It did not die on me but. It wakes itself up, autonomously, due to the complications with the LAN adapter so named gigabit (giga-blunder). Contacted Intel, they agreed on a replacement as extended as you paid for the shipment or paid 25$ non-refundable fee.

Good set-up IF you want to only use SATA configuration. I purchased this board for a buyer who has IDE connections for burner and HDD. Shame on Intel for creating an ๠ motherboard devoid of one particular IDE connector! Con'on, I bought an ASUS MB for my individual use at the very same time and THEY offered the needed connector. Tends to make me wonder!

A solid, stable Intel board as I have known to trust and rely on more than the years. I replaced an Intel DG35EC with this board since I needed hardware RAID1 redundancy. I use it in a machine dedicated to DJing. None, however I don't use this board for all of its larger-end functions which folks typically have the most problems with. I also purposely waited to get this board till I felt secure understanding the BIOS had a opportunity to mature.

Intel, supports modern day LGA 775 processors and has four memory slots. No legacy assistance including no assistance for PATA/IDE Drives, EIDE/ATAPI DVD/CD burners etc., no PS2 assistance for keyboard, mouse and so forth. I'm not docking eggs from this product for for all the issues it doesn't have but because of the hassle you have to go by means of to get it up and operating. This motherboard is a lot more appropriate for property theater kind use than everyday desktop computing. I purchased this board to upgrade the mobo on my 4 year old HP desktop. This board has the processor and memory assistance I was searching for and thought it would be a fantastic upgrade to my existing technique. I went to the Intel internet site and read all the specs and item information accessible on the web site. I assumed that it would have support for the standard I/O necessary to hook up all the rest of peripherals currently on hand (PS2 keyboard, EIDE DVD burner, Floppy and so forth. Lesson learned: If the lit doesn't say it has it , It Doesn't!. Be certain to study the basic points you require to get up and operating like keyboard/mouse support and make positive it supports every little thing you currently have to total the technique.

Tiny, inexpensive. Can not have DVI as Major display, when HDMI connected (see 'Other thoughts', before you dispute this). Intel scrood the pooch on the video implementation on this board, unless you use it for HDMI only, or HDMI as major display. I purchased this to use in my principal/media Computer. My intent was to use my 24 inch Computer monitor as my key display, and use the HDMI connection every single now and then as either Audio & Video to my HT Method, or Audio only to my HT technique. No matter how you setup the display options (I set mine for DVI as Main, HDMI as secondary) with both connected it reverts to the HDMI as major on reboot.if you don't have the receiver AND Tv that the HDMI is plugged into turned on all the time, you will have nightmares attempting to preserve the display settings. Audio only does not perform at all, as it appears intel decided if you are not watching video, you have to not want audio.I purchased this board to reduce the size of my Media Computer. My Prior (but bigger, complete ATX) media Pc worked perfectly (setup exactly the very same way), but utilized an HD Omega Claro sound card, and MSI N9400GT video card, Which I now have to install on this board to make it perform properly. This defeats the whole reason I bought this board.

-Works!-RAID, PCI-Express two., gigabit ethernet -Graphical glitches across top of screen when booting. These are not present once an OS starts to load.-Discrepancy between listed specs. NewEgg and the product box both state that the board supports 8GB of RAM, although Intel's web site claims it supports 16GB. I don't have 16GB of RAM to test this. The first factor I did when finding this board was a BIOS/UEFI update to the most recent revision.Process:-Core two Quad Q6700 (stock Intel HSF)-8GB A-Information RAM-PCI Express 2. EVGA GeForce 460-750W PSUI purchased this motherboard as a replacement for an Intel G33 board that recently failed on me. Every little thing else in the method remained the identical, so I don't believe the issues mentioned above are brought on by the other components.

The computer software disk that came with the motherboard. Fast Intel Help. Exactly where do I begin? I bought it locally mainly because I expected complications but being especially technical, I figured a few hours much more for an HTPC - large deal.I tried to hook up my Acer AL1916W to the G45's digital port. Got no signal but board posted. Hmmm weird, right after fiddling with a few items I tried my Acer HD monitor just delivered from Newegg the previous day. Got into the bios and saw it was from August 2008. Arrrgh. Now Intel has five approaches to upgrade the bios. I wrote the bios file to a bootable CD per Intel's written directions but the screen went crazy every time I tried to upgrade the bios. Referred to as Intel. They stated - and listen closely --- put the ,bio file on a USB, disconnect all hard drives and then boot from the USB. Bingo, I worked, I upgraded the bios to present.Soon after loading new drivers from Intel, applying service packs and so on etc, the video was nevertheless not stable - would go to static randomly. Packed the board up and returning it. I have done more than 100 builds in 15 years and this was by far the worst. No QA at all. Just look at the threads and complaints. I plan on writing the CEO of Intel and now am thinking I could switch to AMD for CPU and board for my HTPC.

