This is a great board for expense/features. MSI knocked it out of the park with this 1 in my opinion. Provided, Newegg's shipping and all around service rocks, I'd give 6 eggs if I could Only one particular sata cable, and the manual seriously lacked beneficial info. Seemed to be good value for a 6 Gb/sec SATA three board with tons of USB (and USB 3.) ports plus crossfire capability. Did not POST on power up.... Have to wait for another board from Newegg. Now I read the evaluations far more carefully and it appears clear that MSI have a undesirable QA plan for this line of boards. I sincerely hope that the replacement really performs, due to the fact I'm not seeking forward to a second DOA. |

Not had any complications. Lots of SATA/USB ports. Mounting it in the situation with the screen for the back of the case was very tricky for me. I couldn't get it afraid I would break anything forcing. But soon after a couple of tries a buddy of mine got it. I have been doing some investigation and would like to overlcock my program but I have never performed this just before. I have on the way a Phenom II x6 BE 1100 to replace a Phenom II x2 BE. Not actually positive how to go about this but apparently it is effortless with the BE and this specific mother board. |

Auto OC genie took my Phenom II 560 to mid-4ghz and passed Prime95 ten hour test. I only ran Prime95 due to the fact I was shocked to see the high OC and see if it was stable. It seemed to run fine with the exception of the problems listed beneath. The bios wasn't stable. The only way to get into the bios was to clear the cmos and you would get a single shot at setting almost everything. Following that when you hit delete it would post and say "entering setup" and not do something. It wouldn't even show the flash screen with the MSI logo following you saved your updated bios settings. I attempted each and every bios that supported my CPU and they all did the similar thing. It did this regardless of whether I had 2 or four cores enabled, and the majority of the time I only the had two stock cores enabled.Would unlock my 560's dormant cores but would not post if it was OC'd even .1ghz. A biostar ta785g3 & asus m4a87td/usb3 had no matters unlocking & OC'ing the CPU. The biostar board ran the CPU w/ four cores @ three.6ghz due to the fact last Oct without a single dilemma. The ASUS has been stable @ 3.8ghz for about a week. I've ordered a lot of MSI goods due to the fact 2003 and this was the initially to let me down.I purchased this mobo from a nearby retailer due to time constraints. This is the second poor purchase from that verysmall-middle(MC) retailer , and I'm starting to believe that the much less men and women that touch it...the superior. I've learned to order from newegg when I don't have to have the item instantly. This motherboard looks good, blue + black is a great color combo. Dual PCI-E two. x16 slots for a bargain price tag is nice. Lots of SATA connectors, supports 6GB/Sec SATA. Has lots of Overclocking features both automatically and manually via BIOS. 4 DIMM slots. "Military Class" components, means it ought to be strong sufficient to stand the test of time and Overclocking. I have an AMD Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition. With this board I've succesfully unlocked it to what is now shown as an "AMD Phenom II X4 B60 Black Edition". The stock speed was currently fast - three.3Ghz, I've overclocked it to a stable 3.9Ghz. Every person desires 4Ghz, I'm cool with three.9 as lengthy as it's stable, and so far it seems to be just that. CPU Vcore is 1.484. I've turned the HT Link down to 2000Mz, a common factor in a lot of Overclocking instances is that if you reduce the HT Link, the Overclock is much more stabilized. Many people today do not know this.I can confirm that this motherboard will indeed run 1600Mhz RAM. The key con is that the 2nd PCI-E two. x16 slot runs at x4, which some insist will lower graphics overall performance. According to a British overview I not too long ago read, nevertheless, two committed ATI cards will run at 8x per card as opposed to the believed x16, x4 configuration. Also according to others, the heatsink isn't great adequate. Also, the moment once again according to other people, this motherboard is really unstable. There are several folks who don't really know what they are performing and do not do sufficient study just before attempting factors. Some overclock without having appropriate know-how and Everyone wants to shoot for Ř.0GHZ" with their Phenoms. Is there significantly difference amongst 3.9ghz and four.0ghz? No, maybe between a 1999 Pentium 1 with 100mhz and a Pentium II at 200mhz you will see a major difference, but not when the speeds are as high as they are now. 200mhz and additional, yes, the difference will be there. But why beat your self to death attempting a four.0ghz OC that is unstable when you can obtain 3.9 stable? Folks need to have to recognize when you turn some thing up, one thing else requirements to go down. There are people who have their HT Link speed at 2600mhz trying to get 4.0ghz and they wonder why the **** is unstable. Huh. I have received quite a few "warnings" for running this board. People today insist that it's negative, but I consider most of the "bad" is due to user-error. Last word, don't push too hard with X6 Phenoms. |

Looks nice, excellent specs Incredibly unstable I originally bought this mb back in October when building my Pc and almost everything worked fine until a couple months down the road the Laptop will energy on but randomly cut off by way of it's Boot-up method. Happend numerous times. I flashed the BIOS and everything began operating as typical. I decided to create a different laptop or computer with the exact same Board, MISTAKE!!!!! I received the mb, constructed the laptop or computer, and the da** thing would not post. I sent this back with the CPU just in case but after reading all these evaluations I am 99% specific it's the MB. I give it two eggs just because the initially one is working ok, on the other hand it was unstable at times, and now a bad motherboard this time, and have to spend shipping, steer clear of this mobo. CPU, ram, all the cables fit in nicely. Not flimsy at all. Booted correct up without having a dilemma. BIOS program is quite user-friendly. OC'ing, while I have not, is particularly created simple to do. Defaulted my Kingston RAM to 1333, while it's just the work of a second to amp it up to 1600. And you'll be needing to access the Bios anyway, so no biggie. |

