I upgraded to win 7 last october and threw out my old ram (crucial..good brand...but soon after about three years I was getting concerns with my personal computer that were RAM related).Bought this 4GB kit from G.Skill and my machine is flying with windows 7 x64, a decent dual core and a two year old video card. I'm so pleased I'm going to get yet another kit and double my memory - I'm a multitasker who likes to have several programs up at when...photoshop, dreamweaver, couple browser windows, audio player, multimedia, etc. Doesn't change the oil in my automobile. Price has dropped down nearly 30 bucks due to the fact I bought my initially kit in October 2010. Buy these now at this cost, it's a steal! 1 last thing - this is my initial encounter with G.Skill and I'm impressed therefore far.

Cost-effective, fast (Memory speed WEI went from five.9 to 7.1), compatible, worked proper out of the box with out having to clear CMOS, well developed packaging that didn't even have a scuffed corner (telling me that the item was handled with care), sturdy, and fantastic looks. The thing that impressed me most although was how nicely it just FIT into the DIMM slots. I have installed hundreds upon hundreds of sticks of memory from a variety of producers and most of them you have to wiggle a bit, or push a bit harder than you would like to get the retaining clips to click into place by themselves (or you just end up manually clicking them into location). Not this stuff... I dropped them into the slot, applied a small pressure on both sides, and they clicked correct into the slot and held tight. I am genuinely impressed with how precise the tolerances were. All 4 sticks fit just perfectly. My case doesn't have a window, and these are buried behind a drive cage, so you can't see the cool blue heat spreaders with the silver stylized logo. I was tempted to get some of the black dragon stuff, but right after reading how numerous people ended up with DOA sticks, I decided on the G.Skill RAM rather. I am glad I went this route.I bought the memory to upgrade my trusty HP Pavilion Elite m9040n with an Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 proc. The processor is nonetheless handling everything I throw at it without having trouble, but 3 gigs of memory was not cutting it with numerous Visual Studio projects open, multiple diverse browsers used to test sites, debugging tools, Sql server, Sql management studio, and FTP all open at when. I installed my 8GB of G.Skill last night, and WOW what a difference! Every little thing is much snappier, and oddly enough, programs CLOSE 90%-95% quicker. Sql Management studio utilized to take 20-30 seconds to close with a lot of disk thrashing (same with Visual Studio), and now they just blink out of existence when I click the close button. That is a major deal to me due to the fact I am continuously closing and reopening these apps as I write co

G.skill Impresses everytime! I'm using them in an old AMD X2 6000+, ASUS M2A-VM HDMI mobo, nVidia MSI 8800GT and windows 7. Works perfectly. went from 5.1 to 7.1 on windows experience index for the ram. I'm running everything on stock so I'm not certain how effectively this RAM holds up when tweaked. none I required to update the BIOS in order for the audio to work on the M2A-VM HDMI with the 4GB of ram. It's no biggie just a thought if an individual has the very same mobo and may possibly run into the same issue.

Comment:
-Decent price, considering its the far more costly DDR2-Terrific speed at stock, haven't OCed this create, in all probability won't cause stock is running stable and plenty fast-Nice heatsink style, not too significant, which is good if you have a massive aftermarket cpu cooler, but they do get the job carried out. -Price, DDR3 is less expensive, but if you are like me and required replacement RAM for a secondary computer system which nonetheless uses DDR2, this IS your ideal bet. Pleased with purchase and still impressed with the RAM, just wish I didnt but have to acquire DDR2 seeing as my other program has far more RAM and at a higher speed than this and it is almost the identical price, but what are you going to do.

Um cant tell sicne they are faulty. Bought these for an M2N-SLI motherboard computer I'm going to turn into a Linux Server. Ram inside is 4GB already but same spec (ddr2 pc6400- exact same timing, diff business), install the ram, black screen, reseat the ram thinking i didn't push it down all the way. Freezes at Post. Take them out and attempt with old ram. Works perfectly. Took old ram out and tried new ram with 1 stick at a time. Each are faulty (cant even run a memtest : / ). Returning for a refund and purchasing a various brand. Manufacturer Response:.Dear CustomerWe are sorry to hear the memory did not work properly. That is quite odd as the kit need to be plug and play. Please make certain you have the most recent BIOS for the motherboard. This kit will function in most DDR2 motherboards due to the fact it is standard DDR2-800 CL5. If you have any further questions or problems, please feel cost-free to get in touch with us directly. Bought this to add RAM to a VM server.Boosted the RAM up to the desired amount, and cooperated with the existing non-matching RAM already in the machine.Works as expected, no issues seen to date.I don't plan on buying any more DDR2 though, the price gap between DDR2 and DDR3 is increasing.

I bought these to replace the 2x1 GB sticks of RAM in my poor-man's gaming desktop. I've left them at stock timings and clocks, and they've served me very well. Very stable, and 4 GB of RAM is a must for any modern multitasker. =]I'd recommend this RAM kit as an exceedingly good buy for almost any user.

I bought these to replace OCZ's which didn't work well with my board for some reason - Kept getting overclocking failed message even though they weren't overclocked, anyways the G-Skill have me fairly impressed and would purchase again. Thanks NCIX for honoring the price match guarantee, keep up the great work.
