It pretty significantly installs itself, and finds most of your drivers for you. I couldn't genuinely clarify how lame installing drivers all day is like, I run a laptop repair shop. Ultimate is just a blast, I have comprehensive control more than my pc, and my network. Windows Update is your buddy, use it nicely! Haha It is wonderful how considerably greater working with 7 ultimate is than Vista-something. None so far, given that I just built my new rig :P

great windows.. microsoft got this ideal.. sets up easily .. installed in 12 min on my corsair SSD. Has virtual windows XP mode.. can test any program and any malware maintaining your system safe!!! Hovering more than windows on the taskbar blows up everything, has TRIM for strong state drives, has a 64 bit version of world wide web explorer for rapid browsing.. microsoft has OEM pricing for technique builder (me)... a lot less costly 鳪 bucks). several other goodies built in... would be great if it was virus/rootkit/malware proof!!!!

XP Mode. Finally stuff that was lost is back, also numerous to list.More effective use of hardware sources with no sacrificing efficiency.Scan/Fax computer software is integrated.OEM a fantastic choice to save dollars compared to retail.Safely ejecting peripherals is much easier than it was in Vista.MS Paint is better, as are many things in the "Accessories".Wallpaper can be slide show.Media Center isn't buggy like it was in Vista.Wallpaper for login screen can be modified (see online) with no 3rd party software package. Some UI perks - like shake and peek plus quite a few other people.Considerably, a lot more stable and smooth beneath the hood - fixes a lot of Vista problems.A lot easier networking.Navigation is distinct, but possibly simpler for most.Far more accurate Windows Practical experience Index. The move to the "doc" rather of a taskbar appeases only Apple/Mac fanboys and is otherwise annoying in my truthful opinion. It takes some time with some net investigation to get the taskbar the way it needs to be, but it's not too challenging; following that points are great. You nonetheless get to keep the new attributes otherwise even with the move to older taskbar settings if you want. User Access Manage is nonetheless a pain in the tail. Up-a-level button still missing when navigating, but xp mode has it. PeerGuardian won't install! This is what Vista ought to have been. There are some cons, but XP mode fixes some of them.

Good item. The OEM version is the exact same as the retail version except a tad more affordable. The reviewer who returned this becuase he "needed a total version" clearly has no clue what an OEM version is. Microsoft has a solid winner with this OS. None No frills other than the OS. Comes in a plain Jane thin plastic disk case, that & cost is the only difference in this item.

Stable, ergonomically sound, easy to use, runs with minimal hiccups. Substantially less steep understanding curve than Linux (Mint / Ubuntu / other folks distros) for a complicated house networked setup. Really attractive UI. Good constructed in search function. Uncomplicated to network to other Windows computers as properly as wireless and wired printers and scanners. Some modest incompatibilities with Acrobat eight - there are function-arounds. High-priced. Extremely nice indeed. Fantastic Job Microsoft.

I like the fact that it can deal with everything you throw at it. Older devices and software, as effectively as the most up-to-date games and applications all work, so there's a thing to be stated for becoming the most widely utilised OS. In addition, Media Center is a enormous plus as I use it as my major Tv/PVR. On the whole, Windows 7 has been particularly stable for me. Too a lot of versions is confusing and they seriously really should lower the cost. Takes a lot of hard drive space even on a plain set up. I tried other operating systems, but only Windows 7 lets me watch/record HDTV, play the latest games, use the most potent hardware and run all types of inventive and productivity apps.

It's Windows 7. What can you say? It's windows 7. What can you say? First time I was unhappy with Newegg. I like the truth there was totally free shipping but I was expecting UPS. Nope it went by means of snail mail. No tracking what so ever. If I had identified that's the shipping Newegg was going to use I would have paid the extra few dollars for UPS shipping and tracking. I was lucky. It did arrive and inside a couple of days.

Better than Vista. I primarily use a Pc for gaming and casual use such as email, internet browsing, and so forth. I loathe Win7, it is not a lot superior than Vista. After many years of this c**p from Microsoft, i am lastly accomplished. I am going to Mac and spend my money with somebody else. It's not worth the hassle any more.

Set up was quick and painless (It installed all drivers for the duration of the install)Really quickcan now use all six gigs of my memory along with take benefit of the 64bit tech.Seems quite compatible with all of my apps Adobe mainly. some games are not compatible but thats what my XBox and Playstation 3 are for :) Some applications may not be compatible but mainly due to the 64 bit portion and not windows 7 I read a assessment earlier about this item that somone mentioned you would will need to get a new mother board and possibly a hard drive. I didnt know alot about Windows 7 but it just didnt seem proper to me. I did not will need something for the instalation of this solution. I will say it dose not format your drive you can use winPE to do this or you can just let the OS back your old files up. The instalation needs nothing a lot more then the DVD rom it comes on. Some systems might not set up all drivers but my paticuler technique was very good to go from the install. Wonderful OS anybody that says otherwise probally dont know considerably anyway.

