only paid 54.99 for it two years ago. worked for 2 years in my old pc devoid of any issues. Nice heat sinks. not actually 1066 ram. Well, I hope Kingston reads this due to the fact their marketing and advertising group expense them a client. This stuff is advertised as 1066 ram but, as you almost certainly all know, it is really 800mhz ram that requirements to be overclocked to 1066. Well, mainly because of this tiny slight on Kingston's part, they lost most of my company. I nevertheless employed Kingston in my parent's build since of its reliability, but I just develop a new I5-2500K pc and I didn't even give Kingston a 2nd thought. Fool me when, SHAME ON YOU KINGSTON!! Fool me twice....nope, I went with corsair. I hope my 1 sale was worth the loss of (former) loyal buyer.

A very quick memory module and it was at a good cost. This wasn't compatible with my system. At first I believed I had a defective module but placed it in another personal computer and it worked fine. You will want to make certain your computer system is HyperX compatible ahead of buying these. The heat fins stick up further then the image suggests. You'll want to make positive you have clearance for these chips.

Been a extended-time Kingston fan, and they did not disappoint. With DDR3 selecting up speed, this could be out-of-date for some people, but they are missing out. This is genuinely solid RAM. The heat-spreader made it a small tricky to place into the DIMM slot. I was afraid I was gonna break anything due to the fact it produced the RAM so much taller. I didn't, thankfully. This isn't a important concern, but I was absolutely nervous putting it in the 1st time. Not a large deal, just be careful and push straight in. It's genuinely heavy. For RAM, at least. Those heat spreaders are thick, and preserve it nice and cool. Plus the splash of blue (which is pretty much specifically as pictured for me...Not sure about the guy who stated it was virtually purple.) looks seriously nice.

bought this to replace my ddr2 800 i had in my asus p5ql pro mobo!but ended up placing these into her pc :( here windows score went from five.5 to 6.three going from ddr2 667 to these ddr2 1066, her board only allows it to run @ 800, but these run like unstable in my board, my 800 is superior from kingston as properly, they are the ddr2 800 hyper x beat these all day ddr2 800 run's way better here, just get the kingston hyper x 800 and oc it to 1066, execute's way greater and more stable i believe wasted my cash to buy these when already possessing ddr2 800 :(

ๆ.00 with rebate, excellent cost for DDR 1066, great heat sinks, nice blue color Truly avg price because this is truely DDR 800. Came in an opened package with seal already broken so as far as I'm concerned, it was recycled. Can't get 1066 @ 5-5-five-15, no matter what voltage u attempt. I ranged from 1.8 to 2.35 with blue screens coming out of my ears. I tried all variations using CL5. That's the (CAS Latency) 1st 5 above for these who are less tech savvy. Finally I got stability employing CL6. Ɩ-5-5-15) @ 1066 @ default voltage of 1.8. So the sticks are not voltage deprived, they are just slower then they are rated. BTW, memtest86 detects no errors all through my quest, but as soon as you play a game like Mass Effect two, u get a blue screen. I know all 1066 is overclocked 800, but any other brand of 1066 that I purchaced in the past overclocked to the rated specs. Why does Kingston try to market place this RAM as DDR 1066 when it isn't even close. I assume the older critiques reflect superior results. Possibly the lastest lots of these sticks arn't as fantastic or they recycle what's left. Most would have offered up on these sticks and would have either returned them or run them at 800, the speed that they are designed to run at. Shame on you Kingston, why don't you quit advertising this RAM as DDR 1066. You are a repuable company, are you attempting to tarnish your name? You can say that memory stability varies from motherboard to motherboard and blame it on board, but all these recent negative reviews have established the truth.

good heat sinks. good out of the box efficiency. at stock speeds stays quite cool to the touch. They look pimpish as well. not wonderful for overclocking -(not a con for most individuals), large, High Voltage-not truly a con but can be for some power savers out their. @ 5-5-five-15 two.2V highest stable speeds i can reach is only 1108Mhz. (tweaked timmings/voltage will run 1140Mhz)

Took out 2ƥG sticks and put in these twoƦG, booted up into Windows 7 64 bit, started prime95, running with no errors. If I wanted to tweak it to the max I'd run memtest86 but I genuinely don't require that last 1% of efficiency and will maintain it at 1.8V for lower heat and maximum longevity. None so far. In some Computer's, the ram height could cause a clearance issue but it's fine in my Pc. DDR2 is on the way out. Prices almost certainly aren't going to come down on DDR2, but I can't justify replacing a perfectly very good motherboard just to use DDR3.

