Cons:Mic tends to be temperamental Could have cam with a audio jack like some other headphones

Pros:Good bassnice and big for those that wear glassesnice long chord with volume controlgood sound isolation
Comment:
Overall for the price I paid for them, the headphones are generally worth its weight in green ($45 sale), but at it's regular price I would rather buy Turtle Beach or Steel Series headphones instead

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Comment:
This headset is quite clear sounding. It does a great job throwing the noises into a realistic surround sound, numerous times I will have to take off the headset just to make confident the sound is actually coming from the headset and not the speakers.Great high and mid levels. Extreme comfort, only elevated by the feeling of the sound coming from a distance, versus right on your ear.Interesting small program came with it to modify the levels, and hows the sound is played.Listening to music I seriously noticed parts I have by no means heard. Incredibly much so with games(maybe not getting the heavy bass is letting more sounds coming out?) The bass lacks some punch to it. Making use of the mixers and such I have been able to enhance this a bit, but it appears to lack a lot of substance. This is a seriously great headset, Games sounds amazing, music is wonderful, and the mic is good and clear. The USB was a big attraction mainly because i can plug it proper into my keyboard and have a good remote setup.Only downside would be watching action packed movies with hell raining down in explosions or rap/hip hop. A system with superior mid range would be recommended.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:None so far.

Pros:Comfortable, easy to set up, quality craftsmanship, excellent sound
Comment:
Comfortable headset with great sound, especially for the sale price. Sufficient quality sound for gaming and general use - probably not up-to-par for audiophiles, but after all, this is a gaming headset, not music headphones. Easy to set up, and no issues thus far. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:-Kind of awkward to handle-Mic boom isn't long enough

Pros:-Good Sound-Comfortable
Comment:
I liked these headphones while they worked, but I'm going have to strongly advise people not to buy them. There's a problem where the wire meets the headset that causes it to come loose and makes the headset lose sound on left side. It happened to the first pair I had within a month and the same thing happened to the replacement pair they sent me after about seven months.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Comment:
I've now owned the Corsair HS1 for practically 2 weeks and employed them exclusively at my laptop or computer, wearing them for at least 8 hours everyday working and playing. The comfort is remarkable and the Dolby Headphone feature truly does make listening additional comfortable as well. Like the video from Corsair stated, it provides a strange sense of spaciousness that doesn't make extended listening uncomfortable. When initial wearing them, it typically felt like the sound was coming from my speakers rather than the HS1.With games and movies, this headset is remarkable. Bad Corporation 2 is an superb game to test any surround sound headset with. With my prior speakers, the action was a incredibly loud and powerful mess. Although it sounded impressive it created it impossible to identify particular noises. The HS1 created identifying noises in five.1 incredibly easy and the battle about me sounded even far more impressive than with my prior setup. You can expect the similar type of performance from movies. Music is perhaps the HS1's only weakness. Listening to music in stereo was lackluster to be honest.Nevertheless, though this is not something I normally do with music, I found that listening to music in five.1 with Dolby Headphone enabled improved my listening experience a lot. The headset, as mentioned numerous times before me, does have a rather lackluster bass by default for most men and women. If this is an concern for you, it is incredibly effortless to change with a couple of tweaks to the equalizer.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:Nope

Pros:Great soundQuick and easy switches7.1 = epicSoftware
Comment:
This product is really top notch, I use it for Skype and gaming. It has a flawless transition from when you plug it in to when it is running, the software just does it for you and there are no Skype resets required for the headset to function. The 7.1 capability is surprisingly functional. I am continuously taking my headset off to check if my speakers are on, therefore Id say that the directional features work. Some might say that the bass is a little weak, but I mean this is powered by a USB port.... Just buy a more complicated mess of a headset if you need more head rattling bass. For me this one is perfectly balanced.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:Free shipped with Purolator, my second worst online shopping experience of all times!

