This is the first non-stock Intel heatsink I have installed. The push and twist is a bit trickier than the Intel model, and patience and care is required for either installation. If the post is not pushed down all the way before locking into position, it will not hold to the board. This unit and the stock Intel fan/heatsink both cause the mobo to flex. Performance wise, it is keeping my processor as cool as the Intel heatsink/fan. After a week of running 7/24, the unit has not popped off the mobo. However, I am going to try ta product that has a bracket & screw assembly such as the Masscool 8W553.

This fan was somewhat difficult to install, but once installed the thing works like a beast! I have a Intel Celeron D 355 3.33 GHz processor and I have never seen it get above 32 degrees C (about 95/96 F). Does it's job and does it well!

The fan and price is good. But I don't like the plastic clip. I spent 20 minutes to install it. It's very hard to lock on the motherboard. Never us the plastic stuff.

This fan is great!!! I run a 2.93GHz with no problem in a case with bad ventilation. Never had any problems. Also bought it for a dual core system... no problem so far. Its definitely worth the money.

Installed last night. No instructions with the fan, had to guess on getting the clips to work. First attempt didn't work and it fell off when I stood the case up. Pressed down harder and it stuck. Isn't as loud as my last fan, but only runs at 2400 RPM I guess. Think I will try a different paste than what came with it - other fan kept the CPU from 45-60C (Pentium D 830, 3.0 GHz). Now, at idle it's 70C and saw it go up to 80C. Motherboard temp says 45C though. If better paste helps, I'd give this 5 stars.

I ordered it yesterday, I got it today... 'nuf said about that. Installs really easy. You just have to make sure it is pushed down all of the way.

Received a DOA fan, ok - it happens. Then began the fight with the replacement fan to get to to STAY on the mobo. Oh you can get it to FIT - but STAY? While any jolt to a system is bad, putting it in a car and driving it somewhere should NOT cause the fan assembly to fall off, and nothing confidence inspiring like poppin the case in front of a customer on a new systm to reseat the fan. The problem is plastic tabs can be tricky, and if you mess with them too much, they wont hold securelly. It does work well (38C MAX), wished they'd redesign the mounting hardware.

Present temperature -----> 38.2C. I don't know why people have so much trouble with installing this fan. You twist the clips one way, push down, twist the clips back to lock it. The fan runs whisper quiet, and it keeps my Celeron D 360 running at a nice 40C. To make the point even better, I used the thermal grease that came with and it's in an Ultra Microfly case. 2 Hard drives, 2 DVD drives, and an ATI All-In-Wonder card all wedged in there too. Great buy, does the job with no problems at all. Might get down to low 30's once I get some Ultra 5+ to replace the stock thermal grease.

Fan works well and keeps my PD 920 cool, however I agree aith the others and am not crazy about the MOBO installation clips. Better clips would have gotten it a 5.

I originally submitted a bad review for this fan but it never got posted. I found it incredibly noisy at first, never mind the difficulty to install. However, now that its been running a few months the noise level has gone down substantially. So, other than awful installation, I have given this fan 4 stars.

I don't understand how people got problems from this fan, i'm not a PC builder pro nor do i ever claim to be, but i have built a few PCs and this is the first time i've used this fan. to say the least, it's by far one of the best i've had. i have a 3.2 P4 HT and the highest i've seen is 32°C and that's with the paste that came with the fan (i know i should have bought arctic silver but it slipped my mind >_

Screws are a terrible design. They are impossible to install and obtain a secure fit. I've, all of a sudden, been having problems with freezing before and after booting the OS (WIN 2000 Pro). During trouubleshooting found the screws had lost their purchase and the fan was so loose as to fall away from the CPU. Repeated efforts to re-tighten met with failure. DO NOT recommend this fan.

I just recieved this fan for my Pentium D 840 3.2 GHz processor and everything runs very smoothly. I used Arctic Silver. Idles at 90.5*F I also have a total of 5 case fans. I highly recomend it.

Used Arctic Silver 5. The assembly installed easily (clicks all around) and kept a 2.8 GHz Dual Core around 100-110 degree F but when used with a 3.2 GHz dual core, idle was 118-120 degrees F and under heavy processing, temp went to 150 degrees F and I got the overtemp warning. My opnion is there's not enough surface area at the processor/heatsink to transfer high heat outputs of processors above 3.0 GHz.

When functioning correctly this keeps my CPU nice and cool around 39 C. The problem is that the clips aren't very tight in the board which doesn't always give it the best contact and my processor will get to hot and cause system instability.

Okay fan. I installed it into my cpu and the the little button pressers made it very hard to get in. I helped my friend install the same one, but it was so lose and wobbly and the buttons got jammed, so he has to get a new one. HIGHLY RECOMEND A FAN THAT WILL STICK EASIER

Nice Quiet cooler. Don't know how people have a problem intalling?! Just make sure you get the ultra silver compound. The stuff that comes with it is insufficient to do the job! Do it or else you will be looking at excess temperatures. I am so glad I did not fill this out after I used the stock compound. It ran at 65 to 80c and now it runs 30 to 40 c under a full load! Granted I am only using a d351 processor running at 3.7ghz overclocked. Plan on adding a D960 very soon!