It clipped in and fired up. Has not provided me any issues even with it becoming slightly overclocked. None I did have some difficulties with my Gigabyte motherboard not wanting to run it at 1066 till I played with the motherboard settings and also started overclocking the CPU. I also had to manually set my motherboard to give this RAM the 2.2V it asks for.

Following operating thru the motherboard issues to get this RAM up to speed, I am entirely and completely content with it. It performs quite well at advertised speed and beyond when I want it to. It didn't have a working profile with my motherboard. I got surprisingly superb assistance and a tech that was willing to grind a couple of hours away with me whilst we updated MoBo bios ect. Kingston has my business as extended as this level of assistance continues. I would recommend this firms ram to any person. Even when the issue was with my motherboard, the CSR supplied to replace my ram if it would make me pleased. I declined as he created every thing function for me but actually appreciated the offer.

1st factor I notice was it felt like a good quality item. Solid. The sticks I took out felt like cheap crackers in my hands compared to the Kingston. Time from arrival, shutdown, open, install, boot, open web browser was about five minutes. So simple. Now the speed. I upgraded from 2 GB of ddr-667... So of course I saw large speed improvements. So compared to that yeah, its quickly. Its quickly regardless although. I have LOTRO at incredibly high graphics, Word, Itunes, and 10 tabs up in my browser operating correct now. Switching between anything is instantaneous. I used to click a tab and wait two-three seconds for it to display. Hit alt+tab and waith 2-three seconds to switch. I am absolutely happy with the speed. If they don't brick I'll in no way have anything poor to say about these sticks. With no any other upgrades this stuff enhanced my system significantly. If your building a system from scratch and not going with ddr3 this stuff is fast regardless. No buyers remorse whatsoever.

This memory was good in the past, but not now. I bought this memory Feb 2011 and one out of the dual pkg was defective, sent it back and received a different with specifically the similar challenge. Returned for refund due to the fact I didn't want to waste far more money in shipping junk memory back. I have also seen an improve in postings of this equivalent behavior with a lot of vendors and not just Kingston. I assume memory makers in common have lowered their quality standards. I have purchased dozens of memory pairs in the past without concerns, but now I am hesitant to buy any till good quality gets much better. Buyer Beware. When you obtain dual packed memory and 1 is negative you have to send each back and hope that the subsequent set doesn't have a negative stick too.

the cost was good due to rebate. compatible. cutting the rebate leads to void in replacement. and locating out that it requires 1 to overclock to get to the advertised speed 1066. i didnt find out till i've currently cut the upc and sent it in. Modified bios on my asus p5q pro settings to 1066 anything else on auto. Program crashes and freezes windows 7 each so often. Forced to downgrade to 800 mhz now. i could have bought an advertised 800mhz for considerably more affordable/stable. extremely disappointed. product causes complications even at 800mhz. crashes applications, applications and windows7, automobile restart computer system. have to to deal with manufacture now.

I currently had a pair of these. I just purchased a second pair due to the fact I also had 4gb of generic ddr2-800 memory. My pc would not operate at 800 MHz ram frequency with the mixed branded memory. Now with 8 GB of the similar brand, personal computer operates fine at 800 Mhz. I changed the mb frequency to 1066. Second day, the laptop or computer locked up on me. I then had a reboot on the same day. I don't know what to make of it. I know that operating at 1066 is not regular process for several motherboards and this may possibly require some tweaking. I have purchased Kingston memory prior to and I know this is a respected brand. I have in no way had any problems. My process: Asus M4A785-M with Phenom II X4 965. I will run the technique by means of mem tests and play around with the BIOS settings. I'll post an update when readily available.

A single chip worked just fine! One particular chip didn't (read errors) It took me a small whilst to understand that my computer's failure to boot was the outcome of A single of the memory chips. Poor memory happens, and I'm in the RMA method now with newegg. I've been utilizing kingston memory for years, and this is the 1st time I've had an concern with them. Now, if I am not 100% happy soon after this RMA procedure, I'll be a bit put out. On the other hand, offered the history I've had with newegg, I doubt there will be an issue.
