every IDE CD-Rom drive i buy when building a computer, it takes forever to get the drivers uploaded. This SATA drive, you plug in and go. I keep coming back to it because of the price and how easy it is to work with... it just works...

Good DVD-CD drive. Easy to install. Works fine. Button protrudes so it is easy to find by touch if your CPU is mounted under the desk.

I installed this last week and have used the heck out of it for DVD's and CD's with no problems. The price is perfect... no firmware problems at all

This was put in a recent PC build I did. It was chosen for the fact that it was the cheapest available that week. But for the price it performs well. I have a different one in my PC that burns very fast, but it isn`t a huge difference and for the price this is a great buy.

it is great dvd rom but some the negative is cant run on some of cd on some of different type of cd alike say specfic of cd wont work on this rom if use for dvd it good one product but some negative i recommend for dvd but if more than that use different kind rom

I owned this drive for several weeks. It installed flawlessly. I like it ability to drag and drop videos or music in a loading screen to burn. LG makes great products. I will buy again.

We bought this for a computer build to replace an old PC. So far, this drive has worked fine after 2 weeks in a Vista OS 64 bit system. I can't downgrade any rating areas because the price is so low. For this price, you can hardly go wrong.

It came with an annoying firmware program that required a firmware update to exorcise. The update was easy and otherwise, so far, so good.

I bought this unit for DVD-RAM capability, not easy to find in a cheap drive. It does everything I have asked it to do. The internal software that is there when the drive is empty has been no issue for me, as I run Linux, and the software is apparently aimed at Windows.

Once you remove the bluebird ad-ware by updating the bios on the drive it works real good, nice and quiet, and it seems to be everything as offered. You must go to the LG site to download the NON-Bluebird Bios upgrade.

I bought 3 theses drives and the worked good the only complain i had is when you close the drive and there are no DVD in it it will start a small program called bluebird that is imbeded into the DVD drive. i was able to flash it away with a bios update.

Everything works well. The only thing I don't like is that when there's no DVD in the drive, it still mounts it's own false DVD and Windows thinks you have a DVD in the drive. It's kind of annoying but for this price, it's not a big deal.

This drive installed and works like a champ. My only complaint is tat it is rather noisy.

The read speed is 16x not less, It does read RW a litle slow but DVD -R is very fast. The burner is fine at the I haven'y be able to try 22X burner speed but at 16 burn rigth oh remenber to updated the firmware
