No problems installing (on a PCIE 1. x16)QuietHDMI video and soundPlays Bluray Having some minor scaling issues on a 50 inch Sony Wega HDTV. There's about a .5 - 1 inch border on the screen and Catalyst won't let me adjust the scaling -- it's grayed out. I'll retain poking about to see if I can resolve this situation. For some cause when booting Win7-64, the windows animation doesn't display, but the progress bar does. Verdict nevertheless out: I replaced a nvidia G210 with this card because this one particular is quiet and it is capable of bitstreaming TrueHD. I've only had the 5450 for a quick although, but I sort of think the G210 had a far better image and with no the scaling issues. In the end, I may go get a passively cooled G210.Just a thought: Those people who are having issues installing on a non PCIE 2. motherboard may well have a PCIE x8 slot. I think the Powercolor 5450 program needs makes mention of a x16 lane PCIE slot. I have an ECS motherboard on an additional laptop and the specs especially state PCIE x8. If I replace or go back to my G210, I'll give it a try in the ECS and post back.

Bought two of these for a couple new systems I required to create. No fans = no worries about fan failure. Temps are very good too. I was shocked at how nicely it scored in Win7 x64's gaming rating - six.2! My intentions aren't to game with it but at this price point it would make a great spending budget gaming card! The Aero rating was five.1, still, something over 4 is smooth so nothing at all incorrect with that. Each cards worked out of the box, installation was easy, no PCI-E more power required either. Extremely handy. Assistance for three displays seriously tends to make this card worth the cash. None

NONE. Blank Screen! Blank Screen and Powercolor has horrible assistance (actually nonexistent). I have not received a return email from support (I sent first one particular a week ago, second 1 directly to the manufacturer make contact with who recommended contacting him directly in a customers prior post and 3rd one particular 3 days ago). Tech Help phone call just rings and when prompted for messages says you can not leave one. NO Support...Negative! This was on an older mobo like other people who had troubles (to negative I order prior to their posts), that I was trying to leverage as an HTPC given that I just built a new machine. Decent board existing enought to be very good for a vid card like this. Very DISAPPOINTED! I WILL BE SENDING THIS BACK. I would have provided eggs if I was allowed given that the tech support was non-existent. Manufacturer Response:What type of technique had been you plugging the card into? We're usually truly fantastic about answer our phones so I can't support but to assume that you may well have been calling for the duration of non-business hours (Mon-Fri 9am - 6pm PST). Regardless, e-mails shouldn't be going unanswered either. E-mail me straight and I'll be positive your situation gets taken care of. I consider it is a excellent card for the $ (with rebate pending...). It is a high quality card for it's purposes, and can even run new games if you are willing to sacrifice some top quality. I am old, as are my games; Counter Strike and Half Life two clearly don't challenge this card. This is a worth card and people today will score 10x higher than you on 3Dmark, but alas, you get your dollars's worth (I believe I scored 3350ish? with AMD Athlon II 435 (x3) and 4 gigs of ram on a gigabyte MB... ma770?. Runs hot! I read testimonials for several models that suggested it may possibly leading beneath 60c below load... I watched this powercolor model hit 85c 鳸f) soon after 3Dmark before I tweaked my airflow... Now with 70-110 cfm in and 98 - 138 cfm out I can nonetheless hit 80c even though testing... appears hot to me, even for the fanless model. Though I know numerous graphics cards run hotter, I was hoping this would be far more on par with the critiques (I bet they have a greater profile more efficient "passive fan"/heatsink rather than the lower profile powercolor version. I'm sitting at 60c idle now... was hoping this card would be 20c degrees cooler. If you want to game a lot get a gaming card... hopefully you aren't even reading this if it applies to you. We'll see how it does in the lengthy phrase... The temps, and my want to have greater graphics prospective than I would really use almost created me contemplate ordering anything much more game oriented, but I consider this was a excellent budget minded selection for an old foggy with old games.

