Went from an old sound blaster audigy se to this. Major improvement in sound quality. Windows 7 64 Pro detected this proper away. I applied the set up disc that came with the card, and went to the inventive site and downloaded the latest drivers. None truly. This card definately does the job regardless of whether your gaming, watching movies or listening to music. I believed that my old soundblaster was excellent, until I got this. Has lots of settings to play with in the control panel. I haven't had substantially of a need to adjust something as it appears to work great for me on the default settings. Get this card!!

Good function set, colour-coded analog connections Truncates (cuts off) random sounds in random places. This becomes particularly annoying in games with dialog, as spoken sentences are generally stopped from playing all the way via, so it is unclear what meaning the dialog was supposed to contain. Not only is the technical problem an challenge, but it entirely spoils any sense of immersion. Utilized with a Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P and Crucial Ballistix RAM, operating 32-bit Windows XP SP3. All the regular troubleshooting measures were tried (i.e. swapping PCIe slots, distinct drivers, various driver configurations, updating BIOS, etc.) with absolutely no results in eliminating the audio truncation. Continued attempting to find the problem for almost a year, changing every little thing except the actual X-Fi hardware. Lastly, I'd removed the X-Fi and replaced it with a scavenged Audigy2 ZS, and voila, no far more random sounds becoming reduce off.P.S.: All you sensible people out there: Creative wants competitors in the gaming audio market place. Do to them what AMD is performing to Intel, what ATi is carrying out to nVidia, and what nVidia did to 3dfx - make them develop far better goods or die as a organization.

Installed fine Sound high quality when digitizing an analog sound supply is not very good. There is a big hole in the upper midrange. I also have an Audigy two ZS. I compared albums that I digitized with each cards. The Audigy two ZS sounds ideal. The X-Fi doesn't sound good at all. Voices sound muddy. Percussion doesn't sound true. I'm returning the X-Fi. I'm not a gamer. So, I can't actually comment on the sound card's other capabilities.

Crystallizer is very good for songs that are horribly compressed, automatic switch profiles, owned for 2 years nevertheless working fine, eax effects good for games that assistance it. Utilized to have a dilemma exactly where it would blow it a explosion sound for no reason. Also applied to have a dilemma where the sound would cease operating or the drivers and application would choke. That challenge went away when I got a greater mobo. Primarily based on how I have had no issues because I got a much better mobo I will cautiously give it a 5.

Worked no difficulty with my new pc develop. Detected by Windows 7 pro and new drivers updated.Great sound. Priced a small as well large. Actually there is no competitors in the sound card industry, so you have to put up with Creative's drivers. Nevertheless wary of downloading driver updates from Inventive simply because of terrible knowledge in the past. Retain my fingers crossed when updating.

I am not disappointed by this sound card yet. The EAX feature genuinely tends to make a distinction in the games that have the selection for it. The amp is actually fantastic and can turn up the volume fairly high on your head phones. I purchased these with the HD 555 Sennheiser headphones which actually brings out what the headphones can do. I genuinely like the software package you get at their internet internet site like Inventive console launcher, Creative WaveStudio 7,Creative 3DMIDI Player, SoundFont Bank Manager, and Inventive ALchemy (ALL Cost-free!). Not quite a few games assistance EAX... I recommend you get the newest drivers from their internet site and just throw away the driver cd you get with it due to the fact it is possibly outdated.

Good mid to upper range sound card. Console makes it possible for for a number of sound sets for distinct games and music. I use mostly for gaming and makes a hugh difference more than onboard audio! I applied this card for setup with headphones, no speakers, but is a hugh improvement to onboard. No so far! If going to use with headphones, get headphones with amplifier and atleast five.1 surrond sound. Get headphones with atleast 8 speakers and you will be amazed in gaming!

When it functions and its not crackling / popping it sounds great. Also the EAX support is specifically nice for games that take benefit of it. But this is all moot mainly because the cons kill this card. It regularly has troubles, the most annoying of which is sound high quality. It will usually get started popping/crackling or make it sound like the speakers are blown. Sometimes this goes away soon after a couple of minutes, sometimes you have to reboot. This happens at least a couple instances per day.It was much more difficult to get functioning than expected. The drivers are spotty and the computer software somewhat confusing. For a retail product it came with virtually no documentation. I purchased this card for my new high-end laptop or computer system. My personal computer is awsome, except for this card which is junk. The motherboard had incredibly fantastic sound but I spent 贄 added so I could have awsome sound. This card fails. I'd rather have typical dependable sound than this card that created the sound terrible 20% of the time. I've owned numerous Creative cards in the previous but this will be the final item of theirs I ever acquire, its simply not worth the frustration.I really didn't want to, but I will be requesting an RMA to get a full refund.

