N/A till new mobo N/A until new mobo I'm writing this not as a critique of the card but additional as a warning to other people.I had purchased this card considering that I could upgrade the integrated graphics for inexpensive. Nevertheless, upon installing this card, my computer system would not POST. Removal of said card would outcome in the pc working again. I had thought that the card might be DOA but just before spending the cash on return shipping and losing the rebate financial savings, I decided to do some a lot more investigation. Apparently, this card will not operate with older ASUS motherboards that have the Nvidia chipset. Not really certain who's at fault right here, ASUS or MSI, so I can only give an typical rating until a new motherboard is bought.

Inepensive, fanless (no noise) simple installation, HDMI output. Its not for gaming I have applied this series on various HTPC builds and it has yet to fail me. The cost along with the reliability and HDMI output make this a good budget card for an HTPC.

The card was low-cost. It fit in offered slot no challenge. Solved the issue my computer was having (the OS was freezing constantly due to an current failing video card.) Only had it a week so can't inform you At the advice of other reviewers, I didn't install the total software program package from the driver zip file I downloaded from the MSI internet site. All I installed had been the actual drivers.

Built in HDMI portGreat price Massive heat sink - you will not be making use of the slot to the left of this card.No provision for using the analog VGA port with the low profile bracket - you could almost certainly rig one thing with a blank slot cover if you required it. As indicated there is a slot next to the video card that won't have something in it. I suppose that variety of additional isn't included at this price point. Download the most current driver when you install the card. The disk is useless, and what windows finds isn't substantially superior.Rebate process is especially time consuming.

Great Utility Software 100% Silent Cool Operation Decent Graphics No Fan( I propped an 80mm fan against the heatsink and saw temps. drop about ten degrees.) I purchased this card @ a regional retailer, for ๅ+tax. I see now I should have purchased this Item from Newegg. I adore Afterburner! Affordable, no noise, HDMI output 2D performance for Windows 7 Aero is lacking. I purchased this for the office laptop or computer and wasn't in a position to come across the minimal power provide requirement. turns out that it is suggested to have 300 watt min but our dell only has 225 watts. it seems okay so far Ƒ week). Wish I can get a low cost card like this with 2 DVI outputs.

I purchased it on sale with a rebate for ฟ so I couldn't pass it up. I bought a gigabyte 4550 at the very same time but the MSI runs much better on my process due to the fact it has a total 512 MB. The Gigabyte 4550 came with 128 MB DDR 3 but it gets the rest of its memory from the base memory. The gigabyte has much better numbers on the 3D benchmark 390 FPS vs. 300 fps but the impact on the all round technique isn't worth it so that’s why the MSI card works far better. Runs really hot! 73 degrees Celsius and I didn't even more than clock the chip. Long term I worried if the heat will harm my motherboard so I don't know what's subsequent. PS the MSI afterburner computer software worked with the 4550 The chipset on the gigabyte card but I'm not into over clocking. It permitted me to see that the chip idles at 50 degrees Celsius and ramps up to 59 degrees Celsius. The difference is that the fan picks up speed as it gets hotter and keeps it somewhat in check. HDMI out-place,and it's low cost.I'm poor so that's seriously not in the appropriate order. I got this for the HDMI out. It works some of the time.On second display I get flicker, regardless of which out place or monitor I use.So I have to swap monitor mapping back and forth. That's the very good portion. The HDMI out works when it wants to. MSI support has no clue how to assist. If the HDMI out worked all the time like it's supposed to I would give this card a five. For now a 2 is as high as I can go.

Inexpensive, silent, low energy draw, complete HDMI support, enough graphics horsepower to do what I needed it to. I was a unsure about getting a passively cooled GPU. Although the heatsink gets a small warm, it's constructed up my confidence in its capability to remain cool. So not genuinely a lot of a con when you boil it all down. I was waffling amongst a 4350 and a 5450 for my media center, the discount and rebate cinched it.

