Worked great right out of the box, Plug and play. One little problem with an adware being installed called Bluebird. Googled it and was able to easily remove. Great burner for the money.

not much I can say here.. it burns discs .. it does it well ..I normally buy samsung drives but this one was on sale at the time so I got it .. I'd buy it if it was cheaper ... but I almost always get the cheapest drives when I get a burner... I don't think there's much of a difference

Brand new out of the box this unit didn't work. It crashes Windows to a blue-screen as soon as I put a cd or dvd into it. Worst of all, LG won't respond to my emails. Oh, well, I suppose that this isn't the first time I've been scammed for 30 bucks...

DVD drive technology is one of those things that is mature enough that there really is little room left for improvements. I've used hundreds of LG drives in the past and have been happy.

yea the only problem i had with this, is that they didnt include a sata cord, nor did my harddrive and my motherboard only came with one so im a little boned

Work as intended... This product install a small program on windows XP.

Makes perfect copy of and dvd or back up at 8 to 16x remember to remove blue bird and update drive, by downloading file from LG web site.

Honestly, no one really needs an extremely good DVD drive. As long as it burns and reads everything...it's all good.

The product works as intended. It does include some ad-ware, named BlueBirds, embedded into its firmware, so that when the DVD drive is empty, it will still show up as containing the BlueBirds software. LG has released a firmware upgrade to remove this software.

This is a very good DVD drive for the price, but isn't really that special. Unless you are looking for something amazing, this is a perfect choice.

When i first booted my new system, it posted fine, asked for the OS boot disk, when i opened the drive bay and the computer crashed. After another boot with the drive in, the drive began billowing smoke, and it melted my other sata power connector, I would not recommend this drive! Didnt last 5 minutes in my new system and ruined my power supply!

this is a very good dvd burner it does what you need it to do for a cheap price ony thing is the adware called BlueBird it is easily to remove just update the firmware other then that it is great drive.

bought it not knowing that there is ad-ware build right in the firmware(TN00) U need to update to newer firmware (TN01) from LG's site, whether they knew about this or not does not impress me. I'm bringing this back, and buying what I really wanted Samsung Quality and performance is ok i guess. Sorry LG.

wanted to get a pioneer but they are no longer sold here. have always had issues with LG drives and i am sure this will be the same. bought it as it was the cheapest.

Works for what I want it to do. Would have rather bought from the competitor but they were sold out. Slow shipping and the packaging was sub par. I'm surprised that it even works at all.

Got all 4's as I was expecting a little more. No audio out but still performs.

If you want to remove BluBird, you can update  the firmware on LG website. Very easy to do. Overall I'm very satisfied with it. Would purchase again

Remember to do the firmware update. easy to get at manufacturer website. that way U wont have some strange bluebirds thing pop up! Easy mode after that. comes with O e m packaging next to nothing and little booklet.

I'll never buy an LG electronic device again. The box the DVD burner came in is worth more than the LG Super Drive model GH22NS50. $29 for DVD and $120 for tech support!

In the 21st century, DVD burners ought to be plug and go. This one is reminescent of the 1990's when installing a drive was a weekend project. You have to get a firmware update from the drive's manufacturer. Then the manual says that you need to quote contact your motherboard's manufacturer and get the appropriate IDE controller driver unquote. Don't waste your time messing with this drive! There are plenty of inexpensive drives that work from the moment you plug them in and turn them on.

Great DVD drive, very standard. Works right out of the packaging, as the same with most DVD drives nowadays...very standard equipment and tough to find a faulty one. Haven't run into any issues at all with this. Does its thing!
