Comment:
The pictures are a joke this is bigger than the V8. My son has the V8. I got this for the dual fans. Mounted on an Asus Sabertooth w/I7-950, GSkill 1600 combo deal ram. V6GT clears all of the ram slots for this board. I have 12 GB ram. Get it if you have a full size case Antec 1200, HAF 932, HAF 942 X etc. The brackets are testy but perform. My Antec 1200 had a extra side fan but I had to eliminate it for this. This took almost ten celcius off my idle temp and throughout game play it quite significantly stays the very same throughout BFBC2. If you use a socket screw driver for your main 2 screw clamp it is so considerably much easier. Use metric sockets. The molex is for the light for those who couldn't get their light to work. Take away the fans prior to install and this becomes wicked simple.

Cons:Size, quality of the molex light connector pins.

Pros:Keeps CPU cool, looks good cases with windows and is generally good quality!
Comment:
I got this in January, and it's definitely a good quality piece. I wouldn't say it's a better alternative to water cooling but for my situation I decided to go with air cooling. It's a very good air cooler compared to stock and even other heatsinks like the hyper 212. What I found was that I barely had enough room to put my ram in the closest dimm, so I switched it to the second slots. Another thing I found was that the height discouraged placing one of the window fans on my case which isn't really a problem but it means less intake. When it got here I tested all the electrical connectors before putting it in my system and I found that the Molex connector for the LED lights was already broken on the one pin. Instead of sending it in for an RMA I just soldered on a new connector and it works fine now.All in all, I think it could have been a little better but I can live with it cooling my CPU.

This cooler is amazing! And Big. This is most likely the sharpest searching cooler I've observed. Has 3 different color schemes to fit any case, or to just mess about with. Comes with every single mounting bracket you'd ever require. None, if you have a gigantic case! Functions well and looks brilliant with Cooler Master's HAF X.

looks good, cools pretty nicely when very first mounted the amd retention brackets i 1st believed i mounted it incorrect due to the fact i couldnt replace the fans after getting to install the springed screws, turns out i didnt have the fans on properly, but have noticed that in no way can i remove the retention bracket now, seems as even though the best bracket has locking washers great cooler but big, barely fit in NZXT phantom had to take filter off of side pannel in order to close the case

Cons:Leaves it difficult to install Ram with metal casing

Pros:Excellent Cooling PowerSlick Look if you like the looks
Comment:
This heat sink is great, does a great job cooling and looks slick and install is simple and easy. Only con to me is that I had to take a metal casing off one of my sticks of ram to fit it in. The ram slot closest to the heat sink is where I took the casing off and re-applied the protection on the sides to fit all 4 RAM sticks in. 4 Stars.

This heatsink cools well. I built a 980x method and did a mild overclock - stable and fits nicely on my P6X58D Asus board. if you get memory with tall heatsinks or a memory cooler - be carefull. But this goes to say numerous aftermarket heatsinks/fans are going to conflict so if you want a thing that cools well and wont conflict.. A little water cooling setup is possibly the best way and they price roughly the very same. They are just as much and easy to setup. This product has poor screws that are shipped with it and I strongly advise that if you pick to buy it.. Replace them with your own. I broke a screw basic TAKING IT OUT and instead of returning the item I was impatient and wanted my Pc built.. I just put a darn weld on the thing! But I have heard of many persons getting the very same complications with this heatsink. Possibly the MFG can obtain some new screws and fix this concern with future batches. The heat sink looked like it would be great. the fans werent bad, no insane lights ( my case has orange lights so something else wouldve clashed colors), GIANT, and a fairly good base. This is NOT a heatsink issue, only a case compatibility problem. I have an NZXT vulcan, which advertises to fit 165 mm heatsinks. that is, nevertheless, if they can fit in the mesh pop-out on the side, which this 1 didnt. sent out an RMA for a rebate, got it in a week (newegg is good with this). so if you're searching at this and you have a smaller case, even one like the vulcan, pass this one by.