The item doesn't work. Right after reading testimonials from the last two weeks on this item, it seems that much more people have been returning the item rather than maintaining it. It looks awesome. Military Class doesn't mean it is going to operate. I have been creating computers professionally for more than 15 years, and have generally been a die challenging Asus buyer. When I initial saw MSI's "Military Class" boards, I knew I had to attempt them out. I originally bought this board back in July of 2010, it worked for a month ahead of it quit posting. I sent it back to MSI, and soon after 3 WEEKS, they sent the Exact very same board back to me (not a replacement). This time, it worked for just over two months. Once again, I RMA the board, and once more, I waited 3 weeks (That was in October ཆ). It's now March 2011, and I'm sending in the board for the 3rd time, with the Exact very same problem. For some purpose, MSI refuses to replace my board with a NEW 1, and can not offer you a decent explanation why. That's just undesirable small business. I'm not going to wait three weeks for this board to come back once more, as I am shopping for an additional Asus board tonight. When the Same MSI board comes back, it's going the shooting range with me to get a 21 gun salute, and a right "Military" funeral. Works properly, minimal difficulties if I wanted to overclock,Would have offered five if I didn't have some issues For some cause the usb ports exceeded the max energy limit for the ports? According to Windows at least that's the concern. When I'm playing pc games my keyboard and mouse(both usb) disconnect and reconnect. no problems with the front usb hub I have connected to it doesn't have these concerns so it must be the motherboard from some explanation. If it didn't have the USB issues would have given it a 5. No concept how to repair it. Tried telling windows not to disable them via the device manager, but no such luck. Nice functions for a total sized board in this price range. I wanted a board for a price range create with space for future upgrades. Booted very first time with all accessories installed and loaded Win7 devoid of a hitch. Has been running continuously for more than 6 months. None so far. I have employed MSI motherboards and video cards for several years. Two other computers in the residence have been running continously for over five years. I was at initially concerned that with the 870 chipset and the second PCI-e slot running at 4x would hinder overall performance if I upgraded to a Crossfire configuration. Soon after studying various articles comparing overall performance with a variety of PCI-e lane configurations it would seem any overall performance hit from obtaining second card at X4 as an alternative of X8 would be practically insignificant with anything brief of a pair of 6970's. Two high end cards will additional likely be installed in a greater end board to begin with. |

Worked out of the box with difficulties. Easy set up in an Antec 902 case with a phenom II x4 965 AMD cpu. Was a shell shocker deal in combo with the processor, right after rebate (which I not too long ago got back) I only paid about ำ for the board with cost-free shipping. Overclocking is enjoyable to play around with if you're cautious. USB 3.. SATA 6gbs. Board has been solid for four months now. Blue LEDS matched the ones from my situation and energy provide for that great healthy glow. I'm hesitant to push this board too much due to some of the undesirable critiques and not wanting to test my luck, so some of the overclocking potential has been lost. Crossfire might be a dilemma for some with the 16xǚx situation, but I only run a single GPU so its not an situation for me. I read some of the poor critiques where numerous were writing about undesirable boards but took a gamble because of the price tag. I'm glad I did. Its not the greatest board on the planet, but it was perfect for a spending budget gaming Computer. I've had no difficulty with the bios, voltages, or instability some people today have reported, but I've kept items largely stock except to do some minor overclocking to cpu and gpu. Very same person from the USB Issue. It was a driver conflict with the ATI Graphics cards. Uninstall-ed and reinstalled newer version and no problems at all.The drivers that came with the cards seemed to have conflicted with the motherboard drivers. When I uninstalled almost everything from ATI to do a clean reboot, some USB manage drivers were removed. These should have been in conflict with the MSI drivers. Nothing. Just be confident about what you're other devices are installing! Great Motherboard now that I fixed the USB situation |

Installed quickly, held up to the stubborn heatsink I had to force onto the processor (I thought I was going to break the board but it held fast!) Couldn't get the backplate to line up exactly right. This isn't that large of a deal, but I think when mine was cut they may well have messed it up. Only difficulty right here is I had to bend a piece of the metal on the backplate away from my ethernet port. Other than my mild difficulty with the backplate, this has been a terrific board. I haven't messed with the built-in OC functions. I seriously don't really feel like taking the board back out just for a backplate concern which is hardly noticeable. Great board, bargain price! |

Low-cost, stable, has all the characteristics I need to have for a midrange/performance machine. Manual overclocking options are there in the BIOS, but aren't explained well. The memory I bought essential 1.65 v in order to carry out at the timings advertised, but this motherboard wouldn't let me select that as a voltage. It allowed for a different voltage that was slightly higher and that seemed to perform fine. Some memory clocks are settable and other individuals aren't for some unexplained cause, and the BIOS settings have terminology that doesn't seem to be commonly used in overclocking forums. When I figured every little thing out though, the machine has been running good and stable. I'm operating a Thuban x6 1075T w/ 12 GB 1333. I was simply able to get a 8% overclock when just using two sticks of great RAM, but I've had to drop back down to stock speeds with four sticks. I hear this is typical although - almost certainly not an concern with the mobo. |

Spacious board, uncomplicated to install every little thing on it, capable of OC'ing with a switch on it. A tab(?) on a PCI-e slot broke off, but that's nothing at all. It nonetheless functions completely.
