quite nice cooling. AMD cpu have usually run hot but this keeps it properly below what I was getting out of a lower model. B I G . Make positive you have plenty of clearance. Most likely wont fit in a standard case. I have a Thermaltake v9 case so no concern but this factor is H U G E dont think of obtaining it .....just do it you wont be sorry. My AMD Phenom ii x4 940 runs about 10 to 15 degrees cooler

Does a great job keeping my cpu cold. My cpu runs at 27c below a load. Can mount a fan on the other side and set it up for push, pull. Its a small on the major side. It's in a InWin case with a 240mm fan on the side cover and it just clears it.

This is a good replacement for a stock cooler. It is not developed (at least in my opinion) for overclocking. It does nevertheless have my machine running at 33C with a light overclock. The bottom portion of the device where the heatpipes are has massive ridges in between the pipes and the flat plate which touches the processor. This necessary substantially more thermal compound than normal in order to fill in these gaps, and I envision this will demand a significantly longer curing time. It is a tiny flaw and not adequate to eliminate an egg, but it is still a modest defect in style. I set my device up with an additional fan for push/pull. This is most likely the cause for the wonderful temps I am seeing.

Keeps my Phenom x3 at 25C-45C.Comes with thermal paste. The way to install this factor is terrible. The mounting bracket and switch are in two pieces. When I was attempting to install is the switch kept falling off and I ended up smearing thermal paste all more than. In the finish I got it locked in spot. For ฟ you can't seriously complain. If you're not on a super tight spending budget I'd advise the Hyper 212 or the V8.

Great cooler. Liked the style and every thing was as advertised..... except..... The unit came with brackets to add a second fan to the cooler. Sadly, 1 of the brackets was for an 80mm fan and the other was for a 120mm fan. I cannot add the second fan.I contacted consumer service and they got hung up on receiving the UPC code and serial numbers. Worse but, the photos on the site fail to show the extra set of brackets to be able to clarify what is wrong.The cooler is on and working, but I was expecting to be able to put the second fan on to do a push/pull combo. I love Newegg and this is the very first time I am contacting consumer support. It was disappointing to see consumer service come up brief of the greater excellent regular that the site and it's pricing display.My 1st non-5 egg rating. Disappointing. For the cost this factor is amazing. Does what its supposed to do and lowered my temps alot compared to stock amd fan. The socket clips had been slightly *huh?* at very first. Support and extra stuff for yet another fan None so far Lowered temps nearly 15c. Not loud at all actually.

Appears to cool really well on slight overclocked system. Good size for micro case. Very straightforward install on am2 micro board. Noise level is not too poor thinking of it's only a three pin connection and my mobo will only control fan speed with a 4 connect. Looks great,not overstated. Wish the mating surface covered the entire cpu. About a 1ቬ of an inch undersized for the am2 5200 chip. The direct heatpipe contact surface is Extremely roughly machined. How challenging is it to use a smoother grinding wheel folks?? The supplied coolermaster arctic paste acts like OLD item; Very dry and tough to spread even with credit card. The holdown bracket is just tight sufficient for the weight of the heatsink/fan. Its not going to break any records for holding pressure... I would purchase it again for the price. Superior have some great paste on hand, don't depend on the included stuff. I utilised the Antec product; Be sure and fill in the heatpipe grooves as one more reviewer stated. For the cost the minor headaches are not too tough to overcome. 1 can't expect perfection from such a discounted item.

Thinking of the cost of this cooler, what you get is quite good. The overall high quality is not poor at all for the cost. It is keeping my dual core a lot cooler than a stock heatsink would, specifically in my fairly stagnant case. It came with included thermal paste which worked just fine for my requirements, which weren't anything incredible. Came with the bracket to install a second fan for a push-pull setup which is nice if you want room to overclock or just want lower temperatures. Setting up the brackets was a bit of a discomfort. Mine was installed on a socket AM2, so the other brackets may well not be this way. It wasn't that it was challenging to figure out, just annoying to line up and clip into place whilst keeping the heatsink centered perfectly. Overall, I'd easily advise this for a replacement to a stock cooler, or for an individual searching to overclock a small. I wouldn't put this on high end processors, but for folks who want greater cooling on lower end or older processors it's a very great obtain.

Superior tower at a affordable value. I bought two and utilised the second 1 to make a push/pull HSF. none The shroud that hods the fan can be mounted on each sides of the heat sink. I removed 1 and reversed the direction of the fan. Mounted it on the initially one to create a push/pull HSF. Cools my AMD x4-620 very nicely,overclocked to 3.25Ghz.

Solid construction...... Instruction diagrams tough to read due to modest size (and poor eyes! LOL ), but was able to figure out eventually. Does the job it was designed for. Not currently attempting OC'ing.....

In the end it was the price that got me to buy it. It was a very nice cooler for my other computer. I am hopefully going to get another one soon for all of my family's computer to replace their stock cooler. In general its pretty quietI didn't do any ocing' yet but I predict a general small OCwould be fine for this tower cooler
