Appear, I comprehend when people today complain about reall troubles, but when nubees complain about clear concerns and place High understanding level - that makes me laugh. I'm putting this overview not to advocate for MSI, but to kick some brain-connected errors out of your sight. Trash review: I agree with Pros, but cons... "Wouldn't boot up with two sticks of ram" - really couple of will, and it's a normal procedure to cold boot mobo with 1 (!) RAM stick in DIMM 1. "Having problems with usb ports" - donno what OS or input devices he's operating, but sounds like driver problem, not a mobo failure. Just before RMA, check with customer help and check on a web. High understanding suggests you can deal with one thing tougher then plug-and-play setup, so don't say you are a pro, if you are not.Defective evaluation: nice looks? Ok.... "HD4200 graphics chip was totalled. VGA output was the only one to perform." - umm... I dont point so. Graphic chip is what makes that VGA output create any output, unless you have devoted video card. Consider again. "USB controller failed following a couple of hours" most most likely you haven't unabled USB in BIOS, and rebooted with USB keyboard just before OS set up. And BTW - there's no such thing as committed on-board USB controller, that can fail. In reality, drivers may have failed, but "controller" itself is integrated into the mobo, and as a aspect of such depends on mobo settings. In addition to, USB-to-PS2 connector resolves the situation on a spot. No excuse for low understanding, quit blaming manufacturer for your incompetence. Undesirable luck is the only important evaluation. Difective USB could be the situation, but you need to have to show homework ahead of you scream "defective", though the only defective part of your technique is you.

Impressed with MSI's specs and software package. This board has almost everything I will need. Use this M-ATX Pc for a portable unit for operate. All the default BIOS settings are functional and the no brainer computer software is excellent. Usually utilised Asus & Gigabyte boards in the previous and had some difficulties. Truly like MSI and they have a excellent website showing all the crucial info. Manual is straightforward to read too. None but. Great board all around.I favor a various chipset but hey it wasnt for me and its not being employed for heavy games or overclocking.IMHO even if u wanted to overclcok it def poss.one point i was suprised to see was the dial that lets u overclcok right on the board itself, extremely nifty, also i have a 790gx for my method and i dont use the onboard video but this msi board has much better onboard video than my board and its cheaper.runs fast no heat concerns what so ever but thats no suprise from msi.Swift boot times and effortless install.manual is really informative and would def be very good if u need to refer to it. none...properly not genuinely a con since it is a micro.only four usb ports.but hey u could usually get usb addons so thats no major deal. this board is a fantastic solution if ur searching for quality with a decent price.

Low cost boardDoes everything requiredInstalled effortlesslyDidn't burst into flames Hyper-threading sync error - not an isolated incident. Google this board / error and you'll get tons of hits on M S I boards possessing this dilemma. This one particular in unique appears to have this issue. -TERRIBLE REBATE SERVICE- I am already dealing with this board the way it is in my wifes computer. It still boots and runs with minimal complications, but one particular error like that is too many. I just got an e-mail back that "you did not involve proof of acquire date paperwork blah blah blah" that is bull <expletive deleted> . It is my fault for sending original receipt rather of a copy. I couldn't get a decent scan of it so I just sent the original. YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL Acquire RECEIPT!! I triple checked every little thing to make confident it was integrated. I build a new Computer on typical of the moment each and every one or two years...I will in no way purchase this brand yet again. The faulty board could possibly be a fluke, but the rebate denial is inexcusable and warrants me by no means providing my dollars to this organization once again. I will be sticking with the tried and accurate boards from now on from trustworthy corporations. A single of which will also be receiving money from me soon to replace the mistake that I made purchasing this board. I noticed some low critiques at the best of the pile so I'm here to tell you that I've been operating this for a few months and it's been particularly reliable. It has numerous capabilities for the enthusiast - unlocked my Athlon II X3 Rana into a Phenom II X4 B55 - and the BIOS was straightforward to function with. Not positive why other people are reporting complications with MSI; I've built about a dozen machines in the last four years with far more than 3ǚ becoming with MSI boards. By no means had a challenge. None. I like the MSI BIOS/driver update utility but I never load it onto a gaming machine; I don't like to crud up my gamers.

