Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium PCIe Sound Card - 70SB088000004

Great sound card!!! This is to replace my older Creative X-Fi Xtreme Music PCI card that is now going into my second Pc and I like it. I don't know what these men and women are speaking about, it operates great with Windows 7, just make confident you download the newest driver from the Creative internet web page.. just like any other peripheral.. Constantly get the most recent drivers. The Crystalizer feature tends to make every thing sound Remarkable, I could never go back to normal sound once again! It's like a color Television compared to a black and white one. Not to mention the loads of other attributes and the prestine sound quality. This will be my 5th Inventive Sound Card and I've in no way had any complications with any of them. (Original Live! to a Live! five.1 then an Audigy to an Audigy two to an X-Fi Xtreme Music finally to this card.) Never ever heard any popping or distortion with any of them, folks don't know how to set up the cards effectively. Cost. Not for folks who can't adjust a light bulb with out calling 3 buddies very first and lastly paying for an electrician to do it for them. You have to know your way around a computer system and then tune the card to your liking right after installation. You can't just drop the card in and count on it to just know what you like. By the way I nevertheless have my Creative Sound Blaster Live! card that I purchased in 1998 and even that runs fine in Windows 7 x64 on a personal computer in the den. You can install this card in a 1x, 4x, 8x or 16x PCI-E slot.. this can be valuable to position the card away from the video card or other sources of heat. (It clearly won't fill all the piano contacts in the bigger slots but that's fine, it will perform just fine.)

Fantastic sound when match to very good speakers.I have owned about 7 sound cards from inventive and in no way had a poor one particular. I am making use of with Logitec 5.1 speaker set and sound is considerably improved more than motherboard sound in both games and music. Price, when matched with excellent speakers which are a have to for this card you are searching at 贶 to 赨 dollars. Driver difficulties if earlier sound driver are installed.Significant update for newest drivers.See comments beneath for corrective action. 1. Initial don’t buy if you are not prepared to match with a good set of speakers. This card output is too much for less costly speakers and will give you noise. Program on a > โ set.two. Extremely Significant. You should remove all previously installed sound drivers. Undertaking uninstall is not adequate. I applied DriverSweeper_2.1.-[Guru3D.com] which is totally free and operates on XP/VISTA/Win7 32 and 64bit. 3. Download and set up the most recent version driver. At the time this was written XFTI_PCDRV_LB_2_17_0008. This contains the drivers, autoupdate, and the manage console. four. You can also download other software such as ALMY_PCVTAPP_LB_1_41_02 for EAX support and there is a CMSS 3D and Wave recording software if you want them. You can use the autoupdate to get the newest versions. Note: Following removing all previous sound drivers you can use the CD that came with it, when it restarts it prompts for AutoUpdate. I did not want all the other software so I just installed expected software program.

What pro is there when they don't have a operating driver for Windows 7 64 bit? This card has significant troubles operating with Windows 7. I have waster about ten hours of my time and I am now giving up. I named Tech Assistance and they are some of the most useless assistance persons I have ever talked with. They have absolutely no desire to assist you. The drivers on the Creative Internet site do not operate on the Windows 7 ultimate installation I have and his remedy for me was to wait till Creative releases a driver that performs properly on my version of windows. I will never ever buy another item produced by this miserable business that supplies such miserable assistance for their customers. If you are running Windows 7, stay away from this sound card. They truly have a Product identification module patch simply because there is a problem finding this card to run on Windows 7. Even so in my situation, the patch does not run since it claims that I am not running Windows 7 and the assistance people have no clue on how to fix this. Keep away from SOundblaster goods. Windows 7 has been out for 6 months and they still can;t release a working driver.

Drivers perform nicely, computer software has some useful functions, toslink input A+++, sounds substantially better than my onboard realtek and my front panel in fact operates properly with this card! Computer software bloated with unnecessary "modes," audio crackling heavily following three weeks. RMA, hope the next one I get doesn't break in below a month.

