Functions excellent, by no means fails. The only con is that it has gma3100 graphics chipset, so it shows restricted super dool display, even so, you can't actually discover no issue with it. The con is that it only can go so far, so be sure it fits your picture. I like the gigabyte g31 board alot. Making use of it with a 22-inch samsung monitor, and 3850 sapphire card, performing win7 hp 32bit, 4gb g.ability 800 ddr2, and operating television. This is the cutest and finest, of the g31 boards. Solid, reliable, excellent bang for the buck. Incredibly great and fun board, by gigabyte. Suggested, and newegg has nice current revision of the board.

OK so I've had this board for a day and a half now. Upgraded from a G41M-ES2H board, which for some cause It wouldn't OC my E8400, and also the 'PCIex16 only ran at x4, while it stated x16... Now following i plugged almost everything back in to this board, runs fantastic and stable at 4.32GHz Ƒ.44V), but somthing isn't proper... Following changing the voltage from the standard 1.3V, my LAN will not work. But if i bring the voltage back down to 1.three, it works once again... Also one more con, is the immense heat that pours out of the northbridge. I believe GB should have put a little bit far better of a heatsink onto Intel's G31 and G41s. - Snappy, stable, and function-rich BIOS- Overclocks relatively nicely, specifically thinking about its price- Handles RAID and dual-booting with no complications - Doesn't overclock almost as properly as upper-end boards- Documentation is weak in some places Regardless of whether you're developing an HTPC, office workhorse, or a budget gaming machine, you will be shocked by what this little guy can do.

Nice mini ATX board! Good mini price tag on a reliable brand. High-end SATA cables with locking tabs. The onboard audio sounds Considerably far better than the audio on the Asus P5K that it replaced. Only two memory slots. I'm carried out with Asus parts. This board replaced a dead P5K, which first had a NIC failure, then USB problems. I've observed various dead Asus boards over the years and nary a dead Gigabyte board. The fansink on the Asus video card that was bought at the very same time as the P5K had a fan failure, as well. Asus is overrated, IMHO.

Appears like a nicely built board, booted up very first time with no troubles Went to add my Hauppauge HVR-1250 (PCIE 1X) and realized I had made a dumb mistake buying this board for my HTPC. The board is too lengthy and interferes with the memory slots. Can't dock the board for my stupidity - 5eggs.

Super straightforward to overclock on this board! Within five minutes I had my cheapy E5200ʂ.5ghz operating smoothly ʃ.3 Ghz. Been running glitch free of charge for more than a year now. I have 2 identical builds and theyre each over a year old now. Each run ideal. A classic, straightforward board that will nonetheless be relevant years from now. none Only 2 memory slots. But, 4Gb is plenty for Win7 and Vista. This is a classic Gigabyte board. They ought to make these till the core 2's are no longer available. A lot of speed and power to run all present games at max levels. No will need for pricey ddr3 memory.

This is by far the most dependable and inexpensive socket 775 motherboard out there. Teamed up with E5500 processor I have built 40 plus small business systems with yes difficulties. So far no cons i can even believe of. Pretty much all the negative critiques that I have observed on these is mainly due to the user using junk memory. Stick with the leading sellers Geil etc.. and you will have rock solid method.

Purchase these for inexpensive technique builds. Great motherboards and extremely easy to setup. Overclocking characteristics are there if you need them but honestly havent applied them since the builds are for other people None The only setback on this board is 2 ram slots. If you get four gigs of ram when you buy the board this ought to in no way be an concern.

For the price this motherboard has some good capabilities such as the M.I.T. OC menu and a DualBIOS: I could not brick my mobo no matter how quite a few times I input too high settings in the OC, the second BIOS chip basically set the 1st chip to defaults, excellent if a bios flash goes wrong. Hit CTRL+F1 at the BIOS screen for additional timing/voltage possibilities, it will flash when, added possibilities inside M.I.T. menu. For the price listed on NewEgg this is not bad at all. Suggest for budget PC. This mobo is rev. 1.x which has less processor support.Only two DDR2 slots, max only to 4GB which was fine for me. I did not obtain this mobo, I truly co-own a tech shop and located this inside a Lenovo Q31 desktop! I added 3 GB of DDR2 with two 500GB SATA HDs, 750watt PSU, a GeForce 8600GT and an Intel Core two Duo E8200 2.6GHz OC'd @ three.8GHz, runs really cool with custom HSF combo. Inside custom case, have no notion who the heck makes it.

