MSI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) N460GTX Hawk Video Card
Comment:
Excellent video card out of the box - superb cooling, quiet fans that seldom spin up past 50-60%, high quality parts on the pcb, Afterburner oc tool. Currently oc'd mine to 850񳋸 stable just to see if it could do it, but there isn't any require to go additional when operating 1680x1050. Brilliant card to say the least, particularly when purchased on sale a month or so ago Now that the GTX 560ti is out it's hard to fork out 赨 for this and not make the โ jump to the 560 for 20-30% efficiency gains. The price tag actually requirements to drop to 赓 for this to stay a viable alternative. Wonderful card that can run something thrown at it, just became outdated with the 560ti launch and desires to have a value drop to remain an option for most, as everyone in their proper mind would by a factory oc'd gtx560ti for 趙

1. Was 贿.99 right after refund/rebatetwo. Really cool ྐྵC idle and 55C loadƝ. Overclocks like a beast - at present operating at 950񳍜񳒈 at 1.087vfour. Around 210 watts max board energy at stock clocks5. Looks Attractive6. Good overall performance - Enthusiast settings in Crysis: Warhead with 4x AA at 1600 x 900 res 1. Newegg dropped the cost a couple of days soon after I purchased it, but it had the Iron Egg guarantee =Ɯ. May possibly or may possibly not have VRM cooling, but that's fine for nowthree. Price is pretty volatile for some cause (was gonna get a second one particular) PLEASE NOTE: MSI doesn't guarantee 1GHZ! The box only says that a card from series was the Very first to achieve 1Ghz below air cooling. All in all, I'm really happy I bought this card. This was my initial "mainstream" GPU, and so far its working wonders.

1. 贿.99 was a excellent price tag assuming the rebate comes through. 2. Runs reasonably quiet soon after you tweak the fan profile in the MSI Afterburner. I don't have the fan ramp up past 40% till 85 C, a temperature which it in no way reaches even in Furmark when overclocked to 810񳉄񳎎 MHz like the Talon Attack.three. That brings me to the temperature. Stock voltage overclock to Talon Attack specs operating Furmark at 1920x1200, xtreme burning mode, displacement mapping, post FX, and 32x AA, this card hovers about 80C even following 6 hours. Mind you, this is at 40% fan speed and no game stresses a GPU like furmark. Also, it gets avg. 30 fps at those settings. 1. PCIe power plugs on end of card might interfere with HDD in smaller situations. two. Not confident if its feasible to turn off the red power phase LEDs on the card but I uncover it annoying.three. The card is a little noisier then I would like. The lowest fan setting is 40% and Afterburner tells me it runs at rpm which is more than double the speed of the rest of the fans in my system Too negative I didn't recieve the Talon Attack spec card though it may well have been a waste simply because I don't have substantially interest in exploring the max overclock.

Fantastic card- high frame rates, fantastic support for NVIDIA technologiesRuns coolLooks pretty excellentNot horribly spendyMafia II/Just Result in 2 are fun games, and for free of charge, even superior :) Ok- the driver install was a PITA. Live Update five appears to have a (NO) thoughts of its own. Took a few tries for the driver and software to install in Windows 7. May well be a bit substantial- had to move my HDD to a distinct slot to fit the card.Red LED on the card kinda ruins my all-blue look, but that's no biggie Make sure you have space for this card. I'm running a Raidmax Tornado ATX mid-tower case and an ASROCK P67 LGA3 MB, and this sucker took up a lot of actual estate on the board, and in the case. I know this is how the new cards run, but it's rather annoying, and to a newb, this is a thing to recognize.

*Excellent cooling at 27C idle*Noticeably quieter than a various brand EE model*Well constructed, solid, fanhousing is metal not plastic*Nicely packaged in a foam insert and connectors have covers on them.*Great value with rebate and two games None Upgrade from a 260 GTX 216 which is a incredibly quiet card. Although the two fans here do get a bit louder it's quite close. I was going to wait for the 560 but couldn't resist.Averaging 56 fps in BFBC2, vsync on, high, 8 csaa, 19 x 12

Awesome Card. Runs silent, even at high fan settings. Runs cool, even overclocked heavily. No stability Concerns. I prefer the additional power plugs to not face towards the common location of the tough drives. This limits space and cord management flexibility. This card is well shorter than my earlier GTX 295OC although, so it is not as considerably of a difficulty. The GTX285 also had the top mounted plugs, or it would not have even fit in my case.

