They function. a bit tall. These stick up with their heat sink like construction higher than most. This could be a issue with aftermarket cpu coolers as dimm slots are generally next to the cpu and coolers can have huge heat sinks which touch the leading of the mem sticks if they stick up too significantly.

I was running it stable at 7-7-7-24 1800mhz for a while. It can go beyond this from what I've been reading however I see no use unless your going to drop  big bucks to get SSD and faster components. The 6 gig kit is more then enough for any gamer out there but at these prices I would go for the 12 gigs
