Had all the ports/slots that I wanted. The Realtek HD audio is wonderful! The Drivers have been quite uncomplicated to set up and didnt need more than ten minutes.Nice colour for the motherboard. none at all. not genuinely a con, but if you want to upgrade your RAM ultimately you could want to get another board, hence the two RAM slots. I really like it! It replaced a Gigabyte 1 that was DOA, Im glad I made the switch to MSI

I am quite pleased with MSI merchandise. I have a K9A2 Platinum in my create at home. I utilised this board in a make that I did for some household members. I know they will be pleased. To quote what another guy wrote about the 790FX-GD70, " The colors are great and it doesn't appear like a paintball accident." I haven't identified any but. Far Cry2 is one of the coolest games. I like it, mainly because I can create maps and host them. Total pwnage. Far more games ought to offer you this function.

Extremely Cheap. Board is quite trustworthy when drivers are operating. I am a Personal computer tech and develop hundreds of computer systems for my customers month-to-month I have always loved this board when creating a small business unit. Recently in the last couple weeks I have had hundreds of clients calling me with claims of BSOD issues. I have linked this issue straight with the present drivers on the ati website for the 4200 HD card. I have contacted ati and have been told more than and over that it is not the graphics card. In each and every instance of BSOD, the issue was fixed by reverting the updated drivers back to the original drivers. This is clearly a Driver issue and ATI will not repair it. If you obtain this board, you will get a BSOD, I guarantee you. If any ATI / MSI reps are browsing this forum please respond to what I have written and get in contact with me.Been a tech for more than 15 years, developing and repairing all units. It looked marvelous and showed promise. I'm pretty sure Fisher Price is MSI's only competitor. The board would not recognize any USB peripherals. As I was making use of this board to develop a NAS, I intended to boot the Ubuntu installation off of a thumb drive (thereby not needing a CDROM). That didn't definitely work out. Now I'm afraid I'm going to be sent an inferior product even after the RMA. I'm sorry ASUS. I'll never cheat on you with a little taiwanese boy with palsy's loving manufacturing operate once more. * Radeon HD 4200 IGP defaulted to 200Mhz 2D, 500MHz max. Manual max at stock-voltage was around 740MHz.* Has physical clear-CMOS-jumper alternatively of finky Dual BIOS, and so forth characteristics.* BIOS gives little VCORE and FREQ measures.* supports AMD OverDrive for CPU info and tuning, but MSI Afterburner far better on IGP information.* SB710 supports ACC, enabling unlocking disabled Phenom II cores.* ISL6323A VCORE PWM controller offers .0125V measures.* RightMark Audio Analyzer 16b 44.1k on ALC888S was Great, Excellent, Great, Quite Fantastic, Extremely Fantastic, Quite Fantastic, Incredibly Excellent, but falls apart above 44.1kHz. An O/Cd IGP loses low-power added benefits. With prime95 for weeks, the VCORE energy circuitry was extremely hot even as low as 90W_DC TDP, but substantially worse upto around 130W_DC TDP. At either load, the mainboard was helped by Enzotech 10pcs BMR-C1 ྫ including HD-Audio CODEC), 5pcs MOS-C10 heatsinks on the power circuitry, and fan directly above the heatsinks (at 130W_DC they were about 133*F, 56*C beneath prime95). A lot more than a 90W_DC TDP CPU, even with heatsinks and fan would be poor lengthy-term.I don't remember seeing a Fintek F71882FG SuperIO ahead of, but it appears to work. This mobo worked excellent out of the box with my two.5ghz AM2 dual core processor. It has been five months now and it nevertheless runs excellent. None We use it to watch Television and films through NetFlix, Hulu and other internet sites such as TNT, CBS, and so on. Our 720p 32" Television is connected straight to the HDMI port and it works wonderful. Now we are going to add an AverMedia A188 card and start recording OTA. We had cable Tv but it was crazy how a lot you pay for Tv programming. Besides the local channels by means of OTA look so a lot greater than when viewed more than cable.

Affordable, free of charge shipping, stable with an AMD X2 550 BE (no overclock or unlocked cores). All USB and SATA ports working, and not terrible onboard audio(HDMI audio performs!) or video (ATI 4200) is always a plus. This board has the capacity to unlock Got it for 59.99 and free shipping, thanks Newegg. The board didn't auto recognize my G.Skill DDR2 at 1066, but quickly fixed in bios. No other hardware associated issues and nothing to knock off an egg for. Fresh install of XP with no problems. I can't wait to unlock the 550 to extend the life of this rig, but it's not required correct now.

