It doesn't bother to define extended vs. short but either way the manual is Wrong. Failure to boot resulted from the two (proven) DDR2 2GB 6400 Dual channel memory modules plugged into the two memory slots.. They are 800mhz memory modules that perform fine in my other personal computer. It will boot fine if I use only 1, but then it only detects half of the memory on the module Ƒ gb instead of 2). Perhaps this specific motherboard is defective rather than just pooly designed. I have ordered a new 1 to replace it and will return this a single to Newegg promptly!YMMV

Bought this guy to replace a fried mobo even though i save up the actual cash to do a complete upgrade. It came in excellent order with every thing promised. quick for it's age, somewhat basic bios. i am running an e6300 1.86ghz core 2 duo oced to two.95. I know i can run it higher up to possibly 3.15 but anthing over three even causes the mobo not to detect the network adaper. I have not noticed numerous other people with this challenge, maybe i just got a wonky one. only four gigs of ram but if you are acquiring this you most likely don't need to have it anyway. due to it becoming a micro atx board the heat sink i had (i think it was a scythe ninja) and the ram didn't get along so I had to place the fan in a weird location. once more that was the heatsink and i can't complain about a issue that is inherent when obtaining a micro board. what I run: e6300 oc2.95, 4g ram ƒx2) @ 866, msi nx8800gt.

My Tv tuner card would not fit on this board. The card hit the DIMM connectors. I ended up returning this board and buying one particular with a better layout.
