This factor is wonderful! Looks great in our den. We have 4 desktops, three laptops and an Xbox, My gaming Pc that is hooked up to the gigabit connection under no circumstances has an situation, but, all of our wireless stuff could as properly be on dial up. dropped signals, lost signals, from 300+mbps to nothing. I should have read ALL of the reviews. Do NOT get this router unless you need to have a paper weight! What a terrible item!! I forgot why my final two routers have been Netgear, but, I will refresh my memory!

Comment:
Low-cost (got it on sale and used a coupon code), small - doesn't take up a lot of room, funky styling, four-gigabit ports, can disable web utility access through wireless (some routers you can't disable this), internet utility access via https (some routers only http). Wireless "G" range is really very good in my 3 story property - can't comment on wireless "N" because I don't have any of those devices. Gets extremely hot! I have it raised a couple of inches to let airflow underneath but it's nevertheless hot. The following are cons to me because other routers I've employed don't have these quirks - Can't modify the User name field to log into the router - it's generally blank! In the router's internet utility it does not display the total router up time. Safety mode is either WPA OR WPA2 - other routers I've owned had the ability to choose WPA AND WPA2 at the same time so I could have my laptop set at WPA2-AES for maximum security and still let my old legacy Zune that only supports WPA-TKIP to use the wireless at the exact same time. With this router I have to leave it set at WPA for the Zune to sync through wireless. I bought this to replace a refurb Netgear WNR3500 that died following 4 months (no additional refurbs for me)! I personally choose the Netgear's config utility and DD-WRT that was operating on my old Linksys WRT54G v8 (doesn't have gigabit ports - hence my cause for acquiring the WRT320N). DD-WRT is a 'Work In Progress' for this router. Hopefully it will be readily available soon and repair some of my cons for this router. As other people have mentioned with this being a dual-band router (NOT simultaneous) if you want 5 Ghz only "N" and "A"can be applied. If you have "G" devices you'll HAVE to set it at 2.four GHz for those to operate. Due to the fact I only have wireless "G" devices this is a non-problem. If you have mixed "N" AND "G" I'd fork over the additional funds for a simultaneous dual-band router. I'd honestly return this router if it wasn't for the 15% restocking fee that I'd be hit with. Oh yeah, make sure you flash the firmware with the most up-to-date release - at the moment v1..03.

Easy to configure. Crashes all the time now. The connection goes down and the router becomes inaccessible. Only option is to reboot. I preserve it in a well ventilated location. It crashes randomly whether there is a lot of site visitors or no visitors. It did this a handful of occasions when I very first purchased it but then it went away for a while so I stayed with it. Now it's been carrying out it again. Garbage.

DD-WRT = five port Gigabit bridge for below 贄. None DD-WRT is wonderful if you're willing to do the investigation for a suitable develop. I planned to use this unit as a repeater off the a/n 5GHz band of a WRT600N (stock). I was not satisfied with the efficiency so I switched it to b/g/n on the two.4GHz band...yuck. The performance is much improved surprisingly. This factor is power hungry...... extension cords lead to my unit to reboot. I have a WGA600N that'll manage the 5GHz band just fine. Either way it's a good deal.

Effortless Setup at 192.168.1.1. None yet. Using the LINKSYS WMP600N card on my desktop, I get 270 Mbps through 2 walls, a desk, a monitor at a distance 12 feet. Operates great. For kicks I produced the router wireless N only and plugged in my older wireless G to an open port, gave it a new IP and it works on the network without a hitch.

Comment:
This router has a good form-aspect, and is capable of wireless transfer speeds of up to five megabytes per second. There are numerous threads on the online warning that this modem's speeds drop over time. I'm running the most up-to-date firmware on this router. When it's reset and freshly plugged in, I get extremely rapidly transfer speeds. Nonetheless, over the subsequent numerous days, the speeds drop down to ultimately lower than 100 kb/s, which is unusable for significant file transfers inside my network. I've attempted the fixes accessible online, and none has worked. I guess I will attempt installing WW-DRT before I bite the bullet and obtain yet another router!

Gigabit makes transferring to my WHS a lot more rapidly. Though I have no N gear my G laptops seem to establish a connection and have quicker transfer speeds than on my old WRT54GS, maybe probs with old radio? Can't wait for new laptop with wireless n card, and wish Sony would make an adapter for ps3. No DD-WRT... yet. Linksys firmware is functional, but not quite a few attributes. Took me a although to make a decision on what new router/AP to get. Got this mainly because of good price tag (under 贄), gigabit wired, and mainly because of the excellent experience I had on my older Linksys products.

Gigabit quick, DD-WRT compatible, superb signal range. Gorgeous case. Not dual wireless, you can only use B/G ƒ.4Ghz) OR A/N ƕGhz). Some random reboots, possibly attributed to DD-WRT firmware. I don't have any N devices as my network is almost exclusively Gigabit Ethernet. On the other hand, our two laptops keep a rapid signal even when we go out to the pool (apartment complex). No problems connecting Android telephone or Linux Computer. What small troubles we have with this unit can be attributed to the aftermarket open-source firmware we use.

Comment:
None. The router would not accept any settings, such as MAC address filtering, immediately after the initial setup. After three contacts with Linksys technical support on their live chat method, the scenario only became worse, mainly because then the wireless was completely unsecured. Following spending over three hours of my own time on the resolving the problems, I gave up. Newegg cheerfully authorized a return for a for complete refund, and paid the shipping, also. The Linksys assistance agents seemed to be pleasant, attentive, and useful. However, the assistance was ultimately ineffective. It did not support that two of the chat sessions terminated unexpectedly.Overall, I do not fully grasp my treatment by Linksys. From my perspective as a customer, I received a new product that did not function, but it was my issue to fix, not Linksys. I do not understand why Linksys would not have right away offered me with an exchange for a new, functioning item, and then resolved the troubles with the original item on its o I will be looking for a router from an additional manufacturer.

