( The Black Chips in the Circuit board of te Memory) But you will have to take out the heat Sink to llok at it. Kind of tall!... but I have Managed to make it appropriate... Scince i have a Custom CPU heatsink and fan.

It does operate @ 1066 with 1.8v doesn't have to be 2.2v. Great heat-sinks. Wasn't totally free!! I in all probability wont over clock it any but the prospective is there 1066 speed really should get us via till DDR3 and boards +processors get in a cheaper marketplace!

So far it functions as advertised Was unable to run at 1066 due to my Gigabyte GA-MA790X-DS4 Mobo. The board info says that it can run 1066 mem but so far no luck. I was capable to get it to run at 800+ due to some aid from a Gigabyte forum. So, its not seriously a con for Kingston just a warning to other folks who have a board that won't run 1066 even although it says it will. Newegg as often gets it to you quickly, often.

Had to nurse them into my my motherboard 1 at a time.... not Kingston's fault, much more like my mobo's manufacture. installation took like 4 times as longer then anticipated, (having to clear CMOS, set voltage and timings and adding one stick at a time) but they run properly so far.....

Like somebody else mentioned, read the other critiques. This is DDR2 800, NOT 1066. Quite much false marketing. My 8GB gags on any setting higher than 950 and adjust.Newegg is wonderful, as generally ... but if this had anybody BUT newegg, I'd have read the title, and performed investigation just before, I dunno, believing that mem advertised as pc2 8500 is essentially pcs2 8500. Really hard to believe that I'll now have to commence fine line reading to make certain that newegg is not just passing along false marketing.This is like selling a sports auto as "capable of 170MPH," the reading the customer manual and seeing "oh yes, if you use nitro, it will do 170." ALL automobiles will do over 170. Drop them from the plane. That's not the point. This marketing is still bogus. We'll see how badly we all get doinked about on the rebate. But for that, I wouldn't have purchased this stuff.

its a good obtain, but is not at 1066 speed, has to be oc'ed but wished there was much more documentation, on what the oc settings need to have to be for 1066... or would an individual share that info as nicely on here wished an individual did.. but other that that Linux nevertheless runs excellent and quick at the 800 speed just the 800 stock speed, but not actually a con, and lack of documentation on how to do so, and at what settings far more documentation on the 1066 speed woulda been good..

2 Sticks ƔGB) runs stable @ 1066 on two.2v. 4 sticks ƘGB) will only run stably at 800MHz on two.0v with five-five-5-18 timings. Dual-channel 鳀bit Ganged) still works well at this speed. This is not exceptional to this RAM. I had the exact same challenge but with 8GB of Corsair RAM. However, this Kingston was less difficult to configure and ran stably virtually proper away. AND with these great Heatsinks runs Substantially cooler than the Corsair.To clear my Sunbeam HDT style CPU HSF I grabbed a Scythe 120mm x 12mm slim fan and swapped it out for the stock fan on CPU HSF.

Accurate, it is excellent memory, but without work (As has been documented from many consumers of this item) it needs BIOS tweaking to make it show 1066. This is what limits my rating. Otherwise, low cost and efficient. The 800 mhz vs 1066 mhz factor is a major downer for me. I now have it working appropriate, but I know many novices that would not be able to do this. As I said, superior functioning product, just don't consider one ought to require to tweak to amke it operate as advertised.