With the ฤ rebate supplied four months back, this was virtually no cost right after shipping! Performs nicely and has yet to bog down with almost anything i've used, which is largely 1-three year-old applications. Granted, i'm not a hardcore gamer or an A/V techie, but it has worked excellent for me. It worked perfectly when using the Pinnacle Dazzle DVC-100 video capture device with Studio ten...didn't bog at all, even following 2 non-stop hours of capture. The silence of the card is golden! Runs a little hot but therein lies the nature of passive cooling, which is heat dissipation by way of a heat sink. It is what it is...and what it IS NOT is a heavy duty graphics card. Don't obtain this card expecting it to maintain up with cards 5x it's price tag. You get what you spend for. Honestly, the most annoying portion of this purchase was waiting on the rebate, which DID sooner or later show up three months down the road. Nevertheless, MSI was true to their end of the bargain...and soon after the rebate was subtracted this card was virtually no cost. The card does exactly what's anticipated inside the listed spec range. I've however to overclock it due to the fact i've had no purpose to. Merely put, if the program your operating recommends a 512MB video card, this should work fine with out a glitch. Just don't anticipate to be running two screens of World of Warcraft in ultra-high resolution flawlessly. Yet again, it is what it is.

Affordable at the time, more affordable now. Got the rebate right after 3 months, but it arrived and the check didn't bounce. Card got hot and crashed repeatedly. Passive cooling can be OK if you have a large situation and excellent air transit. I attached a 40mm fan to the heat sink with a couple of sheet metal screws (between the fins). The heatsink is cool to the touch, freakin' cool !!! At the present price tag, with no cost shipping, and the rebate, it's ฟ for this hdmi card.

Does a great job on videos. Very good top quality DVD's are incredible total-sceen 񢀠x900) with sharpening set on 30 (de-noise off), and vector adaptive interlacing; player must be making use of hardware to activate the AVIVO stuff, like the sharpening. *Slightly* much less sweetening for inferior videos as a 46xx, but all of the sharpening. Doesn't do the dynamic contrast. AVIVO adjustments have no impact in Flash (web videos) in XP, but function in Win 7 32. I tried a geforce 240 and couldn't get the correct video adjustments to operate in Flash at all. Runs in the 50's C, but only reached near 70C in a sim, so it's secure (in Antec Solo). A slow 80mm fan suspended from a Zalman BR123 bracket cooled it to 32C.Some of the control panel adjustments take some experimenting. This would be for all 4xxx cards, and almost certainly the 5xxx cards. Some points perform differently in XP and Win 7. Use 10.ten driver in XP, *not* 10.6-ten.9. In Win 7 the desktop Gamma impacts the video also; XP video has its own Gamma adjustment. Discover a player that's employing the AVIVO ("hardware") and experiment. Panel adjustments for brightness and contrast for Monitor & Desktop may well/may not have an effect on the video. In Win 7, to set preserve aspect ratio for lesser resolutions, you must be in on I had to replace a 4670 with this and am very satisfied with the video top quality. Note that the AVIVO functions on some video but not others, according to the player and its settings. I maintain my AVIVO thusly: Color-use application settings; Advanced Color-unchecked; Vector Adaptive Interlacing; Pulldown-checked; De-Noise-off (but very good for noisy Tv); Enforce Smooth Playback-checked; Sharpening-varies. I made profiles for different levels of sharpening that I can get by correct-clicking the tray icon.Flash player ten.1 will use the AVIVO in Win 7 but not in XP, at least on my machine. Netflix in Silverlight won't use it. Win Media Player and Media Center in Win 7 will use it. In Nero ShowTime, you choose to use hardware acceleration and hardware deinterlacing; in Win 7 that's fine but in XP it may possibly be jumpy on some material -- my geforce 6600 was far worse. Don't know about VLC, Smplayer, etc. My Pinnacle Television card's computer software doesn't use it. itunes doesn't use it, but looks beautiful.

Excellent and low wattage. Passive cooling is cool. There may possibly be newer ones out but I like how I downgraded from an expensive video card but was nonetheless capable to get pleasure from good graphics for "light" gaming. Bought it last August and had it for practically a year now and it nevertheless operates nicely. Not that I know of. Would get yet again and essentially did lately buy an onboard ATI 4200 video card (that's integrated for a custom motherboard). Not the identical of course, as a 4200 is lower than a 4350, but seeing what it can do.

