Excellent price for capability. Don't think that you can put 4 memory sticks in and overclock to 1600. It will not function. I have contacted MSI they told me to get with memmory manufacture for right timmings. Contacted ADATA they sent a chart and showed only two sticks of memory for this board at 1600 will work. I have employed bios ver. 17.1 up to 17.9 and none of them function for 1600 on all 4 slots. No difficulties with just two slots. How about displaying detailed specs. I have gone via the manual and on the net and did not see anywhere displaying only 2 memory slots getting employed for 1600 capable OC.AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb three.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ955FBGMBOXADATA XPG DDR3 1600 4x2gig. Bought as an open-box item from Newegg for a price range re-build, but even at complete cost this MB offers excellent worth for funds. 1. The web site & manual are lacking simple info.2. I've had to dig out a PSǘ keyboard whenever I want to tweak the BIOS. I've tried fixing this in the BIOS, but see point 1.3. The positioning of the SATA connectors created adding disk drives to the method far more of a chore than it must have been. i.e. Good for cable management, terrible for on the fly additions. Honestly, I'm just not in appreciate with the board or the brand, and I really feel that if I'd shopped about a bit longer I could have made a far better acquire.

Usual MSI excellent presentation. eight usb two plus 2x usb 3Easy peasy Bios and flash updates. Lots of graphics ports. Feels uncomplicated and strong and the CPU runs at 30c (phenom2). I reckon the separate graphics card requires weight off the CPU plus my cautious installation ! 1 ps2 port ? I imply come on ! I have a KVM switch with ps2 ends so I had to use a ps2 to usb converter harness for mouse/keyboard. Xp doesn't often see them straight off even if the BIOS does. A single ps two port jeez ! Only one particular egg deducted as it functions most instances got a usb 3 converter for my a single month old seagate ext - overlook ten times speed - a lot more like three max. Not impressed with usb3 so far. Anyway it isnt DOA its really steady - and that's following four hours !

Good cost to characteristics ratio Died immediately after 6 monthsUnrelated but flimsy PCI-E latch that snapped offAttempting to RMA with manufacturer. They have been incredibly slow. It has been over a week given that they have received it and it is nevertheless processing. I'm not sure I would acquire another MSI board due to their slow consumer service. It is price me ฝ to ship them the board and ฟ to get it back (due to unrelated physical damage)

The board installs like any other board. Plug and play. Not as well considerably drivers needed to set up other than the USB three. ports (blazing rapidly btw). Board's colour and style is gorgeous. three vital cables incorporated. The Sata ports gave me a Huh when I initial looked at it. Two at straight angle, and four at 90 degree angles. I was like interesting..... why not just put all at the very same angle..Anyhow I ran into a difficulty that my hard disk or optical drive, they would only be recognized by windows when in sata port 1-4 only. If I plug anything on port 5 and six, yes the board sees it in the course of POST message, but I could not get it to show up in windows which sucks Nevertheless gotta perform on the English manual translation, the grammar and misspelled words in there is just a disaster. It looks cool. It's broken, a thing is messed up with the video. I have attempted many cards with the very same benefits. Artifacts on the screen with frequent show driver crashes. And that's just at the windows 7 desktop (classic view). I got an RMA from Newegg but I am really disappointed at the length of time it will take to total the RMA procedure. I really should have listed to the other critiques, but I thought MSI was very good stuff. I positive hope the replacement board works better than this one. Auto-overclock is nothing shot of horrifying, I don't know how it functions as well as it does, (or how it performs at all with the wrong type of ram) but I got my 1055T six-core up to four.7GHz! It's stable at four.5GHz....I don't know what MSI is undertaking, but they're good at it. I've got plans to develop a modest cluster of machines, I'm basing them on this motherboard.Fun Truth: my method can boot openSuse in under 7 seconds. Linux Mint boots so rapid it in fact comes up before the screen is performed powering up. The bios updates made it act a little weird, but I just rolled back to an older version and it was fine. I'm pondering it's since I have the incorrect sort of ram. When I go to get Graphics cards or motherboards, I go to MSI 1st. They might not be as legendary as Asus, or clinically insane as Gigabyte, but their item is packed with high-top quality components, it's trusted, and doesn't have a bunch of junk I don't want.

I RMA'd it and got a replacement only to have the very same precise challenge. 2 mobos, 2 fails, days of gaming lost. I'm not satisfied. Appreciate the native USB three. assistance, overclocking capability is phenomenal. No Firewire but hey you can't have every little thing. For some explanation MB does not read the CPU fan, even even though it is running. Sounds an annoying alarm each time I run control center. I have been developing my own systems for the past ten years or so. I'm normally not an overclocker and in my limited practical experience I've discovered "automatic" OC modes buggy. Not so this board. One click and my 2.8GHz 1055T X6 is humming along at three.33GHz and 32 degrees - with the stock fan.

rapidly-easy install-low price-lots of functions! had to spend tax since I live in tennessee :( Saw a lot of brutal evaluations on this board but I decided to attempt it any way. My final 3 or four boards have been ASUS and I can say this was A lot simpler to get up and running and a lot less gremlins and ghost to operate out upon initial set-up.