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Comment:
It fit the slot, is quicker than the Motherboard's on-board graphics, and is quiet with no fan. I am running Chief Architect 9.5 on an Apevia box with XP Household 2002 SP3 32 bit OS and I bought the card to be able to use the computer software's style overview rendering with mouse manage spin-pan-zoom of the view, but the graphics are quite slow, the view moves in substantial steps when I attempt to rotate it, and the curser becomes and remains the tiny hourglass until the view finally stops. I can toggle to a incredibly low high quality graphics and get a a lot more controlled motion, but I expected this card to be considerably quicker given that it is also employed for gaming. I can get by making use of the ugly low excellent to rotate and then wait for it to repaint to the higher graphics, but it is an inconvenience. I had run this software program on a Shuttle XPC purchased in 2005, also running XP house SP3, with an ATI Radeon 9550 graphics card in an AGP slot, and the graphics worked quite well with instantaneous zoom and spin with the higher quality rendering on. However the Shuttle took to crashing every handful of minutes immediately after its case fan expired and had to be replaced, and I purchased the employed Apevia not too long ago to run the software program. Both have AMD Athlon 64 processors; the Shuttle's is a 3700+ and the Apevia's is a 3200+ and each have a gig of ram so I don't think the processor is the problem. Manufacturer Response:3D gaming (what these cards are developed for) is distinct than 3D rendering in productivity software. These cards aren't developed for that sort of work, and just since 1 certain model or generation 񣿎) is much better than a newer model, doesn't mean the newer model is inferior. You can get a 5870 that performs worse than a 4870 in certain software and it'll be simply mainly because of the way the software program functions. With that being stated, this card isn't developed for that. It's developed for light gaming and HD playback. I would advise checking with your software and going with some thing based off their recommendations. Thanks.-Hugo

Affordable, no fan=less noise and power use. Not very fantastic. I got it to replace my onboard graphics, and though the chip is supposed to be better, I have not seriously been in a position to notice any really serious improvement. Also, I was quite amazed at how challenging their mail in rebate was. It took me well over a half hour of perform, and the specifications have been so convoluted that I really feel there is a fantastic possibility they'll come back saying I didn't do it correct and don't get the rebate. I wouldn't acquire the card once again, contemplating the large quantity of effort for small payback.

* low-cost* passive cooling: there's no fan to get clog with dust-bunnies and die. * low energy-usage* quiet: there's no fan so it's not producing any noise.* fantastic image good quality on a CRT * not meant for games* Win7 and CRT problems: This concern is connected to how Win7 doesn't enable operation above 60Hz unless the display is passing full EDID. If you're making use of Win7 and a CRT, you'll will need to hack the EDID of your monitor to get it operating above 60Hz.

Help HD smoothly;Quiet;Extremely Inexpensive price tag;Low power consumption;HDMI interface Catalyst doesn't assistance resize the screen?!Negative position of the audio plug-in. I purchased this card to replace the alarm-clock-like noisy 9400 GS video card coming with my HP Pavillion M9300Z desktop. It doesn't disappoint me. With it, I can watch Blue-ray motion pictures in 32-bit color, no flicking. With the old 9400GS, I have to downgrade to 16-bit.The installation is effortless. Immediately after installing the driver, audio is automatically figured out.The only problem I have by now is to resize the display location. Right after altering the resolution to 1920x1080 -- connecting to a HDTV by means of HDMI, I saw that display area doesn't fill to the edge. I played with the driver -- Catalyst for really a though, didn't figure out how to enlarge it to fill up the screen.

Specs and form element are really promising to HTPC setup. No fan is excellent. So far it does not work in HP Slimline s3100y (IPILP-AR Locktite mainboard BIOS v5.07, PCIe 1. x16, 180w PS). Attempted in two s3100y's with comparable, negative benefits. Boot pulls 60w from the wall with out the card. Boot pulls 62w from the wall with the card. The Slimline does not even get to POST with the card installed. Place the card in a diverse box (Biostar mainboard) and it fired proper up. The card seems to be functional, just not in the Slimline. Hoping this is a shortcoming of the HP Slimline. I'm up for any very good ideas to get this card operating, if at all feasible, in the Slimline.

