Works well with one caveat.
Comment:
I've installed it on a system where the boot device uses the standard IDE channels. Under such a system, installation is utterly standard. Put the card in, put the drivers CD in, install the drivers (hang on to the box for the part number, the instruction sheet is useless) and off you go. Only problem with the card is that the IDE cable placement will interfere with the PCI card immediately beneath it. You will need to plan your device layout accordingly. The SATA ports don't share this problem.

Worked perfectly
Comment:
Truly plug and play. I have a computer running Vista home premium 64 bit. I plugged this in and it was immediately recognized. I used it to install an old IDE drive into my new computer, which only has SATA connections. As soon as I turned my computer back on the old drive was recognized and available. Awesome product.

No instructions but works as designed.
Comment:
As others have noted you cannot use the red SATA cable with the external slot on this card. It can only be used on the internal SATA slots. It must also be seated into the motherboard perfectly in order for it to be found (took me 4 tries). The drivers are located in the folder with the number that matches the card (in my case the VT-6421 folder). Works with Win2k Ed.2

Good card for the money
Comment:
Bought this card for use with an older AOpen s651m board that doesn't support SATA. Installed without any problems (XP SP3). Appears to be working quite well interfacing a DVD-RW drive. Transfer rate is faster than I expected. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Does what it needs, with caveat
Comment:
Not a bad product, insofar as it works as advertised, but I have two caveats for a would-be purchaser. 1. I installed this on an Emachines T2862, and I cannot get the machine to recognize the attached drives as bootable. I think the bios may be at fault (the driver installs from Windows), but I cannot find an update from a site I would consider reliable. This may be a matter of trying to push an old machine too far, so be aware if you're in a similar position. And if anyone has a suggestion, please post. Second, the exterior connection is SATA, not Esata. Given that almost all external drive enclosures come with esata to esata cables, this is a design flaw. I had to buy a separate sata-esata cable to make a connection. Having ironed out all the difficulties, the T2862 is cooking away as a home server with 2.5TB drive space. A solid but not spectacular card, decent value for the price.

works well

Installed in older machine using MSI KM4M motherboard. Attached a Seagate ST31000528AS Barracuda 7200.12 (1 TB) SATA drive. Ubuntu 8.04 Linux had no problem finding, formatting and accessing the drive. Have not tried to measure performance, but seems fine for my application.

Great hardware for a cheap price!
Comment:
I purchased this product with the intention of combining Eide and SATA hard drives. I also was able to combine Eide and SATA optical drives. In total I have a total of eight devices and have filled all empty slots in my PC tower. The Masscool XWT-RC018 3-Port SATA product is an excellent product. The setup was flawless for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. I would recommend this product to anyone, especially those with the intention to run Eide + SATA devices simultaneously.

Good performance at 1.5 Gb per sec. For installation on windows XP just delete the hardware on My PC/hardware profile and reebot, it will charge the drivers automatically; Couldn't find them on line. Works excellent

Straight forward installation, perfect function. I have not used the eSATA, or the EIDE capabilities yet, but the internal SATA ports were exactly what I needed, and I liked the ability to expand in the future.

Works great!
Comment:
One thing to remember if you are ordering this is that you will need to order power cable adapters for your devices if you don't already have enough coming off your power supply as I didn't. But other than that, it was pretty much plug and play, they include a drivers disk with the raid software and drivers. And I had everything installed and running in about 30 min.

This thing worked like a dream
Comment:
I installed the drivers before I turned my XP machine off and installed the card. Turned it on, bios recognized it, and XP recognized the card and the drive I plugged into it after a brief "found new hardware" installer installed some stuff. I could not be any happier with this thing!

Best Product
Comment:
I got your products, installed them. The products were recognized by windows, but I haven't used or done any transfers of material and for some reasons the harddrive doesn't show at start up time. You know why? Now, this is probably for the technical contractor; but just in case.
