AOK - works as expected
Comment:
Purchased to access SATA from dead motherboard. This adapter works and is not a problem to use. My system took a while to see it, but that is a problem with my system, not the adapter. Try it, you'll like it.

Good product!
Comment:
Nice solid construction - all the parts you need to talk to bare IDE or SATA drives of all types. Used it on a couple of 2 1/2" and 3 1/2" drives with no problems - it all just works. No computer tool box should be without one!

It's a no brainer, easy hook-up, works great. As a novice it's nice to have a device that doesn't require a call to the kids to figure out how to use.

This thing worked like a charm.i needed to pull a disk on my old laptop that died and get info out of it. This thing worked like a charm. I also use it at work cos i have a lot of hard drives sitting at my desk. This is a great deal. Other websites like amazon dont even come close.

Any drive, any where
Comment:
Pros: Works with all IDE and SATA hard drives, CD drives and DVD-RW drives I have tried. Worked flawlessly with Win2K, XP and Vista 32. Greatly appreciate the power switch. Cons: Would like to see a slightly longer cable and would like all of the drive connectors molded into a single cable instead of some that are loose. Sometimes it is just a touch short for PCs that are under desks. Functional Review: I am a computer professional for a large health care company. We currently order PCs without DVD drives. When the need arises, locally installing software can be challenging to say the least. I have used this adapter with several different CD and DVD-RW drives to install software and when necessary write off configuration data such as Internet Favorites and such. I have also used it personally in conjunction with Acronis software to image a new SATA HD from an old IDE HD. This has become an invaluable tool for me on a weekly basis.

Works Great...But...
Comment:
Works great. Only problem I have is all the different cables you can easily lose. I'd love one simple cable that does it all without any short SATA cables to lose...

WOW!!!!! Great product, I was skeptical about the quality, but its definitely built right, easy to use, works as advertised, it will read all non-bootable HDDs for one reason of another, viruses, corruption of files etc, it will not read damaged HDDs, I was able to recover all my important files, as you all know, some of us forget to backup our data, :)P It work flawlessly on Vista Ultimate x64, no problems what so ever, it a must have tool, for home or work. Buy one, you will be very happy that you have one in your tool box.

This is a great product. It worked perfectly and I'm very pleased with it. I was thinking of buying an external hard drive and this saved me money by using a drive I had taken out of an old computeer. 6 Stars.

Cables to Go USB 2.0 to IDE or Serial-ATA Drive Adapter Black

High quality product. Good cables fit snugly in my new hard drive. One feature that one might overlook when browsing this item is the on/off switch on the power cable. One need not unplug the drive connected via usb cable. One need only use the ''safely remove'' control in Windows, then shut off the power switch on the adapter cable. Turning the switch back on loads the drive. This was a good alternative to a dock, as I couldn't find one that handles both SATA and IDE drives.

I got a new Cyberpower pc gaming computer with vista home premium 64 bit and wanted to transfer the files from my ide slave to my sata slave without movin too many drives around. This worked perfectly, not only did it move 300 gigs for me there wasnt one error between the xp and 64 bit os. If there was a 6 I could rate on this product I would!

5 Stars. As a data retriever, this makes things a lot easier. Now, when people come to me with a down laptop or pc, I can remove the drive and just connect the cable to it. I can even quarantine for viruses.

One word can sum up this product...flawless! If you deal with various PC throughout the day buy one or a couple of these now. If you ever have a user get a virus and you must reinstall their PC. Pull their old drive and hook this up to a working PC to pull their data off. Put a new drive in their original PC and let the OS install. While you are pulling off their data you are also installing a new OS on another drive. Flawless...best hardware I have bought in a while...

I got this adapter when my daughters laptop SATA drive became unbootable. I was easily able to plug it into my computer using this adapter to copy her files off prior to doing a system restore. This cable is perfect for accessing hard drives thru your usb port. I would highly recommend it.

Tested all systems types, all ran perfectly. If power down or unplug, may have to do full power up cycle to get to recognize. 2.5 drives not needing external power (sata & ide)works fine and is the only way I run them now (I had some earlier drv failures on other enclosures feeding power that may have burned out the drives?) I repair computers and have run about 100 drives thru this device. The most convenient use is when I have to de-virus a system, so just run the drive thru my own system, so viruses can't start with client OS and with this adapter, I usually don't have to remove the HD from the case. Caution: the IDE tab index is a loose fit, make sure alignment is correct before pushing on.

This cable worked great. I was able to recover the hard drive from my old Gateway laptop that we were unable to power up due to a bad power input. I just plugged in the drive and then plugged in the cable to my pc and it was recognized immediately. I now use that as another external drive.

This is a great tool to have. I bought this simply to test an old optical drive and I got my results. I need a new drive :P This thing is solid and very well crafted. It does not feel cheap at all. Anyone that is even slightly savy when it comes to hardware should have one of these! It's a great diagnostic tool. It's simple and worth the $.

Got to work right of the box. This unit did a great job. When you are faced with the problem of not being able boot, this will definitely do the trick. You do have to pull out your hard drive from the tower but this is a great unit for very little money. If you have to take your computer in to a tech, you will spend much much more.

At least one of these should be in every tech's tool box. It does not mention linux support on the box but it worked slick for me recovering over 20 gigs of files from a badly damaged Ubuntu laptop. I pulled the 2.5'' SATA drive, hooked it up, plugged it into another Ubuntu laptop's USB port. The target laptop recognized and mounted the drive and in no time the job was done. Worth every penny and then some.

For value, features, and quality it would be hard to beat this unit. Performance is very good, but people need to have patience with plug and play depending on your computer and OS it might take a few tries to get it right. I found the directions to be fairly decent and they only cover Hard Disk Drives (3.5'' and 2.5'') IDE or Serial-ATA HDD.
