The built-in Bluebird software is annoying, but all it takes is a simple firmware upgrade to remove it. Otherwise, the drive works perfectly and is good value.

It works perfectly like every other LG burners I owned before. Never got a coaster with any brand of blank media.

Had this drive for about a month, bought two of them, the first few disc reads and burns were super noisy, couldn't stand being in the same room, but after burning a few discs or so, they really became quiet, I cant even hear them now when they are reading or burning.

Seems to work like every other LG drive I have ever owned. I heard the bad reports about having Bluebird or something on the drive. I had the firmware version where it was removed, and with the latest firmware TN02, the drive is compatible with Windows 7 (although it installed and worked just fine during the install of all my programs and Windows 7 itself). Not a bad drive at all - does what it is supposed to.

It can be had for fairly cheap if you shop around, it burns DVDs and reads them like one would expect. The CD included comes with a bunch of software that is okay at best.

this product was really something that was on sale, and I needed another burner. The price is right and it works as any other DVD-R

This drive failed after a day of use. The failure appears to be mechanical; the drive tray is not ejecting. It's hardly worth packaging it up and returning it. This is the price we pay for cheap stuff, I think.

I had to get one from a coworker, but had it up and running quickly after that! Rips and burns DVDs quicker than any burner I've had yet. That bluebird junk is irritating though.

So I made the mistake of buying this without noting that it was sata and not IDE, but that was my fault. Ended up putting it in another machine and it works great. I'm not doing much with it though. Ripping DVD's and once in awhile buring one. It is quiet, works, and was cheap. A sata cable would have been nice, but very few items ever include that.

My first time using a SATA DVD Drive & it worked out nicely No problems Installing.. The LG & Nero Software is definitely a plus.. This drive is very good for the price. Thanks guys haven't let me down yet.. :)

I'd recommend it to anyone. From what I can see it's fast, reliable, the build quality seems good. Don't install the software. If you need drivers for old operating systems, get them on the Internet but don't install them with the CD since annoying software will be installed.

Fisrt SATA CD DVD burner I have purchased. Works just fine after you update the firmware to get rid of the annoying bluebird junk. would definitely buy another one, which I most likely will be doing in the next couple months.

I installed this drive and instantly had problems. The first time it is used after boot up the drive will freeze the computer. I have to manual turn off the computer. Once the computer comes back up I have to restart it correctly, then the dvd drive will work for about 10 minutes until it freezes everything again. Take the drive out and the computer works top notch. Don't be fooled by the good deal.

I bought this dvd burner for a customer, it does the job very good. Silent and fast, 22x it is all I wanted. I don't really use the light scribe feature. I don't have nothing else to say since its a burner and yes there are other models, but this one is good. I recommend it for people who wants burners, if you don't like it check the samsung ones.
