Just recently bought this card, even with my not so great speakers my games and music sound better, richer. The only thing holding this card back from its full potential is my speakers.Very nice card.

Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium PCIe Sound Card - 70SB088000004
Cons: None.

Pros: 7.1Sound is really good. Night and day compared to on-board solutions!PCI-E x1. (Mine is in a x16 slot at x4.)Both optical in and out.
Comment:
I've owned an Audigy 2, an E-Gamer and now this and have never had a complaint against any of them. I've tried on-board sound and it sounds terrible compared to a real sound card. I needed a PCI-E sound card so I could run crossfire and sill have sound....good sound. This fit the bill and I am very happy over all.

Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium PCIe Sound Card - 70SB088000004
Cons: Takes a while to installs drivers and apps.

Pros: Excellent sound quality.
Comment:
I bought this card to replace my old Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 platinum that proved incompatible with Windows 7. Sound quality is excellent. Installation of drivers takes a long time, and the drivers included on the install CD are out of date, so an update  is required.

Oh well...
Comment:
I had to solder 2 pins in the sound card to try to connect it to my 285GTX video card to output digital sound via H D M I. Wasn't able to make it work, but I output it through optical to my L O G I T E C H 5500 speakers when I need the extra kick when watching blue-ray. I got what i paid for, the card works, but could have been better. I'm not shelling extra for the high end sound card, to think i have on board sound to begin with.

nice sound card
Comment:
i purchased this card because i recently got a new speaker set, and wanted to get a cleaner output than what on board sound provides. i am glad i made that decision, because this card is outstanding! it works my thx speakers out! this card is good for most people looking for some better sound for their movies or music. this card is probably not the ideal choice for hardcore gamers or people looking to create music. the card has x-ram, but not as much as the Fatal1ty series does have. those who run windows 7 and want to use dolby live spdif output need to look elsewhere too, at least for now. that is why it got a 4 for features. final verdict: good buy for most people.

Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium PCIe Sound Card - 70SB088000004
Cons:No digital coaxial out - you must purchase the $300 Elite Pro version if you want this funtionality, and with some 5.1 systems this is your ONLY option for input.

Pros:Full-featured - 7.1 surround, EAX5, DDL & DTS supportPCI-E x1 - the only available slot in my mATX motherboard
Comment:
I bought this card to upgrade from 5.1 to 7.1 surround. I also like the fact that it is PCI-E and relatively compact so it fits in my mATX case where the PCI slot is blocked by my video card. The fact that it supports DDL and DTS through the optical out is great as I am annoyed by the mess of wires created by the analog connections. Having the one digital cable running from the computer to the receiver also eliminates the frequent distortion and loss of sound channels that I've been experiencing and I no longer have to worry about fiddling with the wires to try to fix the sound every time the wires get slightly moved. Eh
Comment:
i paid extra for the X-Fi technology and was disappointed to discover that the sound quality was no better than the generic sound card i purchased 5 years ago for less than half the cost. overall i think this is a good card, but don't let the bells and whistles fool you. it's just a sound card. no magic here.

Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium PCIe Sound Card - 70SB088000004
Comment:
Its great sound for gaming. Everything else it fails in. My mother board sound card is louder in terms of volume for just listening to music (even tweaking equalizer and fooling around with the ''modes''). But as a gaming sound card you get the full audio experience, sound enhancements, and bass explosions.

Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium PCIe Sound Card - 70SB088000004
Comment:
This does record from stereo mix - it is vista on some machines - a lot actually that stops the recording. It is criminal what Microsoft has done and it is on the mother boards on E Machines and Gateway as well as some others. It is NOT the SOUND CARD/ onboard sound as I had to get a work around to get mine to do it. This I know from personal experience so check your newer pc running Vista before buying this card.

Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium PCIe Sound Card - 70SB088000004
Comment:
I dont know about the last reviewer, but this card is a huge step up from onboard hd realtek. the EAX 5.0 is really nice for my 7.1 setup and since using realtek to create 8 channels of 192 khz really takes alot of cpu power. its not 192 khz on this card but 96 khz is almost the same i cant tell the difference. GREAT CARD.
