GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: none i can think of

Pros: has Parallel and serial ports
Comment:
I bought this to replace an old defective MB for a client. It was needed because it came with video, parallel, serial and ethernet all integrated which made replacement super easy. I was able to install the HD with the old win 2000 OS no problem, just needed to reinstall the updated drivers. It has been running 24/7 for the last couple months without any problems.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: None

Pros: Solid price
Comment:
Purchased this board as part of a potential media server / portable gaming rig build. As those plans are currently on hold, I have decided to hold on to the motherboard. Tested this with some spare parts and stability was never an issue. As I won't be overclocking, I can't really comment on the OC capabilities of the board. If you're looking to build a system while on a budget you can't go wrong with this board.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: None for the price

Pros: Exceptional value and quality
Comment:
Excellent quality and reliability for the price. Construction is solid, and the board uses high quality components and capacitors. Also Hackintosh compatible with very little tweaking (note: different revisions may affect Hackintosh compatibility). Great boards for office computers.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: Outdated technology.

Pros: Cheap. Proven.
Comment:
For motherboard replacements, there's something to be said for a proven design. Despite G41 boards going for around the same price now, they all seem to have issues. This board has been on the market for awhile now, and it's proven itself. For $55, what more can you ask for?

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: PCI slot too close frome PCI-E 16x slot (had problems with some graphic cards).

Pros: Stable, solid capacitors, overclocking features and potential.
Comment:
Price-wise, it is one of the best LGA775 simple solutions. Similar boards from Biostar, MSI, Intel and Asus all lack something compare to this one. Achieved to overclock a Core 2 Duo e4200 to 3.3ghz without too much voltage, as with my higher end board (EP45-UD3R). Really affordable and all in one solution.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons: no esata, firewire ports

Pros: Low costRS232 Serial portQuality componentsPCIe 16x
Comment:
I needed a mobo that had a built-in RS232 9-pin serial port to support some legacy hardware and this fit the bill perfectly. Was easy to set up with its nice layout. Running an intel E8400 with 2x2GB RAM (stock speeds). I did not test the onboard video at all and installed a HD 5750 video card right away. Driver installation on XP pro went smooth and everything works great.

This is great for a budget build. I powered them up and basically everything worked. For some reason my old Windows did not work, so I was forced to format (I wasn't planning on formatting) but I needed a clean up anyway and I had everything partitioned up so meh, format.Great for budget build, and you can overclock quite a bit too.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:only 2 mem slots

Pros:low price, quality brand
Comment:
I bought this for a budget home server build and paired it with an Intel E5300 cpu. The board I received was the latest rev 2.0 version and had the most current bios already installed. I wouldn't choose this for a gaming machine, but as a server, office type software, or a web browsing machine this is a good choice.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:- only 2 DIMM slots- OC voltages did not stick

Pros:- cheap- OC potential- features for price
Comment:
Overall, a good motherboard for a cheap computer. It has just enough features to make it useful with old parts, but enough so that you can use entirely new parts if desired. The only real set back with this motherboard was that when the CPU voltage was increased, it did not stick, so I was only able to OC using stock voltage. In the end, I won't hold it against this MB since the OC was a bonus.

Pros:Awesome budget boardMany BIOS features
Comment:
I bought this motherboard expecting great value because it's Gigabyte, and I must say I'm not at all disappointed. The features in the BIOS are vast for quick and easy overclocking, and for what it's used for, it works great! Highly recommended for a budget build, or even a mid-range gaming build for that matter.

though it is a mATX mobo, it works great for a budget build. no complaint, just wish it had more than 2 ram slots. if you are in the market for a cheap board for a budget build, this will do the trick.

Cons:-No 1394 firewire header-Only 4 SATA and 2 DIMM slots

Pros:-Integrated Video, Audio, Ethernet-Very cost-effective-Very fast for a compact and cheap board
Comment:
Great motherboard to use in a budget machine. Has integrated audio, video and networking so no expansion cards are necessary. Has high FSB and RAM speeds for such an inexpensive board. A PCI-E16 interface allows for easy upgrade to a more powerful GPU, quickly turning this into a formidable machine.

Cons:One SATA port is blocked by my Geforce 8800 GT cause of my Arctic Cooling Accelero S1the chipset runs very hotcpu temp is wrong in the bios

Pros:Good value for moneyGood stable motherboardsolid capacitorsgood overclocking unless you use onboard video
Comment:
I installed this motherboard in my case with no trouble whatsoever booted first try. I installed the latest BIOS updates and surprisinglyThis motherboard is a great overclocker paired with an Intel Pentium E5200 I was able to get a stable clock of 300x12.5 3750 MHz at 1.38v and 300x12 3600 MHz at 1.34v with a OCZ Vendetta cooler and cheap ddr2 800mhz ram.I'm sure it could go higher with good cooling and more voltage to the CPU and better ramaccording to Intel the E5200 voltage should not exceed 1.365v unless you want to kill your CPUso I plan to leave it at 3.6 GHz at 1.34v using core temp it idles at 39c full load 17hours of prime 95 and some 3DMark 06 max temp 62cthe CPU monitoring software that came with the motherboard never reported temperatures over 29 Celsiusand the temperature in the BIOS was also incorrectalso the chipset gets extremely hot to the point of not being able to touch it once it's at this point the system becomes unstablea cooling fan works wonders for stabilityHonestly for such a cheap motherboard I was pleasantly surprised to get such a high overclockand the system really zips along fast at 3.6 GHz plus this is my first attempt at overclocking a Intel processor The motherboard has two revisions mine was revision 2even came with 2 SATA locking cablesnot just one standard cable like other cheaper motherboardsI would have to say this is a grate bang for your buck and makes a good fast all around system for vary little cashand even overclocks vary well for a mATX boardthe only problems I have noticed are the hot chipset and cpu temp is wrong other then that even at a overclock of 3.6ghzits been stable for the last 6 days of use.I would purchace again if needed.

Cons:None

Pros:Solid basic board.
Comment:
Bought this to replace a dead MB in a friend's computer. For the price it has everything you could want. Onboard video isn't going to win any awards for its power, but it does the job fairly well. For the price, you can't go wrong for a no nonsense solid board.

This is a great overall budget board. If it has all the features you need, don't hesitate to purchase it. All three of mine have worked flawlessly, and I don't anticipate any issues at all. Would gladly purchase again, or recommend for a budget or basic system.

I've become quite the gigabyte fan over the last few years after having a few not so great experience with ASUS boards. I find gigabyte boards are well priced, offer very competitive features and are very well built. This board is no exception. Install and configuration were flawless and it POSTed on first boot.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Only two memory slots

Pros:4 SATA portsCheapPrice/Quality ratio is more than excellentSolid board.PCIe 16x
Comment:
Extremly easy to set up, cheap and quality product, I don't have the feeling that it's gonna break in my hands (which is a good thing, always reassuring, if you see what I mean). PCIe 16x and the 4 SATA ports make this a great motherboard for a mid-range or second computer. The only thing that I would complain of is the two RAM slots but with 2x2GB, I don't see why you would need more, if you do, buy something more expensive.Recommended.

Cons:Only 2 fan headers (1 CPU , 1 external fan) on the motherboard.

Pros:Extremely cheap when on sale. Overclocks well considering the price vs performance you get out of it. OC'ed my E5200 f 3600 Mhz
Comment:
With this board I overclocked my E5200 j 3600 MHz using only the stock cooler w/ MX-2 applied without upping the vCore. Kick ass price vs performance.