Uncomplicated to setup, worked immediately with my processor (Phenom X4 9750). Essentially ran cooler on this board than my earlier one particular. A lot of upgrade choices considering that it supports AM3 processors. Great choice for an HTPC. Shipped with existing BIOS Ƙ.2). No eSata; no sideport memory -- though I knew this going in, so it's not a surprise. I am very satisfied with this board, and MSI in general. I have 2 MSI boards at the moment, and both are winners (including this one particular). I have attempted Asus and Gigabyte, but simply have had far better luck with the MSI offerings, specifically in the HTPC arena. As far as the eSata miss -- I just bought a sata to eSata connector bracket. Issue solved, ŭ bucks on a well-liked auction web site. It would be nice to have it on board, but this is no longer an issue for me.

Stable, rapidly, integrated HD GPU, Straightforward Install, and Built-In Overclocking up to 20% LAN driver I had to replace a new ASUS mobo due to it constantly powering down. I only place this MSI mobo in with identical exact hardware and got faster and more stable functionality. On the other hand, MSI always has an challenge with LAN drivers so be cautious if you set up on a LAN.

When I bought this, it was a fantastic value for the tech involved. It has all the ports I wanted, except for e-SATA which was not a deal breaker but would have been good. The manual is above average for a spending budget board, they truly are lousy these days. Even so the manual will not inform you how to get the most out of your mobo.I like the msi reside utility in windows, it performs properly. MSI is a trusted organization for me.Seems to be high quality components, the caps and heatsinks are nice except the southbridge has a normal light aluminum HS, but does a fine job maintaining the technique temp cool. The northbridge HS is robust. As other folks have pointed out its a very aesthetically pleasing board, would be nice for a windowed case. All round, a winner in my opinion. The BIOS is a funky beast, I hope they update soon. The board I just bought has the only BIOS accessible Ƙ.), so I don't believe its been upgraded however. At times the BIOS just locks up, like when seeking at the CPU specs (MMX, etc).(?) Often a soft reboot will restart, occasionally a hard reboot is needed. NOt precisely the way I want to exit the BIOS!Difficulty in navigating the BIOS menu, I don't really care for the AMI BIOS in common. I have not been successful in my attempts to unlock my Sargas 140, I only mention this mainly because the board utilizes the ancient CMOS jumper to reset BIOS and you have to reset every little thing just about every time. Most of the boards I've used in the last 3 years have the capability to restore BIOS settings following a failed post. For a new board, this is disappointing. There may possibly be a workaround involving a USB drive, but it should be formatted making use of fat or fat32. ugh It seems probably that if you employ 1066Mhz memory the board will default to 800Mhz speed. I struggled for some time with adjusting the speed, I was finally in a position to do so by setting the FSB/Dram ratio to 1Ɇ.66. Not the way most AMD boards do it but ok.Also the voltages ARE adjustable in BIOS. They don't seem to be so simply because they are grayed out, but if you scroll down to them you can use the +/- to adjust. I set up WHS on the motherboard, but got BSOD's every time. I had to adjust the ram back to 800 speed and the install went as it should. Quirky but overall a good spending budget board, if you have a bit of encounter. I suggest this for sophisticated customers hunting for a deal on 785G. AMD Sargas 140this boardOCZ Reaper 1066 memTheramltake 430 W PSUWD Grren 500GB

It boots, it came on time. I have been a buyer of Newegg given that 2002 and they have been great to deal with. Front Side Bus Multiplier only goes up to 11X.The CPU that I bought is stock with an 11X multiplierThe board I am replacing is an Abit board that went to a 18X FSB multiplier. You can only step up the FSB by 20% by way of dip switch which is seriously lame. If you are looking for overclocking possible look else exactly where. I don't like overclocking through software . Go for a Gigabyte or Asus that has some possible for a decent overclock. 1st and final MSI product

Modest board with a lot of connections. It supports a great quite a few AMD chips (a veritable army of selections), and in my case it operates completely with my old Phenom X4 9600.Don't be discouraged by the onboard chip, it functions effectively and unless you're arranging on gaming it's fantastic. If you want to game there's a 16x PCI express slot readily available. The essential thing which tends to make this a pro is that it's best for small tight instances exactly where acquiring the added card with the added heat is not an solution. This is a near excellent board for HTPC setups.MSI tools are really excellent. They don't get enough praise but imo very easily outshine Asus.Operates completely with Linux. Only 2 memory slots.Onboard Graphics card could be far better I also decided to go straight linux with this box which I'm making use of for streaming audio and video to my property theater system and it operates like a charm. I was certain prior to I bought this that I'll want to upgrade to a committed gfx card but right after putting in Ubuntu ten.10 on it everything works like a charm at 1920x1080.