Following three weeks of pestering msi for an rma number...totally absolutely nothing. Intermittent shut downs began my rma wagon train that ends in...effectively....absolutely nothing. I'm stuck with it. MSI not only did you shed a buyer you developed a extremely vocal advocate for Asus. Some people don't have boatloads of income I'm in a wheelchair and on ssi. Good to know there's someone out there who will take my income.

Motherboard fired up correct away. Drivers worked fine. Onboard HDMI graphics even worked without having any tweaking. It makes use of inexpensive DDR2 memory. And accepts AM2/AM2+/AM3 processors. So its flexible and upgradable. You don't require a separate graphics card. It will manage 2 IDE devices. You don't come across out till immediately after you purchase it, but if you decide you want to truly use the substantially vaunted hybrid crossfire, the only operating system that supports it is Vista. They should inform the buyer of this in the specifications.SATA connectors are on the edge of the board. It is a microATX form factor. If you are placing it in a complete sized case you'll probably have area to get your hand down in there and connect your sata drives. In the cramped confines of a cube or other little case, you may well have difficulty. It only has two memory slots. If you run Vista, you almost certainly want 8GB of memory, that suggests you have to upgrade to 2x4GB memory sticks, which are really pricey. I purchased this board as an upgrade from an old slot A program. I wanted to retain some backwards compatibility with my older components and have space to upgrade in the future. I was also trying to keep expenses down, but I wanted a very good brand name. The biggest limitation imposed by this board is the two memory stick problem, which makes what could be a genuinely excellent board that is in high priced to upgrade, all of a sudden not worth the price tag. If you don't run Vista as your OS, why spend for a hybrid crossfire capability that you can't use? If you are spending the cash for a new create, you don't want the backwards compatibility with IDE and PCI. You can get a far better board for the very same price tag that will enable you to invest much less on memory if you want much more than four GB. Given its shortcomings, I'm only giving it three eggs. If they dropped the cost From ๖ down to about โ, I'd give it 4 eggs.

I build a lot of machines for friends and neighborhood company. The 1 big factor that I like about this board is the strong caps. It does have a few non-strong caps on it, but they are not genuinely in a high threat/temp location and could trigger an concern down the road. This board has every thing on it other than firewire which most of the individuals I build a pc for don't want so that is okay. I tend to bounce around with motherboards from MSI, to Asus, and occasionally gigabyte. Usually I go with MSI since of the excellent in the board. no firewire, but seriously not a large issue. These boards operate well with Adata memory. I have not tried any other brand as of however, but I do have some wintec memory coming, but I don't see any issues. I have not built quite a few gameing machines so I am not certain about the overclocking potential of this board or what it is capable of in games. It makes a very good operating workplace system for the specs.

price. 785G. lots of video out options. overclocking tools available. supports dual displays. none really. have these in five small business builds operating 32-bit windows 7 pro. it's been about a year. no complications so far. it's seriously great that you can run dual monitors. commonly i have to add a ~贄 graphics card if a person desires that. working with it in much more builds this year. considering that it's not a household or house theater machine i have not tested the overclocking features or the advanced audio capabilities.

