Works as it's supposed to, no difficulties. Of course it does not take a PHD to use these factors either. But it's solid and good. None. Forgot to mention that it is rugged, as advertised, my 9 year old ran over it with his 4 wheeler (it fell out of my pocket) and it nevertheless works completely.

It is virtually indestructible. I normally keep it on my important ring and it goes everywhere I go. I do a fantastic bit of aquatic investigation and if it gets dirty I just wash it under the sink. Very nicely built and the cap is tight fitting. Speed, but this isn't their GT drive and frankly, how quite a few men and women are going to really will need that significantly speed on transportable storage? It tends to make an awesome baby teething toy. My 9 mo old niece wants it every single time she comes to the residence and has beat it, chewed on it, and thrown it on the floor repeatedly. If it can survive that, I do think it can survive just about anything.

Loads of space, wonderful case, modest enough for keys but huge sufficient to not slip involving cracks. Slow loading and unloading of files. much better to ZIP the files than to upload/download multiple files. Firewire in fact does a number of files quicker than USB 2.Turn into an NTFS instead of FAT32 to fix this (must do protected removal each time in NTFS) Great for storage hogs

Incredibly rugged, no troubles carrying it in my pocket, tool kit, and so forth. I'm not about to drop it in my beer, but it's very good to know it's also water resistant just in case. Wonderful for backing up user information, and typically enough room to shop your .mp3 collection along with the tools I use for work. Avoid utilizing it without the extension cable; it has some weight, and the connector will bend if it's bumped; it may well even commence to sag just over time from its personal weight. I don't see making use of much more storage than this outside of an external HDD, at least at this point.

Like i said i ran it over (back and forth four or so instances) and it still worked with just some cosmetic scratches so concerns of ruggedness ought to be answered. as far as the USB its self it quite standard. wish they created it out of steel so that it wouldn't deform or scratch so effortless. the finish of the USB is kind of massive to it could not play nice with other USB sticks but it comes with a USB extender just in case.

This rugged flash drive is a great cross amongst capacity, speed, and durability. Persons will undoubtedly take notice when you go to plug this factor into your machine. Looks like something out of a spy film. A bit clunky since of the aluminium housing, so might not fit well into thin laptops or tight-profile ports. The important-ring hole along the leading makes it challenging to attach to essential-rings. The integrated chain functions okay, but I would have preferred a ring or clip instead. A co-worker ran over his with a vehicle, and it was untouched. These issues are bulletproof!

High Capacity. Sturdy. Slowest flash drive I have ever utilized. I wanted to use it for periodic backups of about 8GBs. Not doable at these speeds. Takes a total day of function to copy what I require. I'm using one more brand 16GB drive for the backup. Not indestructible but I can copy what I want a lot more rapidly. when i saw this drive i had to have it. My last 2 drives were broken though attached to my keychain. This wont occur yet again... i assume. Its not all that huge, i use it as the primary element of my crucial chain and it fits in my pockets just fine... i do agree its greater that most other drives out there proper now. i don't have any... so far i really feel that the transfer of files to and from the drive don't seem as slow as individuals make them out to be. if you ever get in to a bar fight the drive fits in the palm of your hand just proper preventing broken fingers.

Looks great and solid. Doesn't do what it's supposed to do, which is function as a USB drive. I have now gotten 2 of these (first was replaced for the exact same issue) and the every single time the drive has turn into "read-only" on it's personal. There is no switch I could accidentally flip, and going by their web site I'm not the only one this has happened to. Really disappointed with this product, will not be shopping for Corsair in the future.

I have been wanting to get a 16gb USB jump drive for a extended extended time and newegg had it for ื.99... Fantastic DEAL. This is replacing a 2gb drive that I have used for at least five years now. I have LOTS of space now. Enjoy IT!!! Following I got it I went back and read the Details once again and no where can I find the physical size in the description? This is a Major HONKIN Jump Drive. It measures three.25" lengthy and if you measure close to the center circumference it is two.75" and if you measure around the ends exactly where the rubber rings are it is three.". Of course this is the CASE measurements. As soon as you take away the actual drive from the protective steel case it is not substantially larger than my old jump drive but it was a SHOCK when I initially saw it out of the box. It also comes with a little USB cable that you can use in case this Large monster will not fit in a tight space exactly where your USB drives are at. Sticking out from my laptop it looks like I have a throttle on it... LOL

Comment:
Quite sturdy construction. The outer casing has bumps, scratches, minor dents even, not a spot on the drive. Water, rain, absolutely nothing at all. The lengthy style lets you stick it where other flash drives can't get in, but the nub at the major sometimes interferes with pluggin in other devices in adjacent slots. The transfer speeds are typical to under common. Below Vista 64 SP1 ㅂmb writes & ㅌmb reads. Compared to about ㅛmb restrict of USB 2. bandwidth, there is a lot of space to improve, and a lot of other brands are finding much closer to that ballpark, in particular on the reads. None that make as sturdy an enclosuer tho. The enclosure is on the borderline of becoming too bulky to carry in your pocket. It looks far more like a mini maglite flashlight than a usb flash drive.

