Linksys WMP54G 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter
Cons:slow connection

Pros:reasonable quality, easy to install
Comment:
The install worked flawlessly and was very easy to do. However, moving the computer across the house to the other side (not a big house) drops the rate down to no more than 1 Mbps.To its credit, I've yet to see a lost connection. My WAP is via a USR 8032 router/WAP combo.

Linksys WMP54G 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter
Cons:works terrible with a dlink WBR-1310

Pros:works really really good with linksys routers
Comment:
Tried to get it working with a dlink wbr-1310, what a nightmare. Constantly dropping connections when it actually connected and had problems connecting 10 feet from the router. Swapped it out for a dlink card and solved the problem. I tried it with 2 models of linksys router and it worked perfect with both. Lots of range; no problems connecting on a different floor in the opposite end of the house and zero dropped connections. The driver it shipped with was a bit out of date, get the latest off the website for max performance.

Never had a bit of trouble with it. A get about a 89% signal at 5 foot range with two walls and a bathroom between. It is a good card. So I give it a 4

Cons:-None encountered

Pros:-Good price-Native linux support with Ralink chipset
Comment:
I bought this to replace an ailing D-Link card, and I have no complaints whatsoever. It performs well, had good Linux support, and obviously good Windows support. Chosen for the price, delivered the performance.

Linksys WMP54G 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter
Comment:
It worked ok in the beginning then all of a sudden the signal strength dropped. Tried new router, upgraded firmware and finally installed an external antenae. That worked great at first then AGAIN the signal strength dropped to nothing. Again swapped hardware and such but not good. Swapped out cards and voila, good signal strength. I'm not pleased with this item. I gave it 2 stars because it worked for a while.

Linksys WMP54G 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter
Cons:Intermittend disconnects

Pros:Good signal
Comment:
I paired this with my WRT54G-L Linksys router because I assumed they would rock together. For the most part this hold true, but I keep getting intermittent disconnects. The connection resumes usually after a few seconds, but then I have to reconnect putty etc. It's definitely not the router itself because my Linux laptop never has this issue.

Linksys WMP54G 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter
Cons:found the software to be useless, at least on the system I installed it to

Pros:Good range, even at a distance
Comment:
All in all, I'm pleased with this wireless adapter. I combined it with a Linksys WRT54GL router, and it gets pretty good range. The router is on the other side of the house, and down a level from the PC, and it gets 36Mb. Although I'm fairly certain I can increase this.. there's a lot of other RF devices around the router, so I can try changing the frequency channel, and it's also sitting close to my TV, which may be causing some interference. I found the software on the Linksys install CD completely useless, as all it did was freeze the system everytime it went to initialize. This may be due to the older PC it was installed on, but it wasn't a problem. Booted into safe-mode, uninstalled it, then rebooted normally and just directed the windows installer to the driver directory on the cd. The windows XP wireless connection manager works fine. Just remember your encryption! I quickly discovered my neighbour's network is sitting wide open ;)

Linksys WMP54G 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter
Cons:no weaknesses; this card is ultra pwn!

Pros:perfect 5 bars, 54Mbps when my old asus card was always at 2-3 bars, 22Mbps... the asus was disgusting.
Comment:
it just worked out of the box, and worked GREAT. I had to ditch my old Asus card when I constantly had to bang it with a screwdriver just to get it to work, so I just said F it and threw it out, replacing it with this Linksys. I'm so glad I did that!

Linksys WMP54G 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter
Cons:None that I can think of.

Pros:Easy to install and use.
Comment:
I needed a cheap, reliable wireless pci card, and on sale for $39.99, this was the perect solution. I had no issues with compatibility, and have nothing to complain about the signal strength. The only thing I had a problem with was the software, but that can easily be switched over to winXP's wireless utility.

Cons:Price

Pros:FastReliableNative Linux driver

I use this card daily as an access point for my wireless network and I'm amazed. I have near-perfect speeds, and the linux driver is available as a native binary, not a ndiswrapper crap. Linksys quality.

Cons:Antena is kinda big so sometimes its hard to place it out of the way in the back of your tower, but not too big of a problem.

Pros:Great signal strength.Easy installation/setup.
Comment:
I've been using this product with a linksys router and it works great. Even with the router being on the other side of the house from my computer the adapter has never dropped a connection yet and its almost always been full strength.

Linksys WMP54G 32bit PCI2.2 Wireless-G Adapter
Cons:Software installation instructions are unclear.

Pros:Excellent connection quality.
Comment:
Opening the box, you'll see a CD envelope with a big orange sticker saying "RUN ME FIRST" or something to that effect. So I did - I installed the Linksys software and then installed the hardware. However, though I could get the thing to connect to my D-Link router, I would get no internet access. If you are using Windows XP SP2(not sure if it applies to versions before that), install the hardware first. When the "Found New Hardware" wizard pops up, shove in the Linksys CD. After I followed THIS installation procedure, everything worked very well. The problem is, I was under the impression that I was doing everything according to their directions, and it took a look into the Linksys knowledge base to discover this information.Otherwise, I'm very happy. Signal strength and consistency is much better than a D-Link adapter (DWL-G650 I think) that I had located in the same spot relative to the router. Installed in XP, the card uses Windows' wireless management, which is a lot more pleasant than having to deal with a proprietary utility.

Cons:Doesnt seem very strong at picking up the signalCant increase powerSome disconnects

Pros:Pairs up well with a linksys router
Comment:
Overall I like the pair of the linksys wrt54g router and this, very easy to setup (like they say) but the strength of the two could be better, and I get disconnected like twice a day, oh well, when it works, it works well.

Cons:-Card - no weaknesses.-Bundled software is crap. Don't need it though since the card works great with the Windows XP wireless features.

Pros:-Good quality.-Range/Signal level is excellent.-Reliable.
Comment:
Bought one of these to connect my son's computer to my WRT54G. The router is in the family room (basement) and the computer is on the upper floor of the house approx 20' away through 4 walls & 1 floor. It works great. Signal strengh is always at MAX and the bitrate is always at 54Mbps. As far as I'm concerned, it's as good as a 100BaseT connection (except for half the speed). I'm buying 2 more.... BTW, take the reviews at CNET and other places with a grain of salt.... This review was modfied by poster @ 02-24-06 10:35 AM

Awesome product! I bought this along with the WRT54G router, and I am very happy with the results. I had some problems setting up the router, but the card was a piece of cake. The software is very user friendly, even to those with no network knowledge at all. The Secure Easy Setup doesn't work, but you're more secure setting it up manually anyway. Range is not a problem through six walls and a floor, and the speed is phenomenal. Very Pleased!!
