PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Comment:
Low profile compatible. Quiet with fair Blu-ray performance. I expected it to run a small hot due to the fanless design, but it seems a small hotter than I'm comfy with right after only a couple of minutes of Blu-ray playback. Though the framerate didn't appear to suffer much from this. It doesn't fit my Chenming case really effectively, but I got it to work without having breaking something. I don't take any eggs off for it's poor gaming performance simply because it's not created for gaming but I was dissapointed to discover that my onboard video card outperformed this one. (Mostly due to the overheating I belive). Also, for some reason Windows Vista 64 only sees this as a 𞴰 MB version but it clearly states it's a 512MB. This could not be the card's problem though. Overall not that poor of a card, specially for the price, but has failed to win me over.

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Comment:
For ำ soon after rebate, you can't be the efficiency and the price. So far I only play older DX9 and DX10 games run medium to high high quality @ 1280x1024 resolution. Not positive about DX11, but it's a spending budget card so I don't anticipate significantly. The 5450 is also faster than the Radeon 3450 hybrid-crossfire with a Radeon 3000 series IGP ࿰ streaming processors combined) setup. I noticed some improvement in performance in DX10 and most of the DX9 games run flawlessly with High High quality settings. This is a very good card if you are a casual gamer or play a few games each and every so frequently. It also makes use of much less power than hybrid-crossfire.Newegg.com may possibly as nicely relabel their 3-day or common shipping as next day, since everytime I have ordered something that was situated in their NJ warehouse, I literally obtain it the next day (well except for snow storms or I am not property for the UPS dellivery). Newegg.com ROCKS!!!!!! None seriously, but if you are a difficult core gamer I wouldn't recommend this. It also does not support overclocking at the present moment, so that's somewhat of a minus if you want to get a little bit of extra efficiency; other than that, I can't feel of any other cons. Apparently this small card can also perform direct compute and manage some of the video editing functions in HD, but it is computer software dependent. I will almost certainly by no means go beyond a 19 or 20 inch monitor (currently use a 17 inch), so it is likely I will never have to worry about gaming anything higher than 1280x1024 or the wide-screen equivalent 񡿬x900).Also, according to Neweggs.com specs, this card needs a 400w Power Supply; however, when I checked the box it stated 350w minimum in very fine print. I have a 350w power supply, so this ended up becoming a very good fit for my method setup.1 last thing, I have accomplished a lot of analysis between the 5450 with DDR-2 and the 5450 DDR-3; I would highly suggest the DDR-3 from all of the reviews that I have study, due to DDR-three having greater bandwidth than the DDR-2. The 5450 makes use of 64-bit memory and this causes bandwidth limitations (lower performance than 128-bit and above), so that is why DDR-three memory versions is a much better choice.

Comment:
nice card, plays well with a different existing pcie two. motherboard. won post on the ecs 945gct-m񳄥 motherboard. tech support says that this is a pcie two. card that is not compatible with their pci-e 1. motherboard. as far as i know pcie 10 is backward compatible with two. and will still function working with the availabe bandwidth. absolutely nothing stated in the listing about the hd5450 not working in a pcie 1. motherboard.not sure who to blame here.. but annoying as hell.if its not going to function/beyond specs - state it. 2 eggs for it working fine with yet another board that i utilized to make sure it wasnt doa. time for a rma. Manufacturer Response:I'm investigating to see if there's in truth a compatibility problem between this model and ECS motherboards. Like I mentioned in an additional review, I tested internally on two diverse PCI-E 1.1 based boards (AMD 690V, and Intel P35) and both worked flawlessly. I also tried a couple of cards in a PCI-E 1. system (VIA PT880Pro chipset) and it worked just fine as well. I'm going to see if I can do some more analysis concerning your model board. In the meantime, feel cost-free to e-mail me and I'll be additional than pleased to help. Thanks.-Hugo

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Cons: Low-end card, so low-end card weaknesses - not very powerful

Pros: Quiet fanless, low power, great for less intense gaming / multimedia uses
Comment:
This card is great for a HTPC as it is quiet, fanless and has quite the low profile. My motherboard is quite old and it works just fine. The options for DVI, VGA and HDMI out are great, makes switching displays easier.

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Cons: mail in rebate

Pros: Silent. low profile, relativly cheap
Comment:
Bought this for an HTPC build and it has lived up to it has expectations. Nice to have a totally silent video card for a change. Hopefully the maill in rebate shows up soon. Let's face it, cards like this are probably only worth 30 or 40 bucks brand new anyway. Anyhow, if you want a low profile, silent card for regular PC duties, this is a good choice.

Used it in a budget build for my parents. Just needed a basic GPU since my i5 750 didn't support onboard graphics. This worked perfectly. It's small, fanless/silent, no extra power cables needed, runs right off the pci-e slot.

