MSI Radeon HD 4350 R4350-MD512H Video Card
Comment:
Got this to add HDMI capability to my basic first develop, centered on a 780g card(since discontinued, natch) from AsRock. Not the latest & greatest stuff, but dual display (CCC) and aud/vid over HDMI work in both XP and Ubuntu, following some minor tweaking here & there.Fanless was the other key sell point for me. No additional noise, temperatures nominal (to paraphrase some Enterprising engineer) Doesn't plow the back forty. I see it supports some overclocking, but I don't come across it needed for my purposes. Not a gamer naturally.

MSI Radeon HD 4350 R4350-MD512H Video Card
Comment:
HP Slimline owners have a narrow range of options. The motherboard display adapter is satisfactory for word processing, but even mild video decode and it craters. 1 would like to put the baddest video card obtainable in the slot, but the slimline won't, supply the power, nor handle the heat, and most don't into fit the compact height anyway. This one card seems to be optimal - about as much horsepower as a slimline can support. And no fan - that's an advantage. As the failure rate of the card is really the failure rate of the fan - that is: the card fries when the fan stops. You don't want a fan! With the ATI card, the slimline ƒ.7GHz dual core AMD) does just fine with every single 1 of the 720p .mkv files I have and skips only rarely and slightly with a worst case busy 1080p IMAX movie. Mine came with a 1ǘ height bracket and switching over was a 5-minute job. Mounted the additional VGA connector in the adjacent slot (requires purchasing a bracket). I absolutely got my income's worth. Careful not to touch the heatsink when the power is on - it gets hot: 145 degrees! - Death Valley throughout a heatwave hot. Nevertheless it is the only heat source in that spot, as the card takes up both available slots. If you happen to be one who bought a slimline as a media center PC - you will have to give up the Television tuner to run this card. Bottom line: it still works fine and for the dollars with rebate - unbeatable. The setup routine needs a screen to acknowledge that it has started. As soon as you pick install or Setup there is a two minute wait till you know that the program is seriously run. A subtle clue is that the CD-ROM takes off and the disk gets frantic - but tough to tell on a subdued little slimline.

MSI Radeon HD 4350 R4350-MD512H Video Card
Cons:Low Windows 7 aero performance score

Pros:Price, low profile bracket included
Comment:
Upgraded daughters x1250 integrated graphics (asus m2a-vm) for a new LCD widescreen. Works fine, though gives a barely higher aero score in win7 from 3.4 to 3.7. Biz/gaming score is 5.8?? Googled it and many others report same.

MSI Radeon HD 4350 R4350-MD512H Video Card
Cons:besides not being a gaming card, nothing.

Pros:Inexpensive! Better than onboard graphics, decent Windows aero abilities, has HDMI, DVI and VGA ports! Its also incredibly quiet, there is no fan, just some heatsinks for passive cooling.
Comment:
Used this graphics card in a couple of basic inexpensive HTPC builds and it totally does the trick. Its completely silent, and doesnt seem to run hot with just passive cooling. It will handle basic 3d games, I was surprised it plays COD4 at 1024 decently. Its perfect for playback of HD movies and tv, you cant find a cheaper card that has HDMI, DVI and VGA ports included.

MSI Radeon HD 4350 R4350-MD512H Video Card
Cons:for what it is - none

Pros:Fanless, hardware HD acceleration, cheap.
Comment:
Decent small card for a htpc or office computer. Beats integrated graphics. It comes with a couple of different brackets allowing you to make it a half height card that will fit into a small htpc case. Not really meant for gaming, but if you really want it will run some older titles.