Incredible cooling power compared to the Intel heat-pipe fan sink. At four. GHz my i7-980 only got to 149F running Prime95. With the Intel cooler it was getting up to 194F, so it was roughly 55 degrees cooler! What a distinction, eh? Idle temp was about 110F, and the fans reduced to 1100 rpm, which was fairly darned quiet. I must also mention there was a lot of room to get at the RAM on my ASUS P6X58D. Pain in the patootie (darned censorship!) to install. The installation directions are Genuinely poor. But once you get the base figured out, it's smooth sailing from there. It's fairly tall, so I had to relocate my case fan to the outside of the enclosure. (Looks a little goofy now, but I'll live.) This factor is also pretty loud at full speed. 񢌘 rpm, 37dB) Blue and red colors appear fantastic, but the "purple" is very pitiful. I can't see anyone in fact working with this setting and getting happy with it. It looks a lot more like mottled red and blue than purple... I strategy on adjusting the temperature manage of the fan in the BIOS so that it doesn't run full speed at max load. If I can get to 4.5 Ghz and nonetheless maintain the temp around 176 with a quieter fan, I'll be a pleased camper. I'm incredibly glad I didn't have to go to water cooling. Kudos to Cooler Master on developing 1 impressive heatsink.

When my shipment arrived I began to install this and disccovered that as soon as of the tension springs/screws was missing from the kit - I practically returned the whole thing. This factor is amazing, not as loud as i believed it would be and the results are pretty much unbelievable. Virtually a 10 C drop on temp for all aplications. I use to run about 45-50 C on games and I haven't hit 40 since. It does such a fantastic job, I never ever lag now, load times are quicker and I can run at all the highest video settings with no difficulty. It is actually big, I have a mid tower and its a genuinely close fit. You require to take the complete motherboard out to install, which is a pain but you will want to do this for any heatsinks I thought I would just throw that out. I utilized a arctic thermal gel which almost certainly assists greater than what comes with it. Took about an hour to install. Overall amazing performance boost.

This factor keeps my CPU incredibly cool. I don't do any type of overclocking. I just wanted some thing that would keep the CPU cooler than the stock CPU cooler. Every single time I have checked the temps, I have been about 35C. I don't believe that is too poor. I am utilizing arctic silver for the compound, so i am hoping that the temp will lower some a lot more soon after break in period. I used mine on the i7-950 and I would have to say that I don't like the mounting brackets for the intel. Wish Cooler Master would of included the identical sort of brackets that they give you for the AMD. It doesn't tighten all the way down on the CPU. I tightened it down till the screws stopped and it still wiggles back and forth. I think getting four screws in every corner would be far better than the bar going across with only 1 screw on each and every side. For now it appears to do the job. I got a great price for it so I am pleased. I do hope that Cooler Master alterations the brackets in the future.I also don't hear the fans over my other case fans. It is very rather and smooth. I would say to go ahead and get it if you use AMD for your CPU. Get one thing else if you have intel.

On the ASRock boards it really cranks out the CFM, but had to RMA two boards so it was on and off 3 times. On the Gigabyte board is was hardly moving, believed I had a dead socket on the mobo, but went into bios and took it off autocooling and then it came up to full speed. The tech support was rather great for my problem and that was that the toggle switch that tech support stated in an e-mail allowed you to alter the colors of the LED color stripe. This does not function and one day it was purple and now it is stuck on red. The whole case is blue and to see a red stripe in there is annoying. The 2 egg is due to quality, not my annoyance Yes, it fit on my Azza case and it is not the easiest to install, but I am patient and a mechanic, so this was no issue with me. Depending on the location of your CPU connection on the mobo, you possibly hooking it up by feel mainly because you won't be able to see it. This went on a 1366 pin AMD 965 so I am questioning why some other people had troubles with it not fitting. Cool Master tech rep, if you reply to this don't ask me to send it back unless you are going to pay freight to and from Alaska (UPS Blue). Other wise I almost certainly will have to make this my own machine and sell my other Coolmaster 922 Intel 870 ASUS machine. (I construct and sell as a hobby).

1) Great style and specifications with Pull/Push cooling.two) Keeps my OC'd i7 2600K Ɣ.8GHz) below 30C for the duration of IDLE and under 60C under continuous load.three) Beautifully created & looks outstanding in my new build. ;-)four) Push button oil cap to turn on/off and alter led stripe colors (Blue, Red, and Purple). Gimmicky, yes, but cool. Not actually a ‘CON’, but read on and make a decision for yourself. My BIOS setting is set to 'Auto' CPU fan speed, which is working really effectively, but when this thing ramps up to 2200RPMs under load, it is surely audible. It is tricky to describe the audible level, as everybody has different tolerances as to what they think about ‘not too bad’, ‘loud’, and ‘annoying’. For me, if I am doing work on my computer, checking email, and/or surfing the web, then the technique is not under extreme loads, so the fans are operating at low speeds and can’t be heard over the case fans (see specs below), but if I am gaming and the program is under heavy load with the fans operating at high RPMs ƒ,000+), I still can’t hear them more than the game music and sound effects coming speakers or headphones anyway.Anyway, I hope that assists everyone whom is on the fence.I highly advise CM V6GT for helpful best-notch cooling, particularly if you are overclocking your CPU. My new PC Create for reference is as follows:- CM Storm Sniper 'Black Edition' - RAIDMAX RX-1200AE 1200W PSU- Intel i7 2600K (Rocken' at four.8GHz)- CM V6GT (Top-Notch air cooling for OC'ing i7 2600K)- G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB- ASRock P67 Extreme 6 (This thing ROCKS!!!)- ocZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD, SATA III (Incredible)- Western Digital VelociRaptor 600GB, SATA III- Dual EVGA GTX 580 - SLI