This board worked great for my WHS server build. I wanted a board that would help a wide arrray of processors, was compact, function wealthy, and didn't break the bank. I coupled this with a Celeron 430 ࿃w) for an power effective 24ǝ server. I am pleased with the outcomes and usability of the server. I didn't feel the CPU fan was specifically loud, despite the fact that it isn't precisely silent. Not a big deal because this sits in the utility space in my basement with switching and other distribution equipment. You need to slipstream the RAID drivers in order to set up Windows House Server employing RAID. Not a large deal but this must be noted. Onboard video with HDMI, Hardware Assistance for Blu-ray playback, broad range of processor assistance. Massive heatsink can get in the way of some CPU fans, onboard graphics undoubtedly NOT for gaming, onboard audio does not help Dolby TrueHD or DTS Master HD (basically when you play back Blu-ray titles you get DVD audio high quality) I'm using this board for a HTPC (home theater Computer) running Windows 7, and for that task, it's worked out fairly effectively. Some notes and suggestions:- This board + Pentium E65000 processor + 4GB RAM + LiteON DVD-/+ RW or BD-ROM makes a good budget construct with Win 7.- Often use the most current BIOS/Drivers from Intel's site.- The built-in graphics are appropriate for films, net browsing, and productivity applications, but NOT gaming.- Blu-ray playback is supported @ 1080p, but with DVD excellent audio (i.e. no help for Dolby TrueHD and DTS MasterHD.) In all fairness, this is not to be expected at ths price point.1 last point. If you have overscan with your HDTV, you can adjust for it with the Intel Graphics Settings > Aspect Ratio Selections: just be more aggressive with the slider controls than the actual amount of overscan you're seeing on your monitor - it DOES function.

Mobo operates with no any difficulties. Have it running 8gigs with vista enterprise 64 bit on q8200 intel processor. Bios is extremely slow. I didn't really time it but it was a lot more than 30 seconds ahead of it would begin the OS phase. I updated the bios and now it only takes about 7-13 seconds to commence the OS phase. The board is supposed to come with the "integrator toolkit assistant" that assists you come across updates to the board. I saw no such thing. When I went online to uncover this utility the only one they had was an advanced utility for OEMs to generate several images. I have no notion how to use this tool and it is not the 1 they refer to on the box.

Fantastic specs. Anything you will need for an HD-capable HTPC in a single good tidy package. I'm a large Intel MB fan. I generally come across the good quality to be top-notch, and the reliability outstanding. The drivers for this board are nevertheless a perform in progress. I set this up running Vista connected via HDMI to a Toshiba LCD Television, fully expecting it to be HDCP compliant (the product specs say it is). Challenge is that it is not recognized by software program as becoming HDCP complaint, so you cant' play blu-ray on it (I'm certain this is a driver concern). HDMI audio also does nbot function as it ought to, and you are restricted to 2-channel sound if working with it. The other matter I have with this board is that occasionally, it locks up coming out of or going into standby. I have to challenging-reset it when this happens. Usually, given the concerns/quirks setting this board up, I would not recommend it for the novice builder. It has enough troubles that it would in all probability easily overwhelm people that are not extremely laptop or computer-savvy. I had issues with drivers, BIOS, booting it, setting up the HDMI, you name it. But now that it's lastly set up, it mostly operates properly, albeit nevertheless no 5.1 HDMI audio, and nevertheless no HDCP.

it operates, built in RAID, 8GB (read somewhere it supports 16GB) HDMI connector, LOTS of USB connectors Ɩ in back, and 3 riser connectors for 6 up front) also has DVI connector. Its an Intel Board :D NO VGA port, you have to use a DVI to VGA adapter, which is NOT supplied. (lost egg there) almost best, be mindful of the I/O shield tabs (the "pressure tabs" in particular the one that is hidden that presses on the HDMI connector (i missed it and didnt uncover it till anything was installed, so i just cut it and pushed the tabs behind :D)

four dimm slots, fantastic placement of components for my case. Bios problem causes fan to cycle down, applied the repair and now the technique freezes every single couple of hours. Onboard graphics dies and resets itself anyplace from every single couple of seconds to just about every hour or so. Really annoying if you are in the middle of something. I assume this board has possible, but has some large issues that will need to be sorted out initially. I can't advocate it in fantastic faith.

All the onboard connections you could need. Windows 7 functions incredibly well working with Intel's drivers. Very pleased with this motherboard. N/A Annoying single "beep" through POST procedure. Have not but located a way to turn off the onboard speaker inside the BIOS or from Intel's documentation. This is just an annoyance, and has not interfered with any functionality.
