Using it to play Blu-Rays on a 40" HDTV which is hooked up to my PC via an HDMI cable. You don't know what you've been missing until you've seen actual 1080p. All I can say is... WOW!!!!

This drive comes with Cyberlink Power DVD 8 HD that allows for blu-ray playback. Many drives at a much higher price point don't include this.It's fast, quiet, and I like the fact that you don't see any manufacturer branding on the drive anywhere.The price could come down a bit, but otherwise great value at the present time.

I got it for my HTPC and works well with my Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 Ultra in doing playback of Blu-ray movies in 3D. No problem with AnyDVD HD at all.

This is a great setup. Installed to Win XP with one easily correctable issue at no cost in my case. If you have any hardware and software installation experience that should get you through this minor issue. I had a low resolution error after installing Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 from the included disk. In my case it was caused because I have my computer hooked to a 720P 50 inch plasma panel. If it is an issue for you, temporarily set your monitor resolution higher or to the max to allow you to run the PowerDVD software. You should be prompted for and you must update the Cyberlink software with the FREE, FREE, FREE download. 90 plus MB download. Did I mention it was FREE? Once I updated, I've had absolutely zero problems with the software or player. Return your monitor to your favorite resolution. Loads fast and plays great. The poor mans way to watch Blu Ray. Now if those Blu Ray movies would just come on down to match.

This drive was easily installed on a Windows 7 64-bit PC and has worked flawlessly for me. I did upgrade the bios on the drive and also installed a free update for the Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 and Both work just fine. However, I normally use Windows Media Player instead of PowerDVD. I am happy with this purchase and would recommend it.

Installed this on Win 7 64 and it worked with at least a few BR discs. The surround sound worked even though the PowerDVD 8.0 that comes with it said it would not. After 5 days, the BR Disc Advisor informed me that the drive is not a compatible BR player. Seems like an elaborite scheme to get you to upgrade the software for a fee?

This drive seems a bit slow. Seems like it hangs a bit thinking about its next move. PowerDVD 8 BD come with it and it doesnt play any of my blurays, which I figued it wouldn't. I'll have to purchase the full version 10 for 99 bucks. sigh

Just so you know a PC blu-ray player will NOT work without a 3rd party software player,Order power dvd 9 and be done with it,you will end up with it eventualy any way.Having said that,this is a great deal on a good product!

Cheapest bluray drive I could find and the reviews were all favourable. Easy to install and seems to play all bluray discs fine. I'm a little disappointed the software included doesn't support 5.1 audio. Because of this I will look to other software players if I have to spend some more money.

I got my Blu-Ray ROM and was expecting a nightmare from all the reviews. It does have a setting for surround sound (I have a surround sound card installed) and it does come with the Cyberlink Power DVD 8. The picture is clear as a bell on a 1 gig nvidia card on my hd monitor and hd television. After installing it, Windows 7 64 found it. I do have to say it does not come with a sata data cord, since it is an oem, I wasn't expecting to receive one. The power dvd bundle program is actually really good. I have used power dvd since Power DVD XP and I am never disappointed. (doesn't make sense to say you got a nero 8 burner bundle program since it does not have a burner on it). I think it is a great value for the money I paid and by far exceeded expectations.

THEY PICTURE THE BLUE-RAY SOFTWARE on the drive site, but that is not what you receive. yOU RECEIVE n ero 8.0 OR 9.0 which will not have blue ray software in it THE BLUE DISC PICTURED DOES HAVE BLUE-RAY SOFTWARE RIP OFF

Bought this for a friend's build. Probably the cheapest way to get Blu Ray. Not a bad product if you don't need to burn CDs or DVDs.

Does not detect in windows. Software BD-ROM disc packages with drive will not read due to the lack of drivers. Checked Lite-On Corp. Website. Unable to download drivers. Completely unsatisfactory. I am really disappointed. Do not purchase.

Great no-frills drive for playing blueray. I'm using this in my media pc, works great. I wish it had burning capability, but I knew that when I ordered. Good drive for the price.

Expected quality from the known manufacturer. Installed easily and 7 did recognize the drive during installation. Still figuring out it's capabilities, but when compared to others through a benchmark it performs as well and in some case better. For the value it performs great.

Thought this might be the ideal solution to my wife's computer since she already had a dvd-burning drive. Turned out to be the single most trouble I've ever had with a PC component in the last twelve years. WinXP 32bit would not recognize it or anything on it even after installing UDF Reader 2.5. Would recommend using this drive with a newer OS perhaps. Sent it back and got a LG which included driver software for about $90. The LG unit worked fine after the driver was installed and haven't had any problems since beyond her monitor being non-HDCP compliant (an ill-conceived digital protection designed to sell more monitors I'm sure). The only solutions I've found so far to this is to either run an analog connection to the monitor (which kind of defeats the purpose of getting Blu-ray in the first place) or to run Anydvd HD edition which works but is very costly software. To Tigerdirect's credit, they were very nice and speedy about the refund process.

I purchased this drive as a last minute addition to a HTPC I was building. I had left a Blu Ray drive out because I thought that they were too expensive. I just happened to come across this one. The drive works great, plays movies without any issues. I've even used it to back up a couple of my Blu Rays. It fits my case perfectly, and the eject button lines up with the case so no modding was required to make it work. Would definitely recommend.

Great deal for 60 bucks. For the person who rated this device a 2, I apologize but that person is a moron. Please learn to read a product description and don't assume things when you have no clue about it! Do simply think a product that just reads is no longer made is based on what? This unit is great and works 100% the way it is supposed to unlike some people's brains and or reading skills.