Pros:Comfortable, long cord, clear sound, color scheme
Comment:
This headphone is well worth $38.99, I would even buy it at its regular price. The USB model is good for my laptop with a poor on board sound. When I plugged the headphone into my main computer, which has a creative X-Fi platinum sound card, the creative software no longer affect the sound quality; instead, the Corsair software takes over competely, while muting my speakers. It's like the headphone disabled the creative sound card.Overall, this headphone is a good product worth buying. On the side note, I have to mention that free shipping with Purolator has been a nightmare. The delivery person came to buzz my apartment three times in two days, but he never came upstairs after I unlocked the security door in the lobby, neither did he leave the pick up slip!!! I ended up calling purolator, and picking up the package myself after a week... Very disappointed with Purolator!!!

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:Lacks bass, harsh treble, recessed midsUncomfortable to wear around the headKind of heavy - prolonged use may be an issue

Pros:Good fit around the ears -> good isolationNice thick padding on topSolid build qualityDecent mic
Comment:
I bought this mainly to use at a computer lab or with my laptop where the sound cards are non-existent. Overall, good value at the surprise special price of ~$40.First off, I have no idea why the cans can be fully turned to one side. This is usually for portability reasons, but the microphone sticks out awkwardly when you do this making it a moot point. The build quality is solid, but I found the headset as a whole to be on the heavy side. As such, they are not the most comfortable things to wear while laying on a bed. The fit around my ears was good which lead to proficient isolation.Initially, when testing music, I found the headset to be horrible. However, when I installed the drivers, I found the sound quality improved drastically. Bass is lacking in general, but the drivers made it more prominent (especially mid-bass). My problem is that it sounded a bit on the bloated side and not as tight as I prefer. The treble seemed to dominate the mids to the point of being on the harsh side. All these things were partially fixed by playing with the EQ. To be honest though, I wasn't expecting much as "gaming" headsets aren't known for being high fidelity. Other than that, soundstage was okay for closed cans and the surround sound worked as intended. On a skype test, the microphone performed well according to my test subject. Not too much background noise was picked up and to a large extent, I came in loud and clear.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:Nothing seriously USB headphone with that much comfort and quality for 40$ I was feeling like I stole ncix even at 100$ these headphone are a deal

Pros:Comfort is top notch, good sound quality: the 7.1 is well emulated.
Comment:
Buy them can't see how you would regret. The only point that could play against is the faq that they are usb so they will only work on a pc. Tested the 7.1 with a dvd with THX test on it and it was perfect. Compared to my audiotechnica ATH-M20 they give near as solid stereo performance, a better comfort, 7.1 surround emulation and a mic.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:Heavy, but I haven't worn any headset for a decade or so...

Pros:Great Software, Comfortable, well isolated
Comment:
I've been using basic level entry Logitech speaker for the longest. Found these and special and not being that much an audiophile I figured I'd give it a shot.WOW! Just amazing! Downloaded the software from their website, hassle free installation. When not gaming & listening to music I use Two channel stereo with Dolby Headphone activated & 7.1 Virtual Shifter. Gaming I switch to 5.1 audio! Also I switch effect to bass when listening to music since I mostly listen to trance, hard trance, etc.. Multiple choices for effects, either preset or configure your own for people that know how to use frequency properly!

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:- I haven't found anything yet; no complaints- Would be nice if they could be used for consoles as well

Pros:- Amazing sound- Seem quite durable; should last quite awhile- Very comfortable with the memory foam- Price was great (~$40)
Comment:
I've had these for a few days now and tried them to listen to movies, games, etc. The sound quality is by far the best of any headphones I've used. Very balanced sound; not too bass heavy, treble has good range. They are also very comfortable and snug. At the price I got them at, it was practically a steal.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:-sound card dependant-lacking in low end, sharp highs