In the past, I've had issues with Inventive sound cards, however this card worked like a charm. I was also type of worried that his card would not operate nicely with Windows 7 x64, due to all the reviews saying driver issues with Win. 7 64. Windows 7 detected this card no issue, sound functions good, crystal clear, possibly not the greatest card, but confident is good sufficient for me.I listen to a lot of music, and play games from time to time. This is excellent for trance music if you play around with the settings. A bit as well costly for retail. I purchased this for only ์ utilised, I advocate purchasers appear at buying employed as nicely, all you really need to have is the card, nothing at all else.

I get this horrible hissing and random beeps. Its a driver problem, which they have HORRIBLE help for. The final update was July 2010, its April 2011 now. Sounds remarkable with analog speakers but once more DO NOT get if you plan on employing optical. fiveǛ Eggs due to the fact I only use analog speakers. If I would of had digital would of been Ǜ Eggs

Sounded quite great by way of my speakers and headphones whilst it lasted. Straight forward plugins. Right after a handful of months there was crackling and popping when i ran my Pc for much more than a few hours. Restarting would fix this, but would persist to do the similar. Then appropriate before the 1 year mark it completely died out on me. I suppose you get what you spend for, but i didnt count on the deficiency, particularly when HP recommended this as the very best they offered when constructing my Pavilion Elite. Other reviewers said they had the identical problems, so im not the only one particular. I advise acquiring some thing else to be on the secure side.

Create very clear sounds with good bassBrought new life to my musicCreative console launcher is a blast to haveWindows 7 recognized appropriate away (sort of) Creative console launcher is a discomfort to set up, the web page has a W7 driver for download but it's garbage(you can set up it but it won't launch). I am disappointed that Inventive have fixed the problem but. Of course there's a way to make it work, but c'mon Creative. See other thoughts on how. Initially, W7 wouldn't recognized my card in the device manager, so I downloaded the newest from Creative. Installed, "new driver identified currently" what the hell Creative? Pop in the CD that came with the box, and it finally popped up in device manger. Excellent. Attempt launching Creative Console Launcher, "Can't launch since you don't have the hardware to assistance this" what the hell Creative? The box says "support Windows 7". Back to the web site, downloaded "Beta version", installed making use of XP compatible mode. Works. But what the hell Creative? The process took me 2 hours for some thing that should be 20 minutes.

So far this card lives up to reputation from Inventive Labs. I've noticed a dramatic raise in sound high quality, WIFI movies and gaming all about. the on board sound card was beginning to give me fits when playing Rift and WoW Nearly a solid hour of downloading updates. nice addition (installing an update profile in with disk) nevertheless to sheer amount of time needed to download and set up drivers was incredible. could want to believe about ZIP filing the updates or making them far more compact or sending along a complete up to date driver disk had to turn down the speakers a small mainly because playing Disturbed at three in the morning made the neighbors jump out of their skins (card is hooked up to a 800WATT subwoofer xD)

PCI-E, EAX, programed settings(entertainment and game mode) No channel assignment. Settings are difficult to navigate. OnBoard sound can disable playback in my mic simply, can't discover it with all of inventive's drivers. General it's not a Huge upgrade more than the OnboardHD that comes with the new 790GX/X/FX boards. CMSS-3D is a plus tho, tends to make a standard headset/headphones simulate surround sound noises, which is excellent for games.

The unique settings for the card are good. (Game, Entertainment ect.) Great sound top quality. The purpose for the three eggs was my card arrived bent.... Very bent, I couldn't fit it into my PCIe slot and have the I/O plate match up with the case. Just disappointed, when I opened the box the card wasn't in any sort of anti static bag. Just sitting in an open box. I hope that what happened to me doesn't occur to any individual els. Because its extremely annoying to get anything then want to spend even more dollars sending it back.

Sound Blaster nevertheless rocks to this day. I bear in mind buying my initial 8bit card back in 94' for a whopping 赉.00 to play a small Wolfenstein and Rise of the triad. I loved their cards then and I am nonetheless a loyal Inventive fan. This card is as very good as it gets if you want realistic gaming sounds and high excellent music output. None. I have this hooked to a pair of Inventive DTS 2500 speakers which they discontinued years ago, but the sound generated by a 100% Inventive based output is phenomenol. Nuff Mentioned!

Excellent clarity, specially when hooked up to my Logitech Z-5500 5.1 speakers. Positional audio when operating the speakers is superb. Digital output on the card. When running the optical out there is often a popping delay to the digital in on the Logitech Z-5500s. When operating with the .5mm front/rear/sub cables there is no sound. It's negligible, but it's there. I upgraded to this from HD onboard sound and could only detect a marginal difference. The actual advantage is the effects menus from Creative which I genuinely like (a lot of men and women detest these). Back in the day when you required to purchase a sound card (i.e., when onboard audio sucked) I applied an Audigy2 Platinum for years and years. Honestly these days I probably didn't need to upgrade to an expansion sound card, particularly with HD optical out on my mainboard and the fact that I practically always use a USB headset when gaming.
