Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor
Comment:
Stupid fast. Acceptable o/c-capability ྯ%) Quite cool temps under load. Windows 7 rates it at 5.some thing out of 6.7 in the encounter index. I hate the push-snaps on these heatsink/fans. Really tricky to get all 4 to stick in the mobo. Have built three units with identical parts and they all had the exact same problem. would be good to see the cost come down soon, its been the similar for like a year now I feel? I may be inclined to purchase a few more that way ;)

Exellent CPU
Comment:
This was definitely a good buy for any gamers out there. Only thing that would be suggested is to change out the stock fan. If you can find the CPU alone with no fine I would recommend you buy that and use the money you saved to buy a dark knight cpu cooling fan if you have a large enough case.

WIN!!!
Comment:
This processor is unbelievable!!! (coming from someone who has never had a PC with more than one core XP) It flies. Simple as that. I paired it up with an ATI Radeon 4650 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. Awesome combo for my first PC build!!!

I'm not a game player but I replaced a dual core with the Q8400 and I will say I can watch a movie and work at the same time now with out picture freezing up or being choppy.

Runs great, a little pricey, fan SUCKS!
Comment:
Intel CPUs better run smooth, no? I mean, Microsoft designs Windows around them and vice versa. So that is a given. But AMD runs great, too, and cheaper. And that 4-pin push-on fan always gives me heartburn. OK, it's not an Intel fan but they make the market, why can't they insist on something less clumsy?

a fine cpu, runs well, runs cool with 64-bit OS
Comment:
The Q8400 about max's out the capabilities of my old motherboard and memory. I've run benchmarks to stress the cpu while I observed the temperature and was well pleased. Core 0 hit 65 degrees centigrade but cooled quickly after the few peaks. And that was over-clocked to 3.2G. 40-38-39-37 are the current temps for the four cores still over-clocked. The stock fan is all I use and all I need. This is my fourth order and I have been happy with quality, price and delivery.

Great Processor
Comment:
This thing is a beast. I am running this in a XFX mobo with only 2Gb of RAM and it screams. The stock fan is even a decent fan if you are not overclocking. I average 47C on all cores while working under normal conditions, and around 53C while gaming. I will be getting a OEM fan and then the overclocking will begin.

Good Product

I purchased this CPU with a Gigabyte MOBO as a kit. The CPU is awesome and can handle whatever I throw at it - under load testing, I could not get the CPU to crash. Very happy I went with this CPU for my needs.

Not dissapointed with this Quad Core
Comment:
I mated the CPU with a Gigabyte G41M-ES2L Intel G41 Socket 775 Motherboard and have a very sound unit. I design graphics and have not been at a loss for CPU power. No delay or freeze up.

Can't complain
Comment:
Bought this for my newest build and I have no issues with it. Runs really well. Using Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit with no issues. Only problem I had was I didn't seat the fan down correctly and the computer would turn off after 10seconds due to overheating. Reinstalled the fan with some Artic Silver 5 compound and it runs flawlessly.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:-Performance somewhat handicapped in some apps with the small cache

Pros:-Good price when on sale-A reasonable multiplier (8x) for overclocking
Comment:
I upgraded from the launch edition E6400 c2d CPU. I wanted to go I7 or I5, but the cost of new DDR3 ram and motherboard was simply too much. My P5k-E is still compatible with these new quad core cpu's so I decided to pick one up. This one comes with an 8x multiplier, same as my old E6400. I have a moderately decent watercooling system (an old one back before all these tower heatsinks, so the only way to get good quiet cooling was water), so it keeps the CPU relatively cool. I put the voltage at 1.3, and set FSB to 450. Computer is prime95 stable. I don't want to screw around with it anymore. This is more than fast enough for me.I really have no complaints, I know winrar performance is affected by the small cache. But at the price for a quad core at 3.6ghz, I cannot complaint. Highly recommended for those who can't afford the new 1366/1156 builds.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Runs a bit warm, even with an AC Accelero lappedCould use a bit more cacheDidnt even bother with the stock HSF, looks way too small

Pros:Great piece of hardware to extend the life of the older lga775 boardsMakes the whole computing experience feel seamless, no waiting45nmx8 multi = overclock potentialThe price point, $180ish on sale (for a quad!)
Comment:
I bought this cpu to stretch the lifespan of my current pc. I went from an E6550 h 3GHz to this cpu. Even though this cpu is not overclocked yet just the fact that the two extra cores are there makes a difference. It can encode a 700mb avi and burn it to dvd in under 20 minutes. For comparison the e6550 did it in 43minutes average. To be honest I wansn't expecting this much of a change. But I can get over how smooth the transition is between alt+tab-ing between a fullscreen game and the desktop or to a web browser. Pair this with win7 x64 and I'm laughing, cant go wrong. Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:seems like it's priced a bit high compared to AMD cpu's but if all you have is a Intel motherboard this is a good upgrade

Pros:Good Cpu for a now older computer
Comment:
nice cpu .. it does what I expected and is really fast compared to the old cpu (pentium 4 3ghz)I bought it because it has the ability to run virtual xp on windows 7 when I upgrade from xp later this month

Works with a strange annoyence
Comment:
so i installed this, and it ran about as fast as my Pentium Dual Core E2200 that i had before( have intel DG31PR mobo) so i opened system profiler (windows XP), and found that it said it was a PIII Xeon but the clock speed was correct, so i ran CPU-Z and it showed up as a Q8400. with further investigation i realized my 667Mhz ram was probably bottlenecking the CPU, so i have 4GB or Corsair DDR2 PC6400 on the way, hope it works!

Fast enough for the money
Comment:
I'm running XP pro and couldn't be happier. No hicups and I'm not banging my head against the wall because I spent over 200 bucks. This chip includes hardware virtualization which you'll need if you want to emulate XP on Windows 7 in the future.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66GHz LGA 775 95W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:if you plan on OCing get a aftermarket cooler with it.

Pros:FAST. runs great. have it OC to 3ghz on air. can go higher but i need a new HSF first. great chip!
Comment:
The stock cooler is absolutely rubbish. The CPU would overheat constantly with it. An aftermarket cooler is a MUST. Even if you aren't doing any overclocking