Sounds wonderful, but will they supply new drivers for future Windows OS??? I spent fifty more for essentially the very same card about 4 years ago. Now the drivers they say will make it perform with Win 7 are no excellent. Crackles and breaks continually. Tried in 1 7 setup, then back in an XP rig, then a different W7...Only functions w/ XP. Don't waste your income on a fancy card.

READ THIS IF YOU HAD AN OLD X-FI CARD:I got frustrated and gave up on my X-Fi XtremeGamer card becoming compatible with Windows 7. As a last resort I decided to go get this card from a nearby massive name retail retailer (you all know the one you get all your other electronic goodies from). I had a hunch that going from pci to pci-e may possibly make a difference. No thought if that was it, but this card has worked FLAWLESSLY on a fresh install of Windows 7 using Inventive's drivers. Spent 贄 on a card that I shouldn't have had to acquire in the initially spot. Go to you-know-where, purchase this card, they'll let you return it within 14 days if it doesn't perform on your OS. Finish of story.

Sound excellent... I suppose. I couldn't appreciate it with the drivers causing my personal computer to blue screen each hour. And ahead of you say something, I am particular that the drivers for this had been the problem. When I suspected it was the drivers causing the complications, I decided NOT to set up them. Windows has plug and play drivers, so I was just employing them for now. I had formatted my computer many times, and each time it blue screened, the prevalent element between them all was that the sound drivers were installed. So this time I was running with no sound drivers, and the computer system was operating flawlessly for a week. Zero problems whatsoever. Then my buddy stated to attempt and set up custom drivers. Installed them yesterday, blue screened nowadays. And I havent installed something else that could possibly conflict. Is this how inventive runs their firm? Good hardware with method crashing drivers?Don't try to convince me, I'm already packing this up to be sent back. And no, I will not be replacing it with yet another creative product....ever. I would rather use onboard audio than have to deal with this bull**** once more.I wish I could give this item a Ǜ

Got 1ms play-by way of/output latency when using it with SONAR eight. and an M-Audio MIDI keyboard. Great! None. I'm setting up a new studio computer for my wife, who is a musician/composer. She does all of her work with SONAR and related composition/production tools. I was having a lot of trouble achieving low latency playback with the onboard Realtek hardware. Picked up the X-Fi Titanium for ๳.99. 15 minutes immediately after installing it in the workstation, I was able to get 1ms latency. Phenomenal!I'm writing this in the hopes that any person else in my shoes asking the question "what is a top quality sound card that can do genuinely low latency for a affordable value?" will be in a position to have their question answered. This a single will do the job fairly effectively.FYI the workstation has an Intel Core 2 Quad and 1 core was at 10% usage with 1ms latencies, and less than 5% usage for 7ms. 7ms was low adequate that there was no noticeable delay in playback.

Good characteristics and skills on the card.Every thing operates for audio processing DTS/Dolby Digital.ASIO ƒ-4ms stable for me), OpenAL, and EAX5 support for if/when you want it. Drivers are the downfall. Working with capabilities like CMSS or the Crystalizer, or EAX could trigger memory leaks and sound complications even with the most recent drivers available (as of Feb 2010). If you want a stable system while utilizing this card, you will want to disable some of Inventive's added sound processing attributes. Then regular playback of multi-channel audio through SPDIF or analog speakers is rock strong.

For the persons crying about "popping" and "crackling" sounds, how bout getting a very good chipset next time like Intel P45? Crisp, clear sound. Noticeably superior than the Audigy 2 ZS that it replaced. Operates perfectly fine with Win7 Pro x64... CMSS correctly feeds to all 7.1 channels throughout audio / video playback. This is exactly where the item lost an egg...My old audio driver from the Audigy two this card replaced conflicted with the new install, in ways that old drivers under no circumstances have for me before. It turned into an afternoon of digging around, and in the end, dumb as this sounds... an installation started by itself 20 minutes after the 5th failed install (I assume it was Win7 forcing the install), while I was reading on the Inventive forums for answers. Judging by the purpose behind my fiasco, and 14 years of Windows operation / management, I think this would have installed smoothly and worked fine the initially time, had it not been for the matter of not becoming able to absolutely wipe the old driver out. I don't mean to scare anybody from buying, as it operates beautifully now, but it was a pain to get it there.