Low profile for these that need it. Wonderful HTPC video card. Does HDMI 1.3a with ease (full HD audio also). I use the HDMI and DVI at the very same time. Recognizes attached elements (Sony Tv, Yamaha Receiver) and knows their limits. Plays multiple kinds of HD content with out blinking, looks fantastic as well, 1080i Tv only even though so I could not test 1080p. Runs hot in my case 50-52C idle, 68-70C load. To me that is hot (only purpose for 4 stars as an alternative of 5)...specifically for cramped HTPC. At full load, HS is really hot, just about to burning your finger. Ambient is 27C. If I run my fans full boar (loud as plane taking off), then the temps keep at 48C idle, and 56C load. Heat sink is poorly produced imo, lots of milling marks, smaller as well (but want small for low profile clearly). When I did not use the VC fans, it peaked at 80-82C, but that is only with CPU,PS and HDD fans, no flow over VC, and not for an extended time frame. SUGO Case with 80mm intake blowing in on video, 80mm exhaust for other major fan. 120mm CPU fan blowing into 120mm PS fan. HDD fan is 80mm also. CCC ten.6 version. I was hoping that due to the fact it utilizes 40nm fab, that it would run cooler than my old 7600GT Single Slot Passive, but it truly runs slightly hotter. I dont play games with this card...this is not designed to. We will see about how well the rebate operates. Load: CPU᠀C, MB៺C, HDD(x3)=ㅢC. Use it in a machine with media portal.

Low power requirement and silent. Installation was straightforward and straight forward. Don't count on the rebate. The site did not allow me to "activate" my registration regardless of following instructions appropriately. So, no rebate for me. Care to attempt your hand at rebate roulette? Very good luck, you'll need it! Manufacturer Response:Please shoot me a direct e-mail (hugo@powercolor.com) and I'll try and figure out why you weren't capable to register your account. Gave my method a lot of extra power. Raised up Win practical experience up to 5. and six.2 in 3d. (from 2.6 with integrated!!!) Exceptional for HTPC, low profile, one particular slot. Can do even (not incredibly new) 3D gaming without any matters. No issues with installation or drivers. Depending on format of HDmovie, CPU load might drops from 80 to ten% Really, Quite HOT!!! has a incredibly little heat sink. and temperature when idle is 65C(under load quickly goes beyond 70C!!). Ambient temp.23C, MB᠁C, CPU᠅C. So, make sure you have a great airflow. For experiment I put a small fan on it temp. dropped down to 40C!!!!! Very good card all round, I can even play 3D games now(not Crysis)! Great for modest desktop -quiet and potent. Low profile! But really smaller radiator. I would think about purchasing some thing with a bigger a single if you want passive cooling in a very tiny situation, or make positive your situation fan makes a good airflow in the case.

This video card is basically incredible. At maximum power usage, it consumes 20 watts, has a single-slot style that is passively cooled(no fan!), can accelerate and apply image sharpening to 1080p video, can deinterlace 1080i making use of the finest(Vector Adaptive) algorithm currently available, and can bitstream Dolby TrueHD and DTS MA(the original unedited, uncompressed audio as it was recorded and present in a Blu-Ray) to a receiver. This video card is NOT developed for gaming. If you program on employing it for anything even remotely having to do with gaming, beyond playing casual games, do not buy this. A lot more high priced graphic cards such as(minimum) the 5550 from AMD or the GT240 from nVIDIA will be greater suited for that objective. I do NOT own this product. By virtue of becoming a computer system hardware enthusiast, and knowing the capabilities of this video card, I know that it is a single of the very best HTPC cards offered. No other video card has ever produced such a feature-rich choice of video-oriented capabilities offered in an entry-level product like this a single, all the though employing a passive(no fan!) cooling resolution. Whilst this unique model does not support this feature, HD 5450 models that have do not have a VGA output can connect up to three digital displays at the similar time, for a wrap-around desktop knowledge that 1 have to see to think. Please disregard critiques that give this video card a undesirable rating due to the fact it is underpowered. This video card was never meant to enable high high quality gaming, and it never presents itself in that light. It was designed to accomplish a specific objective(desktop and motion pictures), and it does that exceptionally well for its price tag. An absolute gem.

Only ordered it earlier nowadays, so cannot comment on the item. Relating to the rebate, prospective purchasers ought to know: Rebate type instruction ş: "Please register your rebate at our web page. ..." Soon after shopping for the video card I attempted to do this and learned:a) to register for the rebate you ought to develop a individual account to use the "services" on the website. First step in carrying out that is to agree to a Terms of Service agreement of more than 2500 words. Then you offer an e-mail address and the year of your birth;b) following all that you can register for your rebate. But don't try to do it the day of buy, as you will require to present the serial number of your card. The instructions do not mention either of these points.