Really Low-costPlays L4D on high settings @ 50+fps (still surprised)QuietHDMI Output I'm not a fan of Passive cooling but it nonetheless works quite well and doesn't get as well hot. I read a lot of the other evaluations on this card and there are numerous individuals claiming this card has issues operating straightforward items. They most probably aren't using a big enough Energy Supply. Or they are also incompetent to read directions or they fail to make confident that the card will fit in their computer. I don't suggest on going just by newegg critiques to buy points. Most of the men and women who review are fools.

I needed a video card to boost efficiency over the on- board video and supply DVI and (eventually) HDMI hook-ups. This item was a excellent deal from New Egg and fits my requirements precisely. I am not a "gamer". With a handful of notable exceptions, Taiwanese producers are not known for their effortless to comply with documentation. MSI, even so, sets a new low, right here. The install plan failed to perform, so I spent hours on the net, attempting to uncover a manual for the card. I don't believe 1 exists, except for the two "quick get started" guides, included. These are a negative joke, advising to "turn off the pc, install the card, start the computer and use the enclosed CD. For the multilingual, this facts is repeated in 31 different languages! Trying to come across data on the included files and software programs is tricky and time consuming. Applying for the MSI rebate is slightly much more time intensive and involved than completing your federal revenue tax! Having said all this, the card functions effectively and again is a incredibly fantastic value, otherwise. I would have rated the item as a ř", had it not been for the awful documentation. In my 25 years of Computer and network knowledge, I can't recall something fairly like this! The card has a large heatsink with no fan, which is ok in some situations. Exactly where the card is mounted vertically in a "desktop" case, some air will move by means of the fins by convection. Mounted horizontally, heatsink down at the bottom of a tower case, affords tiny airflow, however, even in a significant cool-operating situation. I added a little fan and dropped the GPU temperature by 50 degrees. This further cooling will not change the overall performance significantly, but must extend the life of the card significantly. Some have noted that the memory chips do not speak to the heatsink. I think this is by style, since, with out a fan, the heatsink gets extremely warm. I suspect "shimming" the heatsink to get in touch with the memory will in most circumstances, raise the operating temperature of the memory chips!

It functions excellent on my Tiny Form Factor Dell Optiplex GX280 that I use for internet. Free shipping is awsome. I ordered on threeቲቦ and I got it delivered on threeታቦ because I reside just across the river from Newegg Secaucus wharehouse. Thank you really significantly Newegg! The low profile bracket included in the box doesn't have VGA port. Fortunately I have an further bracket from my other video card. This video card resolve my complications. I have an 1080p Toshiba 32RV525RZ and attempt to get a full screen with 1280x1024. If I connect my Computer using DVI-HDMI cable I got 1080p if I try to set to 1280x1024 I get letter box display. If I use a VGA cable then 1280x1024 is not supported. This video card solves my issue with a VGA cable. Now I can save a single of my HDMI for my DVD recorder and I can have complete-screen on the internet videos.

Driver installation went nicely even though I expected complications provided that you install the drivers following the physical card installation. Most drivers I've dealt with are installed just before and then windows finds the drivers as the product is detected as new hardware. It's a low profile card but, there wasn't enough space for me to keep my Television card because the cooling fins crowded out the Tv card utilizing my only 1 x PCI express slot. I under no circumstances watch Television on this Pc anyway but you'll want to measure the distance to the subsequent card slot. However, the dimensions aren't available on Newegg's or MSI's site which most likely suggests it varies based on the fin manufacturer they use. I don't want to open my personal computer up again to measure but, I would guess the depth to be 1.five" to 1.75".

Quiet, Great Cost, Low Power Consumption. Purchased this card to use HDMI to my LCD on my HP slimline media computer. Had to upgrade the PSU, but simply because this only expected 300W, I was in a position to obtain a TFX PSU from Newegg. Had to begin the system in Lo-Res mode to get it to boot, but it was a snap immediately after that, and Boxee looks a lot far better in HDMI than VGA. Can also get rid of my 2.1 Pc speakers now! Had to buy a new PSU. Not precisely PnP with the LCD.
