GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:- Can't OC- only 4GB RAM support, but who needs more?

Pros:-Cheap-Has everything you need as long as you don't OC-Small!
Comment:
I bought that other ASUS board in a similar price range. Always was a long loyal ASUS fan, until that board fried within a week. I honestly never gave Gigabyte a go, so this was my first board from them, and I'm happy. From now on I'll probably stick with Gigabyte. This board is perfect if you don't OC. For typical builds, even in a high-end gaming rig for a customer, I would still go with this since customers don't usually want you to OC for them.

Cons:none

Pros:PriceQuality

I always buy form Asus, but me friend needed a really inexpensive computer, so i decided to go this this board. I was quite surprised: this board is really not cheap ! It performs really well and the onboard video card is good to run Windows 7 Aero without any problem.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:No DVI, only 2 memory slots

Pros:Hackintosh-friendly, overclockable, solid caps
Comment:
Perfect Hackintosh board -- widely supported by the hackintosh community. Excellent overclockability and tweakability. Solid capacitors for the VRM. We have installed many of these boards and the MSI G31M3-L, and while both work perfectly, I think the Gigabyte has a slight edge over the MSI (but at a slightly higher cost).

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Warm northbridge?

Pros:Solid and reliable board
Comment:
I'd buy another one in a minute. Just put together a couple of these as new builds, and was quite pleased considering the price. Good bios options, no issues at all with the 6400 Patriot power hungry memory, and seems to want to overclock that little E5200. Northbridge seems to run very hot though. Wondering about others who are O/C'g this, and what their thoughts are..

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:g31 chipset sucks, crappy 100mbit Realtek NIC

Pros:cheap, decent overclocking options
Comment:
Bought this for an HTPC build and it's doing a fine job.Running an E4500 w 2.75Ghz on stock volts with few tweaks and it's rock solid. This CPU didn't overclock that easily on the P35 board I used to have it in! Surprised from such a cheapie.Have to gripe about the G31 though, it's just a crap chipset. Slow SATA, junky onboard video etc. Esp. if you're going to use the onboard I'd upgrade. But on a budget or where you're not using the onboard stuff it's great.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Very nice mobo for less than 60$ currently running my e5200 g 3.4ghz with stock volt (1.2v) but i've hit a FSB wall.Edit: I've been able to get higher, 3,75ghz at 1.3v now. If you hit a fsb wall simply add 1mhz to PCIe then another when you hit the next wall etc.PS: Don't go over 110mhz to PCIe This review was modfied by poster @ 06-10-09 03:08 PM

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:only 4 back usb ports

Pros:Overclock settings are good
Comment:
This mobo was for my girlfriends computer. I was supprised at the overclock settings in bios, I thought with a machine like this, the settings would not be as good as my GA-P35-DS3L, but they are very similar.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Some people will say it runs pretty hot. but if you have proper cooling you will be fine.

Pros:Easy to set up. PCIe 16x. Enough expansion. 4!! sata ports. that's what you find on some atx board.
Comment:
What a nice little board. It was my first Matx and i don't regret it. If you look around this is probably one of the best out there. No on board firewire port.

Cons:None

Pros:CheapWorks

I've bought 2 of these so far, and as a budget motherboard you really couldn't ask for more. Okay, it doesn't have a DVI or an HDMI connector but on a budget you'll only really need VGA.This is what I call a no thrills working board. It works and there's not much else to say about it. The thing is tiny, and makes any case look big.The 2 dimm slots kind of sucks but again budget oriented you are likely to plug in 1 stick of something cheap. One thing I really liked about it was the layout. It has a PCI-e 1x slot on top and then the 16x below it so if you had a dual slot video card then it wouldn't cover the nice pci-e lane. I for one wish my mobo had this.

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Your mileage may very but, for me to overclock this board more than 20% with a SATA300 HDD I had to go into the Bios under integrated Peripherals and then into On-Chip Sata Mode and change the mode to either Enhanced or Non Combined, other wise you may encounter a mysterios FSB Wall.

Pros:Great board for a PVR build, overclocks my E5200 to 3.75ghz at 1.28vcore, very small footprint, has a clear PCI-E slot for my tuner.
Comment:
Great board; wish it had more ram timing options like its ATX brothers, but nothing DDR 800 ram can't fix. Currently running 3.6ghz (300X12) at 1.22vcore, stable (35c idle) with E4500 cooler. My E5200 has stock cpu vcore of 1.15v and runs stock (2.5ghz) at 1.1v vcore actual. Bios FS8 corrects the temp readout of the E5200, now between 23 and 45 degrees C. update, changed compound to mx-2 and now can achieve 3.6ghz x 1.2 vcore, 29c idle. GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Legacy jacks are nice, but they do take up space that could be for more USB or a DVI. Meh onboard video.

Pros:Cheap, TINY, this thing is an extra inch thinner than a standard mATX, great for tight cases. 4 SATA. Legacy jacks. Decent and usable basic OC options.
Comment:
I was amazed at how small this board was. Excellent job by Giga to trim off the fat and wasted space. I wish every mATX board was this small, it makes it so easy to work with. Not a lot to complain about at this price, but more USB jacks instead of Serial/Parallel plugs would have been nice. But in some cases this is preffered for cheap legacy-compatible builds.Mine did come with a 4-pin PWM CPU fan connector This review was modfied by poster @ 04-09-09 02:45 PM

GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Only 2 dimmsNo DVI and HDMI

Pros:CheapStable
Comment:
I'm buying this for a friend's new PC. It's as good as the G31M-S2 I was buying before. But this one has a 3pin fan connector instead of a 4pin which is easier to deal with. Also has dual bios. It's cheap, stable and problems free, it's the best G31 chipset board. I only wish it comes with DVI and HDMI.
