Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Cons:- Barely fits in my Antec NSK2400 HTPC- card sits directly above the SATA ports on my mobo- Mail-in rebates are annoying

Pros:- Runs all my favourite titles on High or Ultra, even at 1080p- Runs surprisingly quiet- Good value for a gamer on a budget- Factory overclock for the price of a card at stock speed- Fits (barely) in my Antec NSK2400 HTPC
Comment:
I bought this to upgrade my HTPC so that it can actually play games. It's replacing a Hybrid Crossfired HD 3200 IGP + HD 3450. The difference is night and day.I can run my favourite titles (L4D2, HL2, Fallout3 + NV, Diablo 3, Oblivion, Skyrim, Magicka, etc) with settings cranked up nice and high at 1080p, where before I was lagging along with everything turned down and at 720p or less resolution. Some of these games look completely different (and amazing!) with this card. With the advances made in power management since I first built this machine, this card uses the same amount of juice while idle that the old Hybrid Crossfire setup used ALL the time.My only regret is going to be when the 7770 hits and drives the price of this card into the basement and/or blows away its performance for the same money. Can't avoid buyers' remorse though. *Right now* it's a good value and that's what counts.

-Effortless set up (duh)-Cool operating, even below load. -Indigo rendering of a complex Google Sketchup scene created 95 degrees F. Stable.-Looks cool-Fans are very really. They blend appropriate into my eight other fans running. Certainly NOT distracting.-WEI 7.7 on both graphics sections-Gigabyte durability/quality-Packaged really well-Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1 ultimate recognized it proper away.-Drivers installed with out a hitch, extremely smooth.-This distinct model does not have matters with any blue screens of death or crashing and resetting drivers at idle (to my information). I have study, and it would seem, that ATI finally fixed that dreaded 5xxx series bug exactly where the memory and GPU clocks had been so low that they timed out, crashed, and reset. I had an XFX ATI 5770 and it would continually crash (even in Linux, which needed a tough restart each and every time). And no, it is not a driver problem, it was a HARDWARE issue. 11.three catalyst 2 runs the 6850 and 4670 j -Haven't evaluated it in games yet, so I can't say for its overall performance in that regard, but at 134 gb/sec of memory bandwith, I have no doubt that this thing will scream with something I throw at it.-it doesn't cook, clean, and press my laundry... Installation: Very first off, I entirely uninstalled all instances of anything ATI associated on the laptop or computer. That contains catalyst two, registry entries for ATI, and so on. So as to have a fresh surroundings for installation. I then utilised a grounded static mat and wrist strap, which were grounded to the exact same point. I did all my installation work on that. Thus, I have had no issues. I am curious about all the dead cards folks have had. Gigabyte's excellent isn't THAT negative, but who knows. I feel if suitable procedure is followed, it will mitigate the troubles some have had with dead cards. Don\'t forget, static electricity will kill your components even if you in no way felt it. Ground yourself and use non painted screws! My 5770 had additional crashing issues immediately after moving to a case that was painted inside(lack of grounding?)My setup:AMD Phenom II x4 945 deneb ʃ.0ghzCoolermaster 600W 80plus psu4gb 1333mhz ram DDR3Kingston 64gb SSDWD 250gb 7200rpm HDDGigabyte 770T-UD3P v1. Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Cons:The shield for one of the DVI ports came off during shipping for one of the cards. Took a little tinkering to get it back on. It's a flimsy piece, but I'm surprised it came off in the first place. Not a big deal though.

Pros:Good size, keeps cool, can OC to roughly 6870 performance
Comment:
Great video card. Got two of them in CF. Can most games maxed out at a decent FPS. I run BF3 multiplayer with mostly everything on Ultra, just a few things on High. It's cause I'm paranoid, and don't want to see a framerate drop  in the middle of the game. Single player though, everything is maxed out and the game looks great. Fantastic purchase.

Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Cons:-Starting to show its age-Outperformed by many new cards

Pros:-Good value
Comment:
Bought this for a friend. This card presents a very good value for entry level gaming PCs. Although at the $100-150 price range you cannot ask for much from a graphics card, the 6850 delivers a solid performance. This card, paired with an older Q8300 Quad core processor, runs Battlefield 3 at 1920*1080 resolution on low with >80fps, medium >~60, and ultra ~20-30 (all of course without anti-aliasing).It is important to note that the Radeon HD7xxx series video cards are being announced, and we can probably expect to see price drops in the HD6xxx series!

I have an older version of this card (Gigabyte Radeon HD 6850 775MHZ 1GB 4.0GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI Mini DisplayPort HDMI PCI-E Video Card -- I don't know what this Windforce business is about) as I bought mine roughly a year ago. I haven't experienced any issues so far and it's doing a mighty fine job powering two monitors. I'm currently playing Starcraft II, Skyrim and Battlefield 3 at high settings with ease.

Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Cons:Very large.

Pros:Economical with great performance return. Great cooling. Very quiet.
Comment:
This card has a great price to performance value. Runs current generation games on "high" or "high/ultra" with minimal FPS drop. Stock cooling runs very quietly and consists of two fans and piped heat-sink. No need to invest in after-market cooling, even with slightly overclocked values.A word of warning, the board is quite large. Some creative HDD shifting may be required with smaller cases.

Plays games that my 4850 choked on. BFBC two & Black Ops finally play excellent. Maxing out all settings on my older titles just for entertaining. Overclocked beyond the factory oc' to 865񳂖. I intend to really push it it's limits at some point with voltage, and so on.. Must be no difficulty, the cooling is awesome. Zero modify in temps from stock to what it's running at now. Most likely overpriced right now. It is a wonderful card but I normally don't buy when some thing is brand new and in high demand. Can't wait until a few months go by and cost drops. I'll choose up a different to crossfire. Card fits easily in my Antec 900 as nicely.

Very good graphics The cooler\cover is flimsy and the card came with no crossfire bridge! Sorry but I forgot to mention in my previous assessment that you have to be careful with handling this card considering that the cover could break on you. Also I did not get my crossfire bridge as is seen in the image! What occurred? I also got a Gbyte mobo and that did not have one either if it was supposed to come with it. Have to call Gbyte and ask for one.

Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Cons:The 6-pin supplemental power faces towards the front of the case rather than out the side. Could be an issue with a smaller case or just a congested build. My nemesis elite case had ample room so it was not a big issue for me.

Pros:Double fan, Good price on sale for a 1gig GPU

Working fine in my P5Q PRO motherboard, I've had no issues with fan noise and I've been happy with the graphics in all aspects so far. The real test will be Skyrim!

Handles all existing games at high settings @ 1920x1080P assuming you have the appropriate hardware to go with this video card.Has a dual fan with a heat sink that has a step like style which Gigabyte says is 29.five% cooler than other designs. Fans are pretty quiet.* <check cons>Idles ~ 41 C room temp. ㅎ CFull load, card hasn't passed 66 COnly needs 1 six pin power connector, will get away with a brand named 500 watt power supply.Sharp looking shroud that covers the card.Factory OC from CC 775MHz, MC 1000 MHz to CC 820MHz, MC 1050MHz.Can go even greater but why bother??Plus five Eggs Didn't come with a crossfire bridge or a case badge which I was really searching forward to!!Not a life time warranty like XFX, but you do get 3 Years! Not receiving paid to evaluation this. Minus half egg*Will notice fan noise when gpu is fully loaded. But that should be expected. Appears like newegg packagers had been playing baseball with the video card I received... The corner box had a large indentation that went all the way via to the accessory packaging. Lucky it wasn't the corner exactly where the video card was situated. Hopefully I won't run in to complications in the future. Shipping box was mint so it wasn't them.Minus two EggsYou won't discover a better card at this cost range. It runs cooler and is a lot more energy effective than the Nv guys.Total Eggs = two 1ǘ should be a four 1ǘ eggs but that crushed corner could not be ignored so I had to take two eggs off.