Let me get this clear. I've been with windows for very some time. I started with 95, and have skilled just about every version aside from NT and ME. I don't remember significantly from my time with 95, but I spent really a bit with 98. Never had a lot of issues, except that my iPod wouldn't perform with it when I lastly got a single. I then moved onto 2000 Pro. Spent very a bit of time with it, and in truth liked it. It was very effortless to use. XP was the identical. I've only knowledgeable Vista lightly. I've also spent a lot of time with Linux, mainly Debian and Ubuntu/Kubuntu. But... when I produced the selection to place 7 on my computer system I knew I wanted to go all out and get the ideal version. And let me tell you....O.M.G.This is the very best operating system I feel has ever existed. I never skilled any difficulties with all of the earlier releases, but due to the fact I began with 7 I understand why Microsoft caught so a lot flak.7 is remarkable, I can't say enough good issues about it.It just works. Period. Every time I "miss" Linux I remember that 7 functions superior than Linux ever did for me. I just miss possessing Amarok. Just get it. If you can afford Ultimate, and your laptop or computer can deal with it it's worth every single dime. You won't be angry at your computer, atleast not Windows. You'll only be angry at applications for not utilizing accessible resources correctly. It's just superb. Takes hardly any time to boot. And only just operates.

A lot more stable than Vista even though becoming superior than XP, anything earlier is painfully slow. No additional wasted Desktop space considering that you can pin anything you use to the job bar. The only icon I have on my desk major is the wastebasket although I'm probably going to lock it into my Begin Menu somehow. I think somebody figured this bit out just have to locate the data. lolIntuitive search feature will allow you to find documents fast. Only 1 copy instead of a number of file copies for one document. Indicates much less wasted drive space and more quickly(up to technique specs) seek times for your HDD(s). Straightforward Disk Cleanup feature is even far better than XP. Ultimate comes with a lot of upside. Consists of a Zip system that pretty significantly handles anything thrown at it. Yes there are some items it can't do but there aren't a lot of.WordPad is WordLite. Has practically as quite a few functions as Word from what I can see. I'm certain that it lacks, but I haven't discovered substantially as a result far. So far the only Cons I can see are negligible. The only one I've run across is when intalling in a RAID setup. I have a Crosshair IV program that has a RAID driver that is expected prior to installation. It requires the use of a thumb drive(USB crucial for you technical types, lol) to install the driver. If you leave the drive in the USB socket and then attempt to install the OS, it will try to write to the USB. Of course if you have anything below 21 Gigs of space it will not take. Leaving one to scratch their head til it bleeds as to why the OS is not taking. Now picture those that have a 32 Gig Voyager or larger. Yeah. The OS is going to land on the Flashdrive and disappear when it's removed. So just be ready and pull your drive after you install the driver and everything must operate just fine. Type of wish the Developers had believed this via completely and wrote in some code to defeat that but...(cont. in other thoughts) it's not like the user won't ever figure it out. Also with SSDs' coming down in price, RAID systems(imho) will be fewer and fewer, as builders will have the OS drive(SSD) and install a significant storage drive to drop all the extraneous files and documents into. So that small hiccup didn't necessitate a dropped egg.Truly the only cause I would even contemplate a dropped egg is because Microsoft is possibly going to be dropping Win 8 on us in the subsequent year or two. Nonetheless I'm not gonna sweat that cause this OS does every little thing I want, only wish they would provide an upgrade pack via technique update that would charge you a little fee to install the missing attributes that Win 7 doesn't have. From what I've read there are only a few of those in improvement but that remains to be seen. Also ran into 1 other concern. If you have a netbook and wish to upgrade you can only do 32bit and it has to be the Upgrade package. I got the 64bit OEM and that's on me for the lack of forward thinking. lol

Windosw 7 Ultimate 64 beats Vista 32 hands down. I didn't even want to purchase an additional operating process from Microsoft soon after the Vista horror I went thru. "Do you seriously want to open Notepad?" (Exaggeration). This system simply works and doesn't get in your way. I like the Automobile Backup of Ultimate. I haven't tried Bitlocker as of nevertheless. Haven't found any nevertheless and I don't believe that I will. No issue with any 64 bit drivers at all. This is a fantastic strong operating process.