Built a program with this for a buyer, i have an ASUS 785 so i trust the AMD architecture. It's a good board. I got it in a genuinely very good combo deal, which is the only purpose i got it actually, i prefer at least 4-slots for RAM, whether or not the process is for me, household, or a customer. Aids future proof a little for upgrades.Onboard graphics is under no circumstances going to be the ideal, but ATI's have the greatest onboard I've observed as of late. Operates great on sims3 and Globe of Warcraft, at least; which is the a single game my client asked me to install for them. Regular tasks are about the very same, screen saver, youtube, HDmovies. If you use this board for gaming an addon Graphics Card would be much desired. Only came with 1-sata cable. I more sad about this than anything. I'm so employed to board coming with at least 2, i didn't bother to examine how a lot of it came with. I had to purchase an added and tag on four much more bucks to my clients original invoice i quoted to them, which isn't horrible, just bothers me. two sata cables is not so challenging to include things like.forgot to make a video review D: MSI AM3/AM2+/AM2 785Althon II x4 two.9Ghz AM32x2 DDR2 1066 Ram640G WD sata II HDLG Sata DVD burner

This board does specifically what I will need it to, and does it without having issue. All characteristics (that I've attempted so far) operate as they must. Plenty of headers for every thing, great placement of SATA connections, in case you have a lengthy GPU and the rear ports are adequate. Help for just about any AMD chip you can get is excellent. Installed Windows 7 RTM just fine employing a 3.0ghz AMD Regor 250 cpu and 4gbs of Gskill. I'll be able to upgrade the cpu simply. The color even matches almost everything else in my program, thought that's hardly a valid judging point. Just a bonus. You can use DDR2 ram, which is nevertheless a bit less expensive than DDR3, and you might have some from one more build lying around. That tends to make this a excellent backup/replacement board even though also affording you a decent upgrade path. Needs a couple much more fan headers, and at least two much more USB ports on the rear I/O panel to best it off. It would also be really good to see four Ram slots instead of just two, although if you're developing a program that's going to will need eight or much more g's of ram you'll be seeking at a larger finish MB. A 2nd SATA cable would be thoughtful, since you can't quickly install an OS onto a hdd in a new build with no both hooked up, but most of us have a spare lying around. These aren't major challenges, and the cpu assistance, along with the smooth set up/performance so far, is nicely worth a fiveǛ for me. In particular at this price tag!NOTE: If you're attempting to get into the bios, hold the "delete" essential when you see the MSI splashscreen on startup, following. The fan headers and usb ports are a fairly minor thing, but I gave it fiveǛ due to the fact it's a fantastic product and has just a pinch of wiggle room for any meaninful improvement. If they added these two products it would be a massive cherry on top rated. Thanks Newegg for acquiring it to me rapid, as usual. And thanks to MSI for making a decent item at a decent value! Would I get it once again? Hell yeah I would.

I know my know-how with computers is incredibly limited but I asked him to take a look at it and he had no luck either. I bought the adapter and it hasn't worked, even attempted a unique adapter. I will likely have to send it back. Disappointed, my initially expertise with Newegg.com and MSI in which each of these firms/producers have left me feeling like I wasted 踰 (just in parts of course) for a new pc that does not assistance 2 monitors (which was the most important purpose I even bought a new computer, so now it sits to the side. Cool overclocking attributes (not that they worked). Supposedly the greatest IGP out there (not that that worked, either). Also, Newegg's shipping was great, as constantly. Like you guys. Pleased New Year! Properly, let's see... For starters, I was not able to run my 1066MHz-rated RAM on this 1066MHz-rated mobo at 1066MHz. I had to run it at 800MHz. And yes, I Memtested. Secondly, overclocking did not operate properly. Even though the BIOS would see my CPU at 2.9GHz, any operating system I loaded would see it at the stock two.6GHz. That was sort of a bummer.Thirdly, the IGP is a discomfort. I had some critical complications with it while trying to run my RAM at the advertised 1066MHz speed. Blue screens, all more than. Furthermore, and most frustrating, is the reality that after using it for a handful of days, it fried my monitor more than a VGA cable. A VGA cable... that's ridiculous. Now my monitor does not function, nor does my motherboard. I'm certain I just got a defunct unit. That doesn't modify the fact that I now have 1 less monitor (which just occurred to be my principal display). I bought this mobo since of all of the other wonderful evaluations. DO NOT Less MY MISFORTUNE Transform YOUR Acquiring Decision. NO MATTER WHAT YOU Buy, YOU WILL Often RUN THE Danger OF Receiving A DEFUNCT UNIT.
