excelent card!!!! for the price you could get higher. plays any game at really decent fps on a 1080p resolution. the color output in movies is beautiful, and the catalyst control for this card has ton of possibilities compared to my old HD4870 (brightness, contrast, color, saturation can be control within the catalyst software, no need to have to adjust the Tv). image upscaling is fenomenal, even dvds appear like bluray good quality if its properly configured. also, ONLY 1 1 PCI EXPRESS Power CONNECTOR!!!! be friendly to the environment!!! this card takes less income from your electric bill!!! wish there was some thing extra, like a game coupond or something..... oh wel.... wish that amd male a autocad compatible driver so the autodesk software enables hardware acceleration. i know that hardware acceleration is most intended to workstation graphics card (firegl and quadro), but it would be good to have higher rendering speeds.

Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Cons:Does not come with a crossfire bridge! Beware if you get two of these. I was lucky enough to have one kicking around, but if I didn't I'd be mighty peeved.

Pros:These cards look greatVery coolVery powerful
Comment:
I got these set up in a crossfire set up, a bit worried about the fan noise, 4 fans going at once. But it really isnt that bad! For the price on these they are outstanding value for what you get. This review was modfied by poster @ 09-20-11 07:00 AM

Wonderful card for the price even though I haven't had a chance to push it to its limits but. It does handle every little thing I require at the moment (CAD programs). I did acquire the card for gaming just haven't had the opportunity to yet. I purchased this card since a buddy has it and we play the exact same games and his is fantastic. none yet

Runs nice and cool, really quickly. Plays Crysis Warhead at 1920x1080 at Max settings at 25-35fps, Poor Corporation two at Max settings at 55-60fps Overclocking ability on this card is very restricted simply because it does not use the reference voltage controller, you can\'t turn up the voltage. I suggest the un-pre-overclocked 6850 simply because it overclocks much better in the end

Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Comment:
This is a excellent card that runs almost every thing at max settings at 1080p. Stays cool and quiet. Ran FurMark stress test on max settings for over an hour and maxed out at 68C. Is NOT compatible with RIFT. No matter what set of drivers I attempt and use from AMD, whilst playing RIFT I get random blackout restarts that have caused my raid hdd setup to have to re verify all the time. I pulled the card and put in my old 8600 gts and have had complications due to the fact. would enjoy to keep this card and even grab one more, but seeing as I can't remain logged into the game I play the most, I posted it for sale on craigslist and will only obtain Nvidia from now on.

Installed with out a issue, runs extremely quiet I can't even distinguish the fan noise from the rest of the case. I got this as part of my budget gaming build. I largely play WoW appropriate now and this will run it on ultra at 40-60 FPS in most places, though it does drop down to 40 and below in high populated zones from time to time. The only other game I have tried so far is HL2 which was pulling upwards of 300 FPS at times with every little thing maxed out. Granted that series is practically 6 years old now so it may not be the very best judge. I am hoping that this will play Diablo three nicely when it comes out. Nothing so far. I'm utilizing the latest 10.12 Catalyst drivers from ATI's site, and haven't noticed any problems with them but.

Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Cons:Apparently needs one montitor in display port, one in DVI and one in HDMI for triple monitor support on Crossfire.

Pros:Low power, good performance.
Comment:
I bought two of these for crossfire. SO far the performance is great at the price point. Sound comes through the HDMI to my monitor just fine. My only problem so far is I tried setting up 3 LCD's on this thing setup in Crossfire. According to the innerwebs I would need to have one on HDMI, one on display port and one on DVI. Other than that (and waiting for a display port cable i nthe mail).I'm very happy with these.

Pros:Super fastDirectX11

Great card! The 6850 is amazing :)Can handle any game I have at full 1080p - graphics maxed!I did buy the non-OC'd version ... no difference in price other than the OC.With the new driver, AMD allows for a 850Mhz OC with the 775Mhz ... then getting a copy of Trixx - you can OC to what ever you want (950Mhz I'm at).Definitely an amazing card ... but might want to consider saving a few $$ on the non-OC's and getting yourself the needed DisplayPort adapter ;)

Gigabyte GV-R685OC-1GD HD 6850 1 GB PCI Express 2.1 x16 Graphics Card
Cons:Ubuntu does not like this card

Pros:Fast, cool, low power consumption, quiet.
Comment:
Bought this card a week ago and it rocks! Running BF2 BC at 1680x1050 with all the setting maxed and it does not break 60 degrees C and 60-75 FPS. I don't have a case so the running cool thing is great! Setup was a snap to setup in Win 7, the newest drivers from ATI are a must for a few older games. Looking forward to many an hour with the zippy new card!!