Straightforward assembly, SATA connectors properly positioned. OC's stable on my Phenom 1090T processor to 4ghz. Slighly annoyed that the SATA defauled to IDE mode when I flashed the BIOS causing my RAID array to fail. Took about 8 hours to rebuild the array. Also I can not look to get the OC genie to function, but not that massive of a deal to manually set anything up.

Seemed to be good value for a 6 Gb/sec SATA three board with tons of USB (and USB 3.) ports plus crossfire capability. Did not POST on power up.... Have to wait for another board from Newegg. Now I read the evaluations far more carefully and it appears clear that MSI have a undesirable QA plan for this line of boards. I sincerely hope that the replacement really performs, due to the fact I'm not seeking forward to a second DOA.

Not had any complications. Lots of SATA/USB ports. Mounting it in the situation with the screen for the back of the case was very tricky for me. I couldn't get it afraid I would break anything forcing. But soon after a couple of tries a buddy of mine got it. I have been doing some investigation and would like to overlcock my program but I have never performed this just before. I have on the way a Phenom II x6 BE 1100 to replace a Phenom II x2 BE. Not actually positive how to go about this but apparently it is effortless with the BE and this specific mother board.

Auto OC genie took my Phenom II 560 to mid-4ghz and passed Prime95 ten hour test. I only ran Prime95 due to the fact I was shocked to see the high OC and see if it was stable. It seemed to run fine with the exception of the problems listed beneath. The bios wasn't stable. The only way to get into the bios was to clear the cmos and you would get a single shot at setting almost everything. Following that when you hit delete it would post and say "entering setup" and not do something. It wouldn't even show the flash screen with the MSI logo following you saved your updated bios settings. I attempted each and every bios that supported my CPU and they all did the similar thing. It did this regardless of whether I had 2 or four cores enabled, and the majority of the time I only the had two stock cores enabled.Would unlock my 560's dormant cores but would not post if it was OC'd even .1ghz. A biostar ta785g3 & asus m4a87td/usb3 had no matters unlocking & OC'ing the CPU. The biostar board ran the CPU w/ four cores @ three.6ghz due to the fact last Oct without a single dilemma. The ASUS has been stable @ 3.8ghz for about a week. I've ordered a lot of MSI goods due to the fact 2003 and this was the initially to let me down.I purchased this mobo from a nearby retailer due to time constraints. This is the second poor purchase from that verysmall-middle(MC) retailer , and I'm starting to believe that the much less men and women that touch it...the superior. I've learned to order from newegg when I don't have to have the item instantly. This motherboard looks good, blue + black is a great color combo. Dual PCI-E two. x16 slots for a bargain price tag is nice. Lots of SATA connectors, supports 6GB/Sec SATA. Has lots of Overclocking features both automatically and manually via BIOS. 4 DIMM slots. "Military Class" components, means it ought to be strong sufficient to stand the test of time and Overclocking. I have an AMD Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition. With this board I've succesfully unlocked it to what is now shown as an "AMD Phenom II X4 B60 Black Edition". The stock speed was currently fast - three.3Ghz, I've overclocked it to a stable 3.9Ghz. Every person desires 4Ghz, I'm cool with three.9 as lengthy as it's stable, and so far it seems to be just that. CPU Vcore is 1.484. I've turned the HT Link down to 2000Mz, a common factor in a lot of Overclocking instances is that if you reduce the HT Link, the Overclock is much more stabilized. Many people today do not know this.I can confirm that this motherboard will indeed run 1600Mhz RAM. The key con is that the 2nd PCI-E two. x16 slot runs at x4, which some insist will lower graphics overall performance. According to a British overview I not too long ago read, nevertheless, two committed ATI cards will run at 8x per card as opposed to the believed x16, x4 configuration. Also according to others, the heatsink isn't great adequate. Also, the moment once again according to other people, this motherboard is really unstable. There are several folks who don't really know what they are performing and do not do sufficient study just before attempting factors. Some overclock without having appropriate know-how and Everyone wants to shoot for Ř.0GHZ" with their Phenoms. Is there significantly difference amongst 3.9ghz and four.0ghz? No, maybe between a 1999 Pentium 1 with 100mhz and a Pentium II at 200mhz you will see a major difference, but not when the speeds are as high as they are now. 200mhz and additional, yes, the difference will be there. But why beat your self to death attempting a four.0ghz OC that is unstable when you can obtain 3.9 stable? Folks need to have to recognize when you turn some thing up, one thing else requirements to go down. There are people who have their HT Link speed at 2600mhz trying to get 4.0ghz and they wonder why the **** is unstable. Huh. I have received quite a few "warnings" for running this board. People today insist that it's negative, but I consider most of the "bad" is due to user-error. Last word, don't push too hard with X6 Phenoms.

CPU, ram, all the cables fit in nicely. Not flimsy at all. Booted correct up without having a dilemma. BIOS program is quite user-friendly. OC'ing, while I have not, is particularly created simple to do. Defaulted my Kingston RAM to 1333, while it's just the work of a second to amp it up to 1600. And you'll be needing to access the Bios anyway, so no biggie.