Fantastic style, rugged and practically indestructible casing. 16GB for under 50 bucks is tough to beat. Decent speeds, but not rapid by any indicates. Crapped out after Incredibly LIGHT use. It worked fine one particular night, but when I plugged it in the subsequent morning right after it had sat on my desktop overnight, XP wouldn't recognize it. I attempted it on my vista desktop, no go. Attempted it on my laptop w/ w7 and exact same deal. I couldn't do anything with it. Couldn't get any of my files from it, and couldn't reformat it in an try to get it working again. I lost a semester's worth of homework assignments and some work connected spread sheets as nicely as all of the drivers and software program that I use for my Pc builds. Completely devastating (but I'm not a newbie, I had all of those files on an external HDD) Nevertheless a Big let down. I submitted RMA to Corsair...Dear Joey,We wanted to let you know that we have received your return package for RMA number ### Your returned item is staged for critique by our returns department, and we will be contacting you shortly with regards to repair or replacement. Please note we are presently experiencing delays with warranty replacement shipments, please let for an further five enterprise days for processing.Sincerely,Corsair Returns DepartmentPerhaps their encountering a delay simply because they are overwhelmed with their faulty products acquiring sent back? I bought some extremely touted XMS RAM from Corsair also. 4GB and it only registers as two.75GB on two unique MOBO/systems. Unacceptable. From now on, I'm only purchasing G.Ability RAM, and I'll under no circumstances acquire anything Corsair once more.

Like other individuals have stated this factor is a beast. Incredibly durable and appears to be virtually indestructible. Now I haven't driven more than mine or gone scuba diving with it but I have to say you don't have to be gentle with it. Lots of storage that I use to back up my documents, music, and photos so I can constantly have them on the go. The extension cable is a nice plus as nicely. The only con is what others have already pointed out. This factor can be really slow. When I initially synced it up, it took about 15 minutes to load with eight gigs of information. Not a issue now mainly because I only sync up the changes but nonetheless worth value and nevertheless deserves 5 Eggs! To Corsair - the dogchains were great but a basic lanyard would've been far better for carrying about. Just a suggestion for future iterations.

Great capacity for the cost. Solid construction. You can't contact this a thumb drive unless you're Andre the Giant or Shaq. This thing is physically Massive. 2 cm diamter, 8.5 cm length. It is like carrying three full length USB drives bonded collectively. I wish both barrel ends came off of it. laptop customers or individuals with several usb ports in use might be annoyed by the round back finish of important.

It's a 16gig corsair flash drive in a solid aluminum tube with a water tight o-ring to keep it dry. How can you not like that? No pre-loaded b.s. on it like the drives with U3 (avoid these).` The aluminum tube tends to make it kinda bulky, so although its hanging off my keychain every person wants to know what it is (its enjoyable to get inventive with the answer). Transfer speeds on this drive are a bit slower than I've knowledgeable with other drives, but it IS trusted so I won't complain as well a lot about the speed. 1 of the rubber 'tread rings' on the casing really feel off following 2 weeks, but thats not genuinely a big deal either. I would buy it once again, although I don't believe the corsair dog-tag was seriously essential. I'm an IT student who pays for school working in a warehouse, so its nice to have my critical issues on my keychain at all times and not have to be concerned if they get knocked around at perform a bit.

high capacity storagereasonably low-cost (with rebates)incredibly high good quality physical package. Survivor is the ideal name for this product! SLOW for my use as a VMware virtual machine disk. This was painfully slow. So painful that I won't use it this way. I'll use it for periodic backups rather.physically greater than other usb flash drives. it's generally a normal size usb stick inside a machined metal screw on cap. The size doesn't bother me at all but may bother some. I was very impressed by the physical excellent and really feel of this device. I was really disappointed by the incredibly slow access instances. A 4200RPM laptop disk in a USB situation is orders of magnitude quicker. I bought it to maintain crucial VMware virtual machines on for regular use. I saw other critiques saying slow overall performance but it seemed big files had better performance. My VMware files are measured in GB so I although I was clear - no luck. I'll use this for weekly backups instead of day-to-day use.

I got two of these for function. I have had them a couple of days. They perform like a charm. No difficulties. They don't seem fairly as sturdy as they say in the description. The aluminum tube isn't incredibly thick. It should nevertheless be rugged though. They bench marked at 20mb read and 6mb create for me.

The container and construction of the unit are Outstanding, and certainly protect it from water harm (tested). The data transfer speed To/From the unit is very quickly for significant files, and the 16 gigabytes goes a long way. Becoming Corsair memory provides me alot of self-confidence given their nicely-documented testing and product top quality. As other people have reviewed, the Survivor is not excellent for Archiving, specifically I have located in archiving significant numbers of files. If tansferring a single 1.5 or 2 Gigabyte archive file To the unit is quickly, but backing up my laptop's files (hundreds of files) slows the write speed down significantly. Clearly it is the File Management of the memory stick that is the slow aspect, where the memory itself and I/O speed are equivalent to all like-flash memory. Corsair sould revise this in the subsequent release. Worth the money if you take your flash everywhere you go as I do, the water-tight aluminum casing tends to make the distinction!