Operating 2 N460GTX Hawk(s) in SLI i7 920 Asus P6X58D Premium750 Watt Coolermaster Power Supply Was somewhat concerned about the tight spacing on the Asus Mobo - but cards have (some) clearance - and upper card fans function perfectly to maintain the card in the 50 C range under load. (Had a prior pair of other GTX 460 cards - and the fan controls had been just not tuned nicely - upper card would run up to 30 C hotter and fans wouldn't adjust - on the net auction site'd them and began more than ) Cards are quiet - and the cooler style is excellent. Note - these cards are larger than reference 460's (by about 1.75" ) so if length is an problem - measure twice... size does matter. Power doesn't seem to be an concern - heat confident isn't. Nvidia has nailed SLI this time around. Red activity diodes on the back of the cards are fascinating to see. I'm playing anything maxed - Just Trigger 2 looks brilliant with these Warranty is NOT lifetime. The testing ports are a gimmick - I'm not going to meter my cards to see what levels they are operating... Cards are pretty big - but unsupported so they have a bit of flex to them. Almost certainly could benefit from a top plate to support the weight of the card. (thinking back to the old 8800's and current 4870's with the aluminum top rail frame which seriously made for a secure card) I was really hesitant to acquire MSI brand - have been a lengthy time user of other brands (with lifetime warranty) - but the truth that MSI has been on the reviews with responses and offering up their emails to assist users with issues- that provides me a lot of peace of mind. So a lot that I bought 2 of them from Newegg... Truly adore the dual fan Frozr style.

Quicker then my Radeon HD 4830 Crossfire setup that this 1 card replaced. It's not any longer then those. Got it on sale! I haven't owned an MSI card given that the Geforce four TI 4200. I never had a problem with that either. Getting an problem with "MSI" rebate web site. Can't get my apartment number added. Other then that, I have absolutely nothing else to report. Got the card on 12ቸ񳏊. Working with 260.99 Drivers. Running Windows 7 64-Bit. Intel e8400 @ 4.1 Ghz, 4 GB DDR2 OCZ Reaper RAM, Asrock P45XE mobo, and Corsair 650 Watt Single Rail PSU. Note... those that dont know, this card requirements 24 Amps on the 12 volt line. That is on the back of the box. Newegg doesnt list that info here. I play WoW, Mass Impact two, NFS: Shift and ran 3dMark Vantage and I have not had a single crash of any type with this card installed.

Run's cooler than my 8800gt.Gorgeous to appear at.Voltage checks. Not that impressive of a efficiency raise coming from an 8800gt512mb g92, 1920x1080.These chips aren't binned from what I've noticed at all, I can't hardly get to 830 stable at stock voltage. No ram or VRM heat sinks.PLL voltage does Nothing to aid with overclocking at all. Go with the Asus Leading edition 460(They overclock much superior) or a newer 560 if you can swing it (great efficiency enhance).

Runs great, most games at max settings. Simple overclocking via Afterburner software, even so that is the second MSI card that i had to go to the website to download it from since it doesnt perform from the disk. somewhat of a hot smell for the initial couple of hours even though it was hot ㅪ-55C, i dont think that is normal but appears to have gone away now. had it OC'd stable- Core- 865Mhz, Shader- 1726, Memory- 2000, @ stock voltage but havent truly noticed a distinction in games among stock and OC.