When a consumer wants an typical PC I use this board. I've built over 30 with this board and haven't had to warranty any of them. I also employed this board for my wife's and dad's PC. I'm also preparing to get one of these for my daughters new create. These are rock solid boards and straightforward to set up. You have a wide wide variety of LGA775 CPU's to opt for from. Decent onboard video or you can use the PCI Express x16 to add a high top quality vid card. Also the audio is extremely very good for most people today. Only two memory slots, would be nice to have 4 but for the cost that's a minor con. If my firm had the overhead I'd stock up on these.

Board arrived on time and worked 'out of the box'. Purchased to upgrade a relatives' aging personal computer. Unit shipped with most recent BIOS upgrade and board revision two.4 not even listed on Gigabyte web website. Mild over clocking with spare core two duo was easy and stable. Accessible SATA drive connections allow for inexpensive difficult drive upgrades if needed. Still have unresolved lack of sound issue with internal sound while testing with Linux. Double check the quantity of PCI slots needed when utilizing as a replacement on an older computer as this board is limited to two which I new before acquire.

I have been using this board for over a year so I figured time to do a follow up review. Initial of all, worked great with my E5200 CPU, easily overclocked it to 3500 (from 2500) and is now running my q9550 at 3500 with just two voltage bumps. No bios upgrade was needed for either of these CPUs to function. Onboard sound is adequate and so is the onboard LAN. BIOS settings are perfectly adequate for typical overclocking and with the shift/F1 command you can access some more advanced functions. Onboard video is perfectly fine for every thing except gaming, but there is of course the PCI-16 slot for adding a video card (like the gtx 260 I stuck in mine). Everything worked for me and its kept on ticking for over a year. The capability to start off with a budget develop CPU and upgrade to a quad core later was a major selling point for me. There are some issues to point out about this, no so a lot cons... much more along the lines of limitations since of the nature of what it is. This is a budget micro-atx board, so be aware...The PCI-E slot is not 2. but is quick sufficient for nearly any video card out there. The northbridge gets too hot and there is no temp diode on the mobo so you dont know how hot with out a thermometer. I replaced the northbridge passive cooler and suddenly could do higher overclocks. There are various alternatives, each passive or with a fan. Any would be far better than stock.SATA plugs can be blocked by the video card, 90 degree cables and advanced planning assists. No SLI or Xfire naturally.Restricted to 4 gigs of ram in two slots (which honestly is a lot for the vast majority of people).I had to mount a Thermaltake V1 with airflow pointed up rather of back mainly because its fairly tight around the CPU socket (and the V1 is a enormous heatsink)This is a spending budget overclocker, not an enthusiast board. In my opinion this is pretty significantly the ultimate spending budget board for the normal gamer. Purchasing a less expensive CPU like the E5200 and overclocking it along with a decent video card, four gigs of ram and case/psu of your choice you can have a really cheap system that will manage just about any game out there. When the time comes to step up you can upgrade the CPU to a quad core and get a new video card to have a method each bit as rapidly as an 1156 i7 quadcore system (once mildly overclocked). Its also a wonderful mobo for a web browser or HTML construct. If your developing a total new program you will possibly be greater off with a 1156 or 1366 socket program, but if you have any parts you need to have to use 齇 CPU, DDR2 memory) this mobo would be a wonderful selection.

Lots of on board connectors, still has IDE if you require it, four sata ports. Probable challenge with on board lan or difficult drive controllers - not sure which My prior HTPC create handled four streams of HDTV from two HD homeruns just fine. When I did a new construct with the identical difficult drives, same network, identical antenna, same tuners, it seems to be dropping frames from unique video feeds when there is high usage. Thought it may have been the weather, as I record OTA HD programming, but the antenna strength is great. I don't feel the issue has anything to do with the broadcast towers. Getting in an intel PCI-E lan card tomorrow, will locate out if the on-board lan genuinely is the difficulty. Cheapest thing to attempt very first...BTW, network is Gigabit, with an HP procurve switch giving the full bandwidth to the computers. An HD Homerun only has 100mb/s, so two of them shouldn't seriously saturate a gigabit connection...

Cons: None

Pros: Nice clean layout, easy install.

My aim was to build an inexpensive home computer that would run as a Mac/media server. I may try a dual boot with Windows 7 later but since my MBP already dual boots It might not happen. This board is a staple for building hackintoshes as it has proven itself. What I've found so far is that it runs quickly with a dual core (2.93) Intel processor. The install was easy, the board is laid out nicely and is good quality. I realize this review won't help most people but anyone building a hack should be happy within board. All in all really good value.

Used in a build for my dad as a basic office/home computer. Good motherboard for any budget build. No problems with it except there is only 1 3pin fan connection, bit of disapointment but its ok. No build with this should get to hot anyways.