Keeping issues cool. At idle the processor is running about 28-30 C. Did an hour long tension test 鲤% cpu usage) and it maxed out at 45.five C.The install wasn't too poor. I of course took my mobo out. Everything fairly much fit like a charm. Big, practically too major. Lucky my side panel (on a Thermaltake Soprano) cleared it, but only by about 1ǚ".Nonetheless, I'm losing my 1st ram slot, and maybe even my second, this is on a Gigabyte 890 board. I'm utilizing Corsair with tall heatsinks.. so If I upgrade my ram I guess I'll just go for larger memory....Also, my side panel has space for 2 fans, the v6 obviously blocks the top 1, but I believed I could use the bottom. I ordered a sorta pricey Xigmatek 120 MM fan with this, to put as an exhaust on the lower component of the side panel for the GPUs. However it won't fit by about 1ቬ".. so close! I could have gotten a 100 MM, but I believe I'll just drill a couple of holes in the side panel for now and have the glass shop make me a custom panel later (out of acrylic of course)... The heatsink/fan I got w/ my AMD 955 Phenom II sucked. Period. It didn't cool all that properly, and would rev up to like 5-6k although gaming making a loud hum.I matched this with some Tuniq TX-4. The TX-four is non-conductive which is good since I put just a smudge to significantly on (did the line not the pea or spread) and it squashed over a bit.About the only complaint I could have that isn't worth knocking an egg off it just isn't intuitive on how far to tighten the screws on the mounting bracket..with the springs. I was afraid to more than tighten..but maybe this was just silly anxiety as this was the very first cooler like this I've mounted. Every little thing is cooling well so I'm confident its fine.

Definitely nice heatsink/fan ! I got a motherboard ASUS P7P55D-E Pro with a Intel i5 750 processor. Prior to, my CPU was running about 42 to 49 on idle and about 65-75 on full charge. Now, he's running about 31-33 on idle and around 40 on full charge ! Great heatsink/fan ! I didn't measured my case before i bought. I got a Thermaltake Wing mid case. I need to cut the side of the panel to fit the enormous heatsink/fan. I'm truly happy of this addon !

Not sure, in no way got it installed. Mount included for the LGA1366 socket basically will not line up with the screws in the bracket supplied to lock the fan down. You can install each of the side arms for the socket in one of two approaches and the holes are either to far apart or to close together for the bracket to fit them. If you install one arm every way then it's off center and will not mount effectively, though the screws Nearly line up like that. I am an engineer. Trust me. It doesn't fit LGA1366 sockets.Board I used: ASUS P6X58D-E LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3. This is a very stylish cooler. Yet, that style comes at the cost of some real-estate in your case. When I first had it installed in my Antec 900, I had to remove the side VGA fan, and this particular cooler leaves very little clearance with the RAM.That being said, the performance is outstanding. In my current case, idle temps on my i5 2500k never run above 31 degrees. If you are looking for something that stands out, and provides great cooling, definitely consider the V6GT.

Huge heatsink, superior airflow. Can be installed to blow out the back, or leading of case if you have the space on your board to fit it sideways. Undoubtedly not for the a lot more narrow format boards. Fit in an Antec 300 mid tower. Looks remarkable. Got about 5 degrees cooler just installing it, nonetheless have to wait for the thermal compound to break in. Installation was fine though some could come across it challenging. I installed it myself but one more pair of hands could be valuable. You will be removing your board and commonly disassembling your pc to install this monster. Huge! Case, RAM, and northbridge heatsink clearance all within nanometers. will not fit on cramped motherbaords, or play nice with tall RAM such as OCZ Reaper unless your board is really spacious. I've observed some ASUS boards that would be a good fit for this but it barely made it on my MSI NF980-G65. GSKILL Ripjaws RAM fit underneath. Not a concern if you have the space but do your measurements just before purchasing. A little costly.. Do your measurements. the CoolerMaster web page has detailed schematics with clearances in millimeters.