Set Up Effortlessly. Worked okay, but see beneath. Wireless information transfer speed and range had been only slightly superior than my seven year old Netgear economic climate router. I was seeking for far more of an improvement. I've returned the unit and will do some much more analysis just before I purchase an additional. When transferring a folder of assorted files, it would regularly take a couple minutes to send the first smaller file (like a single meg), then go significantly faster. I searched their on-line support, but identified no reference to the issue.

Uncomplicated set-up and connection to all my devices which includes to wireless adapter on DVR. Stable. Lights on leading light up wall and ceiling in dark room at night. Haven't truly noticed a speed distinction between G and N. But I'm sure it almost certainly helps when the DVR is downloading shows. Mine doesn't appear almost as hot as others make it seem and it's sitting on top rated of my DSL modem, absolutely nothing else about them. Mines warm, but not hot at all. Range great for my wants in and outside my house for me to preserve a superior connection.

- Very good interface for configuration- Nice techy aesthetic appear w/smallish form aspect- Dual band for 2.4 or five GHz broadcast- Wireless N and G capable on 2.four GHz setting- Gigabit speeds if difficult wired- Caught a 1 day sale cost and got it for แ.99! Does not operate in dual band simultaneously, this implies that you can\'t connect 802.11g peripherals to the wireless network if broadcasting on 5Ghz, you can only connect wireless N peripherals. Unfortunetely I missed this con when I purchased it in a hurry to catch the very good sale. Even though I have the con listed above I am nonetheless in a position to connect my wireless G and N peripherals to this solid router employing the 2.four GHz broadcast.Recommendation - If you are making use of your router for largely WiFi and want to operate on 5GHz I would suggest the WRT400N which broadcasts dual band simultaneously ƒ.4 and 5GHz at the exact same time).

Low-cost The "Reset" button is wired incorrectly during production. There are several fixes on the world wide web, including soldering a jumper to make the proper connection, but actually that's inexcusable. The drop-out of download speeds is a continuous nag. It requires a power cycle every 1-3 days, frequently various a day. Linksys support is grade C at ideal. The computer software that comes with this is just bad. Overall this is my worst electronics buy in over a decade. Keep away from this model. Thankfully NewEgg was type adequate to take mine back even though my wife purchased it as an X-mas gift and it was past the return period. Summary: Get a different router (seriously), but invest in it from NewEgg to insure excellent customer service Following the sale. Read neutral world-wide-web critiques of this model before buy.

DD-wrt has a firmware for it.very good throughput. i get a lot much better speeds then my earlier router for both inside network and to the web.Gigabit ethernetWireless-N plus backwards compatability. included software program.problems with legacy devices connecting.initial setup needed windows for me, i attempted to use the web-interface at 1st but was unable to get my laptop to connect. utilised the cd rather and had no issues at all.i noticed that in N-mode i had no problems connecting my laptop even without working with the CD.-following installing DD-wrt firmware none of this was a challenge. i utilised the original firmware for a extended time and often had difficulty with the Mixed wireless mode.immediately after changing to a DD-WRT firmware all my problems have disapeared.people today complain about the router overheating and having troubles with older devices connecting.DD-WRT gives you the selection to underclock/overclock the processor and underpower or overpower the wireless. this gives you the ability to turn down either of these if you have difficulty with heat. or turn them up if you have trouble with speed/connectivity.

Smaller than I thought. Runs only a fuzz hotter than my WRT54G, which I kept and cascaded off of this one for 2 protected networks. 74mbps on two.4Ghz, 150mbps on 5Ghz. (Was acquiring 54mbps on the WRT54G). And that's 30ft. by means of two walls. World wide web loads 2x-3x faster. Setup was a breeze. Zero hic-ups. 1000mbps wired. Each routers up & operating dual networks & playing nicely with every single other, so now I devoted the 320N to 5GHz & the N-only solution, though the 54G is operating two.4GHz on G-only. Great. Exactly what I wanted. Backup wireless network a definite plus. Range is very good. DD-WRT is awsome, but unnecessary for me, so I flashed the 320N back to latest Firmware from Cisco....call me crazy.I was a small hesitant to obtain this router at very first with all the mixed evaluations, but I'm glad I did. I'm thinking the individuals who got duds had been just that...non-updated "oopsies" from the factory. None from me....as extended as it holds up this performance. If one thing goes amuck, I will repost with an update. I have a 90ft. extended ranch residence in a nation setting w/no signal troubles, for whatever that's worth.

Comment:
When it was operating with the stock firmware, it was good. Quite fast connections with wired and wireless and wonderful range. This rourter also has native support for DD-WRT 3rd-party firmware, and it's practically essential simply because... Not 3 days immediately after my Newegg return policy expired, the router began to drop wireless connections just about every 15 minutes. No quantity of resetting and reloading the firmware helped. Rather of dealing with Linksys tech support, I elected to install DD-WRT, and although the firmware is additional complicated, it generally fixed my wireless connection problems. With DD-WRT, you can lower the router's transmission power, which can have minimal impact on range, but make it run a lot cooler. If you're interested in DD-WRT, it is imperative that you install builds particularly created for the WRT320N.