Pros:-good noise isolation-large and comfortable earcups
Comment:
I bought this as a weekly surprise special and at that price tag it is definitely a decent deal. The headset is very comfortable for prolonged use and it isolates enviroment noise fairly well. The sound quality is very mediocre, which is to be expected at this price level. I have access to the analog version of this headset as well and the sound difference between USB and analog + xonar sound card is minor. However, there is a major difference when using analog + on-board sound so I recommend USB version if you don't have a dedicated sound card. Overall, good budget peripheral when on sale but if you are an audiophile looking for quality sound, look elsewhere. This review was modfied by poster @ 08-14-11 10:18 PM

Cons:-Bass lacks-Music performance

Pros:-Comfort-Mic quality-Gaming performance
Comment:
Another good product by Corsair. I bought this on sale for $39 so it was quite the deal. It's a great product for the price, great for gaming use and very comfortable, however lacks in the music/bass area. I don't think this is worth it at regular price but if it's on sale, I would say it's a good product for what it's intended for.

Comment:
Appear GoodComfortableExcellent SoundSoftware uncomplicated to use In spite of the reality that my microphone spent 99% of the time in the up position and was rarely used, it will no longer remain in location when required. Rather than the firm clicks that held it in place when new, there are now two position alternatives: All the way up, or all the way down.I've moved the mic almost certainly 15 times due to the fact I've had it... I would love to give this headset four-five eggs, but contemplating how gentle I've been, its wonderful that a fundamental function is entirely broken.

Cons:Drivers a bit hard to find on Corsair websiteUSB so use on computer onlyHaven't figured out if I can turn off the blue LED remote, but at least the LED is not blindingly blight

Pros:Build quality, this things feels strongEarcups are comfortable and accomdating for large headsSoftware is good, options to switch to 5.1 or 7.1, but have to manually switch presets
Comment:
This is great. I wear glasses and this is very comfortable, no pinching at all, earcups cover full ear with room to spare.Braided cord is really good, feels strong.USB only so only use with computer and not other devices.Music sounds great and FPS is good. For other uses like podcasts, youtube videos, you'll probably want to turn off 7.1 or things have an echo.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:- Audio needs to be tweaked in software (But not a major con)- Would have been nice to have more info in the manual for that corsair audio software

Pros:- Extremely well built - Very comfortable - Audio is good when tweaked in software- Good mic sound
Comment:
These headsets are extremely comfortable and the audio is pretty good. I've got them for sale at 39.99 and can say that I'm pretty satisfied with my purchase. To get good and crisp sound quality make sure you turn on Dolby 5.1 or 7.1 in the corsair audio software. You'll need to tweak bass in the "effects" tab. Make sure you turn on 5.1 option in games as well. I'm suprised by the quality of these headphones. It's very well built.

Cons:none that i can think of

Pros:comfortabledurablelong cordvolume control on cord
Comment:
i love these headphones! they sound amazing. i was a little nervous purchasing them because i read that some people said the bass was lacking. im not sure if they went into the software and changed anything though. before fiddling with the corsair software, it sounded a little flat. but after tweaking it, its sounds even more clear and crisp and the bass is great. i dont think id like anymore bass to be honest. i listen to electro/house/trance and it sounds better than my speakers!p.s. for some reason, after installing the corsair software, nothing came up. i thought maybe all it was were drivers so i just left it. a week later the program randomly pops up at which point i edit the settings. sounds 100x better.if they go on sale again id recommend them definetely!

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:-volume control in a bad spot, on the cord, which hangs down really low and can fall off my chair. It'd be better if it was a foot higher up the cord-volume buttons feel unsensitive and cheaply made (it says made in China on the back)-barely any bass for this headset compared to a Logitech G35

Pros:-comfortable-feels durable-decent sound quality-braided cable-very configurable software
Comment:
Overall, a decent surround sound headset, with decent sound quality. It feels comfortable and durable. I got this to replace my Logitech G35, which broke at the headphone and headband. Compared to it, the mic on the G35 was a lot better sounding, and there was a lot more bass. I feel the G35 is a better headset, but the HS1 is more durable.I'd recommend the G35 over the HS1, but to be honest, both are overpriced.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:none

Pros:Good sound quality, comfortable, great mic
Comment:
This is a very nice headset at a fairly decent price. When compared to my Sennheiser PC350 (paired with an ASUS Xonar Xense), the mic quality is only slightly worse (which is pretty damn good). The sound its self is great and, again, nears the quality of my $300 Xonar Xense package. It is comfortable and is great for laptops without the luxury of an add-in sound card.