This card is quieter, quicker than my old 8800GT, and I have had no troubles playing new or old games at the factory overclocked speed. MSI Afterburner makes it easy to tweak the speed and it in no way gets above 38C in my Antec 900. I also grabbed it at a wonderful cost and there was a rebate to boot. Have to wait up to 12 weeks for the rebate and there is totally no space for error on the paperwork. But, that's pretty widespread for tech rebates, and ought to in no way reflect on the card. Replaced my 8800GT considering that I feel the 460GTX is the next "sweet spot" for gamers that the 8800GT formerly was.My rig;Intel Core i5 - 750 (OC to three.2GhzƢG Corsair XMS3 DDR3 (running at 1600)Asus P7P55D moboCorsair 650w PS

Card can just about max each game at 1080p and remain above a minimum of 60fps. Metro 2033 I had to lower some settings to maintain it above 60fps. Rift drops to 30fps when a bunch of people are operating rifts otherwise it stays 60plus as well. Have had the card a bit more than three months. None. Purchased the card for 赀 right after rebate. The rebate took 3 months and a couple days to get here but it did arrive. So don't anticipate a fast turn about but it will arrive. Program on obtaining yet another one to sli so I can future proof my rig somewhat. My Setup:Processor: i5 760 @ 3.3Ghz (can hit 3.8 but no reason to at the moment.)Ram: 8 Gigs Gskill 1600mhzGraphics Card: Gtx 460 HawkMotherboard: MSI P55-GD65

Stock voltage, 925MHZ GPU, 1850MHz shader, 1872x2MHz GDDR. definite potential on this thing. (results may possibly differ) but my result is Excellent, can't wait to see how high I get it when playing with voltages! Existing cost has jumped to 趚, I got it for...... well..... allot much less. At the present cost (趚) go for a GTX570, but if you find it lower, this is the ideal 460 I have noticed, even copared to other GTX460 HAWK's that others use (so I can't aid but push it)

This card is a rockstar as soon as you get it install the MSI afterburner utility and go from 780mhz to 1k on air without making changes to voltage! runs Entropia Universe "CE2" really well with physx settings pinned, most video settings on High and a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080. E6750, ddr2800 2x2gb, I will buy another one once I upgrade my mobo to something SLI. Unless its DOA you will be more then happy with this video card, it will even kiss you on the forehead and tuck you in at night.

MSI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) N460GTX Hawk Video Card
Cons:- Triple overvoltage gimmick (to me anyway)- Crash if run gpu intensive program (display driver error)- Crysis 2(R) will crash at high setting, D11, high texture enable. (increase voltage through MSI Afterburner(TM) or decrease core clock or both or turn down game setting to play)

Pros:- Low temp- LED indicate gpu load (if you have a clear case)
Comment:
Not a big gamer as do not have the time to play. Wanted something cooler than the current EVGA 8800GT (idle at 50+ *C). This card is perfect for what I need. Not over the top performance nor price and not bad for casual gaming. Idling below 30*C with one side of the case remove. One thing I like to point out about ALL these "factory OC" video cards. I don't know how they test these cards, passed them, to consumer like you and me but if you run something like Crysis 2 at D11 with high texture enable. The card will certain crash within second if mouse look around the scene. This does not mean the card is bad because not all game(s) is as resource demand as Crysis 2(R) at highest setting at the default core clock and voltage. In this case voltage need to be increase using MSI Afterburner(TM) software or something similar. If turn down the game setting doesn't crash the game then save your time and money NOT RMA (you may end up with an lesser quality** card). Increase voltage if the game crash, reset to default when done. Decrease core clock without increase voltage works too. Or both, decrease core clock and increase voltage. At this point, I would exchange the card, if not I would not EVER buy another MSI product again (RMA at your own risk if warranty valid). Little inconvenience but eh.... If you feel the increased voltage is safe for your card or find a setting that work without artifacts and like to keep the setting permanent without software assist. Go to MSI forum and request special bios update  for your specific card.** By means of being used (dust in heatsink), missing stickers, wrong clock speed, scratched up, different heat sink, inferior, worse, look a lot like the exact same card your buddy's had you helped RMA couple months ago, etc.IF $40 + $40 + $40 = $120 then {$buy another card, live and learn] elseif {$Keep spend your money until you learn or chose to learn}END IF.