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Cons: Powercolor Brand, Rebate processor, ATI Drivers

Pros: Silent, Low Power Usage, Low Profile Bracket
Comment:
I bought this to add a video card to my girlfriends Dell Inspiron 530 system. For whatever reason, the Nvidia 210 we bought never worked in it. Kept doing an infinite reboot after driver install. So if you're stuck in the same boat, this card works, and works well. The nice thing about this card is that it's fanless, most of the cheap cards in this range, usually the fan goes fast so you get into heat issues and card failure. In that respect, that is a plus in this card. The downsides, I don't know much about Powercolor as a company (not as high as evga, XFX) and their rebate system doesn't seem to be very informative to keep track off. I submitted ASUS and Corsair rebates at the same time, and they were already received and approved. Powercolor just showed it was generated.Other than that, this is still a great price without the rebate. The current generation does very well for various video decoding, which she wanted this for--her asian shows and anime. Another thing, don't give this negative points because of bad Linux experience. That is totally dependent on the driver implementation, not the card/hardware itself. If you want better Linux support, use an Nvidia card.

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Cons: May be incompatible with older systems

Pros: Fanless, cheap, small form factor
Comment:
Bought this card to replace the nVidia 6200 card in my 4 y.o. HP desktop. Tried to install it but the system wouldn't even boot! Ended up using it in my Dell Vostro 220 (about 2 y.o.) which is used at my HTPC. Installed fine in Vista x86 and then Win 7 x64. Basic graphics for Windows Aero is a bit slow, 3. compared to high 5s and lows 6s for everything else in the system. What I did was take the Sapphire Radeon 4570 card out of my 300W p/s Dell Vostro 220 (about 2 years old) and put it into the HP a1720n (4 years old - either 250 or 300W). That combo worked fine and it's running fine in Vista x86. Will install Win 7 x64 tomorrow.Put the 5450 into the Dell Vostro and it booted up without having to change drivers (since both used the same, nominally). That's now running WIn 7 x64 just fine. So looks like there was some incompatibility.

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Cons: Unsatisfactory video acceleration with any Linux Distro.

Pros: Passive cooled, if could work with Linux would be a great choice for a Home Theater PC, Although, it is OK for static image.2D Video worked as expected with Windows XP.
Comment:
If you intend to install using Linux, and expect watch video with it, it is all about frustration. Do a favour to yourself; DO NOT BUY, check hardware compatibility before! The 2D acceleration for video is choppy. I've tried diverse Linux distros and diverse players since I purchased last July (VLC, Mplayer, totem...) and none of them showed a satisfactory 2D acceleration so forth. Therefore, my on bord Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H I purchased here displayed a fully pleasant 2D video and audio experience.

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Cons: Under powered for games

Pros: Passive coolingHD audio bit streaming
Comment:
This is a great HTPC card that is passively cooled so it does not generate any noise and being a Radeon HD 5000 series card, it can do HD audio bit streaming. It comes with a low profile bracket for use in small cases and the heatsink also does not spill over into the PCI slot below. I also PM'd this down to $40 and then just didn't bother with the MIR. It's not really worth the effort.Don't expect to play games with everything turned up. This is not it's intended purpose. This card exists for it's HDMI output.

Pros: Price, 1080p playback support
Comment:
I bought this for my HTPC that already had an HDMI output because it had audio issues, so i swapped motherboards with my other computer and put this card in for the HDMI and 1080p play back capability. I got it on sale at NCIX about two months ago, still waiting for the rebate though... i think it was $45 BEFORE the $10 rebate... so im still waiting for the $10 rebate...

PowerColor Go! Green Radeon HD 5450 (Cedar) AX5450 512MK3-SH Video Card
Cons: Stock Heatsink

Pros: CheapLow ProfileSilentHDMI with audio!
Comment:
I purchased this to upgrade my HTPC to finally have HDMI. This card was on sale for $44 so I can't complain about the price! Installation is straightforward, and the card does include a low profile bracket if you have a low profile case (you have to remove the VGA plug though). My main concern was with the heat that this card generated. At idle, the temperature in the Catalyst control center was 51C and under load (created using ATITool 0.26 3D test), the card climbed as high as 71C!To help this little furnace, I decided to install a Zalman VF900-Cu I had previously installed on an older 7600GT. Removing the stock heatsink was a breeze, just 4 spring-loaded clips and it pops right off.I cleaned up the GPU and the Zalman, gave it a fresh application of Arctic Cooling MX-2 TIM and installed the VF900-Cu.Night and day is about the best description I can come up with for the temperature change. With the Zalman installed and the fan running at MINIMUM (completely inaudible), the card temperatures were 27C at idle and 31C under load after half an hour! With the fan cranked up to maximum, which becomes a bit noticeable, temperatures were 26C at idle and 29C under load.As an experiment, I unplugged the fan from the Zalman to see what kind of difference the heatsink alone would make. The idle temperature was 39C and load was 46C! THe load temperature was still 5C below the idle temperature using the stock heatsink! So in conclusion, running this card with the Zalman VF900-Cu VGA heatsink instead of the stock heatsink results in a 25C drop  in temperatures without the fan and a 40-42C drop  with the ran. The 20C difference from idle to load really shows the poor heat dissipating ability of the stock heatsink compared to the 3-4C difference with the Zalman. So from what I have seen, this card is a cheap HDMI add-on for any HTPC, but the stock heatsink will surely heat up your system, unless you do swap it with something better.

Cons: none

Pros: Silent, Cheap
Comment:
I bought this as an upgrade for my X800XL so its a massive improvement. I use it mostly for media and some light gaming. along with all my general PC needs. it performs all of those functions adequately including Starcraft II on my HD TV, medium settings showed a little lag but its not meant to be a hardcore gaming card so I can't put that down as a weakness. All in all a great purchase.