Comment:
I got these to replace some aging Sony open-ear headphones I use and I don't regret a thing. The ability to plug/unplug them and keep my speakers still plugged in is a huge bonus after having to swap cords all the time. The sound quality is also top notch and definetely a step above my mobo-supplied sound processing.

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Cons:Bass is a bit lacking.

Pros:Comfortable, good sound, sturdy, decent software.
Comment:
I've read a lot of people complain about white noise with this headset but I have not had that problem at all, these are completely quiet with no apps running. The sound quality is great, games and even music sound very crisp and clear. I do have to say that the bass leaves a bit to be desired, and I'm not normally someone who wants tons of bass. With the included software though there are a lot of options to tweak the sound to your liking, and I've found that my games sound amazing now. Don't get me wrong the bass is good it's just guns and explosions don't quite have the impact that they might on other headphones, but don't let that influence your decision. Bottom line is these headphones sound awesome and are a great value, I got them on sale for 74.99, but I would pay full price for these babies! Can't comment on the mic yet because I haven't had a chance to use it.

These headphones are a great deal if you are able to get them on sale. I have been using them since I bought them and I have to say that they are extremely comfortable... lots of room even if you have bigger ears, no pinching sensation. They are on the heavy side, but with all the padding you soon forget that they are on your head. Sound quality is not bad, bass is on the low side, imo; but they are balanced very well.Again, good purchase if you get them on sale... otherwise I would find another set in the $100 range

Corsair HS1 Circumaural Headset
Comment:
This headset is Extremely comfortable even soon after lengthy gaming sessions, the memory foam is awesome! I got a fairly massive head, and I was worried when I ordered these that they wouldn't fit. But they fit on my head and about my ears nicely. The sound top quality is remarkable from watching movies to listening to music, or playing your favorite game! I thought the sound in poor company 2 was nice with my old headset (Plantronics Gamecom 777 5.1 Surround Sound), but the 7.1 surround sound from these makes it sound even superior! I was able to pinpoint targets even far better then prior to. The mic high quality I'm told is crystal clear in vent, and clear aswell in game. The software program is simple and really straightforward to use. With tons of selections to "fine tune" your headset to the way you want it to sound. You can set it from stereo (default) to four six ƕ.1) or eight Ɨ.1) channels. And enable/disable Dolby Headphones and 7.1 virtual speakers. And you have distinct mixers, and special effects you can e When I very first took these out of the packaging I initial noticed how soft the pads were, 2nd issue I noticed was how weak and low cost the mic felt when rotating it. Right after 3 days of use, with me moving the mic up and down depending on what I was doing. The mic no longer clicks into any of the slots that when held the mic, now it just keeps falling down under the chin. Individuals can still hear me loud and clear, but this is Extremely annoying, specially the amount of income I paid. I had my old Plantronics headset for over 2 years, and in no way had a issue. I would very easily give this headset five eggs (would do 10 if I could) if it wasn't for the mic not clicking into place anymore following only 3 days of use. But if you ignore this issue the rest of the headset is still amazing. Ideal I've ever utilised, and would gladly suggest these to any individual that ask me for a extremely comfortable, high excellent crystal clear surround sound headset, that sounds awesome no matter what your doing, from playing games, to listening to music, or watching movies, and has a crystal clear mic (even with it under your chin). Corsair did a awesome job with their first headset, and I would absolutely purchase yet another headset if they ever produced one.

Sound is very clear, and the people I've spoken to say the microphone is very clear as well. I really like the Corsair software (which is an absolute must have package) for this headset and really brings out the attitude of this headset.