I can hear footsteps and such a lot simpler with cmss3d, assists out your game much simpler. Can tell exactly where the tank is on the other side of the wall in battlefield poor organization 2. Creative is a should have for gaming due to the fact of that alone, I didnt hear any static cracks and pops other individuals complained about, and it installed effortlessly and works fine. The drivers had been really tough to install, I had to download a specific driver just before the auto update could even detect it. Which for me was extremely frustrating (probably mainly because I had windows 7 64 bit correct when it came out) thats why it lost an egg even though.

Boosts the volume of your music. Tends to make every thing sound good. Functions as advertised, in that repsect. Main driver problems which creative refuses to resolve. Call them up, send them e-mails, they will send you a list of fixes a mile extended which call for you to do outrageous things. Creative support is WORTHLESS. They will even admit they have issues with the drivers, but refuse to fix them. Heres what happens: Your sound will begin to go distorted and staticy after 24 hours of your laptop or computer being on. Nothing can adjust this. Even worse, it will start off happening whenever you turn on a video game or some thing GPU intensive. I've began noticing it happening when my graphic driver fails while playing battlefield poor organization. The only way to fix it is to restart. Then you have an additional 24 hours or less. Sounds not as well bad? It grows on you soon after a whilst.Rig: EVGA 750i motherboard, 9800 GTX EVGA card, Quad Core Q6600.One particular of these points its not compatible with. If you have one, stay away! If I could send this card back correct now, and save 100 dollars I undoubtedly would.

Great audio good quality on movies and music, quite crisp and clear. Great amount of ports in the back for any attainable speaker configuration as properly as the opticals. This card DOES NOT transcode 5.1 input ONLY 2 channel. This needs to be screamed loudly to any person contemplating buying it and wanting such a feature. My setup involves input via Toslink from a PS3 but the card will only listen for two channel input, the 5.1 is dropped. Not only that -- the 2 channel output is echoed, this could be a outcome of Inventive Manage Panel needing tweeked. Once more: this card DOES NOT transcode 5.1 input ONLY two. Unsure why this was dropped by Creative, it's my fault for not researching so if you are thinking of it please comprehend this. Please do your personal study on the topic, I'd really like for an individual to say I'm wrong and it does operate but I have given up right after a month of ownership.

* Fantastic sound high quality. Can hear footsteps in FPS games, and with tweaks can find sounds incredibly easily. Need to have for competitive FPS gaming.* Really flexible and customizable, as soon as you have it set up effectively (See Cons).* Very good cost! (Got it for โ after rebate!)* EAX for those who use it * Driver support from Creative is awful. The install disc takes roughly an hour to install the programs and drivers, and then you are left with a "hissing" sound. Updating to the most recent official drivers does not fix something.* You have to search and discover the customer made driver and plan installations which have been fixed. Operating on the most recent DanielK Driver with the PAX disc install replacement, I was lastly able to resolve every problem with the card except one.* Does NOT play nice with the Coolermaster HAF 932 front i/o panel. The sound and mic jacks will occasionally crash and reset causing a painful hissing sound. I had to buy a high top quality 3.5mm jack splitter so I could have speakers and headset plugged in to my program. * Creative really wants to get on the ball with driver support. If they have clients who can do a much better job than they can with no any support from the organization, one thing is definitely wrong.* If you have the patience to troubleshoot any troubles you have with your program, this card is worth it when it is working. Only you can determine how significantly you want to go via. For me, it was worth it.-1 egg because of the horrible driver assistance from Creative.
