On board video, hyperthreading, 4 mb cache, fast, dual core. None The prior writer took off an egg because it lack best finish attributes that the quad cores/I5s and I7s may involve, then get a much more high-priced upgrade, I don't recognize taking off eggs for that purpose. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?? You're getting a lot for the dollars. or get an AMD bx 555 dual core and unlock the other 2cores with an ACC motherboard feature, it has 6 Mb of cache for 90 bucks!

Great for E mail, Chat, Net Browsing, youtube. None Not the best selection for gaming if that's your intentions. It's fantastic on power consumption and just carrying out everyday tasks like I talked about in "Pros". Upgraded from an old Athlon FX-60 and I can definately notice a distinction.

Replaced a e6300 with this. I was a tiny down with myself for going the spending budget route and not obtaining the large and undesirable i7. It's particularly safe to say I'm glad I didn't. With the e6300 oc'd to 2.3ghz, CPU load max'd out just about when any application opened. BC2 could not render more than 24fps. Swapped out the board, threw in a single of these, 70fps no problem with AA 8x 1920x1200 everything set to high (with a hd5870). I honestly can't say how impressed I am with this. Caught it on sale for 贉 + free shipping, go newegg! Also at stock speeds it runs incredibly cool. Idle @ ㅑC and 80% load @ ㅣC with the Coolermaster Hyper 212 plus. I didn't get this a extended time ago. Just plain content with this product. I bought a lower finish msi board and 1600mhz gskill ram and so far it's running like a champ. I am incredibly pleased. For any individual out there debating on obtaining a "lower end" cpu such as this or an i5 or i7 with primarily cost in mind, get this and you won't be disappointed! You could even get the i3-530 and almost certainly be nicely off also.

Fantastic CPU for the cost. Overclocks really properly. I got it running at 4Ghz on Air cooling (Bus speed 182Mhz, 22x multi, 1.328v), and am confident it will go faster, but because of temp troubles with my case, i dont want to threat it. almost certainly not a challenge with the CPU, but i have not been in a position to get temps beneath 40c idle, overclocked or at stock speed my temps will not go beneath 40c. I'm operating a TT Spin Q Cooler with a lot of thermal grease. I'm fairly confident its not the CPU thats the problem, but an airflow/cooling dilemma in the situation. Not to mention its pretty warm in my pc space due to no A/C in July. A fantastic CPU for gaming, especually if you know how to overclock it. My framerates have increased considerably over my old Q6600. If you're thinking about getting an i5, dont waste dollars. get this 1, overclock it and you will have the very same, possibly better efficiency, for less income. My Specs:Intel core i3-540 @ 4.0Ghz-TT Spin Q CPU coolerAsus P7P55 LX Motherboard (does not support SLI, EVGA P55 SLI on the way)Nvidia Geforce GTX 260 x2 SLI (when new mobo arrivesƞGB DDR3 1600 G-Ability RipJaws RAM320GB SATA HDD

Particularly low heat! Overclocked to four.4 GHz on stock cooler with idle temps around 48* and around 75* below 100% load. Had to do quite tiny to get to four.2 GHz, pushed Vcore to 1.175 and VTT to 1.14, maxed the CPU multiplier on 23, and set FSB to 183. Temps had been incredibly nominal on stock cooler, ㅥ* idle, and 68* under loadGot to four.four GHz 192 FSB with 1.25 Vcore and 1.25 VTT, but temps were a tad high on stock cooling, and not particularly stable below 100% load. Umm, absolutely nothing I can really say bad about this. ㅌ$ less expensive than my old Core two E8400 stock 3GHz, which I got to four GHz, but could go no further, and that was with liquid cooling. For only 140$ you can have yourself a dual coreǚ thread 4.2GHz CPU running on stock cooling. Hats off to Intel for the Core i series. Runs twice as cool, twice as rapid as my roommate's Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition, which is operating 4 cores unlocked at 3.4 GHz (couldn't get higher with out overvolting and therefore breaching 80* temps) with a Windows Expertise Index of 7.1, Ɣ Actual cores) with 100% load temps around 80* with a high good quality air cooler. My Core i3 at 4.2 GHz 2 cores 4 threads gets a Windows Encounter Index of 7.3 for CPU, running at 68* below load on stock cooling.

Low cost, overclockable! At the moment operating @ 3800mhz 鴈mhz blk x 19). QPI 3200mhz Ɩ.4 gt/s). VCC 1.1875v in BIOS, 1.176 in CPU-Z. VTT 1.294v, PCH 1.161v. With ambient temps of ㆁF, its idle temps are in the high 30s and load ᤾. Cooler is a 212+ fitted with a noctua nf-p12 at agressively quiet (low) fan settings, with intake ducted in from the ambient air. Tested with realtemp+prime95.WEI processor score is 6.9 at these settings.I did not reach an overclocking wall yet, and so I can't say where it may possibly be. Living above a gas stove and dryer with no AC, I'm just thinking ahead towards summer and calling it very good. Ran warmer than I thought it would at stock -- load at ㅲC (but thankfully stayed cooler than I thought whilst OCing).Motherboard price was a tad rough compared to competing (non-ntel) platforms. ASROCK p55 PRO/USB34gb Gskill ECO series @ 1600mhz, 7-eight-7-1tI upgraded/built this machine for photoshop and lightroom. Fairly happy so far.

1. Price -- At about a third the expense of an i7 and half the price of an i5, this is a steal. two. Speed -- Operating OS/X ten.6.5 @ OC'd 4.0ghz, power on to desktop is less than 30 seconds. Still remarkably coolthree. Reality -- i3-540 minus Turbo Enhance equals i5-650. Quite impressive. 1. Whilst keeping up with the jones, its difficult to admit that to your buddies that you only have an i3. My recommendation: lie to them and say its a i5. :-)

Its' more quickly than I expected. I was kinda skeptic about working with the integrated hd graphics but it runs greater than I believed it would. Functions like a charm. I had my heart set on receiving an i7 for my create, but due to the mobo's only way to use the onboard hdmi and such I had to purchase a clarkdale processor for the IGP. I just noticed the new 1155 i7 with Integrated graphics now, while I am sad I didn't wait a few weeks more to acquire it. I can say honestly say this processor, for the price tag, will not let you down.

I purchased this as element of a household develop I just completed. I was only searching to invest 躔-軸 so the initially factor that drew me to it was the on-board HD video. I coupled it with a Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 motherboard and couldn't be happier. The video is far better than I had expected, even on a non-HD monitor. This processor is quick for the cost (got it on sale for 贉) and it blows away my other computers in the home. None that I can consider of. I don't actually play much in the way of high-end games, so I will almost certainly by no means genuinely max this CPU out. I also don't have any will need to over-clock so I also can't speak to how it works below these circumstances.
