C. Wonder how low will it go if I hook up my air intake from outside.I do recommend this.

Dropped CPU temps by five-10C at leastUncomplicated to applyEnough to last numerous builds None to assume of Extremely Critical: Make certain, if you're replacing stock paste with this, that you get rid of the stock paste properly. Devote some time on Google studying how to do it appropriately! Goo-gone and paper towels will ruin your CPU (like it did mine).Use Isopropyl Alcohol (will evaporate off of the surface) and a NONE-FIBROUS CLOTH (microfiber operates extremely well, or coffee filters). Utilizing a paper towel or a thing will leave tiny fibers in the surface of the CPU, compromising cooling and function.

Does excellent with laptop cooling systems. The ointment oozes out of the tube surprisingly quick, difficult to monitor the quantity utilised. Before this I applied the grease in a bottle, zalman, what a joke.

Operates quite nicely Wasn't free? I used to use the Ceramique sort from A.S. but decided to go with this due to it's potential to cool better. This compound mixed with my new Hyper 212+ dropped my idle temps about 15 degrees celsius. My old idle temps are now my new full load temps, roughly 35 degrees celsius. I really feel this compound had a lot to do with it.

As always Arctic Silver delivers. 2600k I7 @ 4.5GHz stable and idling at 38C, gaming 60C, prime96 78C is the highest Ive observed immediately after four hours straight. ATM my case is in a very tight spot and therefore air circulation isn't optimal, will move soon and let her breathe, I am certain they will be even lower then! None. Fantastic item, worth the dollars.