Almost everything went in effectively, got all elements hooked up, booted suitable up. Installed OS and applications devoid of incident. This was for a relatively spending budget construct, so I did not try overclocking. So far so fantastic......except for a single problem(see Cons) Runs good, but motherboard temp sensor stubbornly reads high. Within minutes of booting, MB temp runs to C. Processor temp reads 33C, Phenom Core 1 16C, P/S 28C and HDD 30 C. Making use of an 18" table fan brings MB temp reading to 92C, processor down to 27C. Core 14C, P/S 23C and HDD 25C. Really most likely, it is a malfunctioning MB temp sensor, but I don't really feel comfy about giving the personal computer to a person else. I found out about the sensor reading really a while right after I bought the MB, due to the fact I didn't get about to installing it for a although, so RMA'ing was out of the question. Knocking off 1 star for this problem. This board is a excellent board. I had no troubles with doa or any failures and appears to overclock great. Only poor factor is I feel I have the wrong chipset?? I have to amd id9601?? not the 785 and the southbridge is ati 750 not 710???? A buddy purchased the similar board and unlocked his phenom ii x2b555. So i got the identical board and cpu and have issues and it looks like all the chips are diffrent. I like the 785 chipset normally - works fine right here. This is one particular of the 785's that supports DDR2 and two PSǘ external devices (the move toward only one PSǘ connection can be inconvenient. I like that there is a PCIx x1 slot - that gets dropped out on a number of boards. For those preparing on a high finish GPU, the front facing SATA ports can be a plus. Board layout is not all that good. The front panel headers are in a location exactly where you seriously need to connect things prior to installing the board. The front facing SATA ports mean it is much less difficult to cable ahead of installing the board. The manual is a bit much more obscure than other people (and sadly that's saying a lot as manual writing is an increasingly lost art). I'd choose an 8 pin ATX power connector and four memory slots, but this board is not intended for overclockers and high finish systems. The Overclock dipswitch for FSB Ɛ%, ზ%, მ%, რ%) is a bit of an odd strategy. I got this board as part of a combo from a neighborhood retailer that often does interesting pricing (in this case essentially the board was no cost with a competitively priced AMD 955).

the board will self adjust voltage to processor if you transform values on fsb. it's magic! it freaks out if i have my western digital externa difficult drive plugged into usb. hangs on boot untill i unplug and reboot. no probs then. weird. took my triple core phenom to 3. ghz and board automaticly upped the vcore by.1 volt. now my 710 runs stable and cool at three. ghz at 1.35 vcore.

Wonderful overclocking features which are simple to use. Works ideal with the AM3 CPU. MSI have completed it!!! I use an amd PII X4 925 2.8 overclocked to 3.. Temp stays under 27c Have to update the bios before to the lasted ahead of operating properly. Use an AMD AM2+ CPU to update the bios if not confident how to do prior to installation. Difficult to maintain a 125w cpu cool unless you acquire the new amd 100% copper heatsink. Use a cpu up to 95w max.

very good entry level board, great for standard computing and even moderate gaming( with an proper video card of course ) Put two computers together with these, one for me 1 for my brother. The one particular that had complications was the one particular for my brother which I had sent overseas(Scotland) Immediately after trying to troubleshoot his sync flood error troubles to no avail I had him bring it back when he visited. Soon after searching it more than I noticed that those clowns at MSI had set the two microswitches (used for overclocking) to complete overclock ྴ%) Switched them back to exactly where they really should have been set from the factory(no overclock) and every little thing has been fine ever due to the fact(about five months) Why do they even have microswitches for overclocking when you can do it by means of the bios? Hope this aids someone out there with the exact same challenge.

Feature wealthy, hdmi, 785g chipset, 710 southbridge. I gave it 5 eggs, but actually wanted to give it 4.5 I got it for ๋ shipped and for that price tag i consider it does its job nicely enough for a very good rating. Can\'t manually adjust chipset, memory, cpu voltages -- unless there is a way to unlock them. they are set to auto and greyed out. I ordered this motherboard with an amd 550 be with the hopes that it would unlock to a quad core. it unlocks but then wont boot into windows even with a low two.4ghz clock speed. This motherboard automatically bumps up the voltage with the FSB and you dont have the potential to manually set voltages in the bios unless im missing a thingI have my multiplier set to 16x and my fsb to 230 -- which isnt a bad overclock -- but i couldnt get the computer system to even boot at 240fsb with a lower multiplier. (to overclock my memory) even my ECS ic780 would do that...

Great searching board ,everything seems to be layed out genuine good, booted proper up for me working with vista residence prem 32bit,For now im making use of the onboard graphics and it actually functions fairly well, played WOW at 60FPS.I will be obtaining a card soon tho. when I tried to install the drivers that came with the board win would freeze up when using automobile run exe, So I identified the graphics driver on the CD and immediately after I installed it the automobile run worked fine. This board is working well for me im content with it, I was able to unlock all 4 cores in the bios on my Callisto 550 but wasnt able to boot up so ill just have to be content with dual core...reside update was uncomplicated.
