Great Product
Comment:
This is a great product, especially for the price. The install was very easy, all ports worked just as they are supposed to. Anyone could install this with ease. Faceplate was also easy to change out. I would definitely buy again! Best card reader I've ever bought!

Well, it partly works

Bought this for the sd card reader and the extra usb port. The sd cards read fine, but the usb does not work. Trying to decide if it's worth the bother of sending back. Notice that many of the card readers in this price range ($10-$20)look exactly the same except for the writing on the front panel... wonder if these are all really made by the same company...

I use Compact Flash I, Micro SD, and XD cards, so I bought two of these card readers a couple of years ago and just bought another one a couple weeks ago. All three installed and continue to work with no issues with the media I have. All three readers are on Windows XP computers. The units are Plug-n-play; no instructions or manual or 3rd-party drivers were required. Oddly the minimum system requirements state a floppy interface is required but my units came with only a single USB header connector cable that plugs onto the motherboard. No other plugs or cables were needed.

I found this unit easy to install. The USB pin connector matches the USB pin header so installation was quick, easy and simple. Device works like a charm. My bios even see the device as many storage devices... Great Product absolutely no issues...

Terrible Product
Comment:
Having purchased almost 50 products from TigerDirect, this is the first time I have ever been disappointed. I bought this to add to a quad-core barebones kit also purchased from Tiger. Installation was a breeze. Unfortunately, I only used the USB port on the device during the 90 day warranty. When I finally attempted to use the reader for a standard SD card, it wouldn't read. I called tech support, and they basically said there wasn't anything they could do because the product was out of warranty. Furthermore, neither a driver nor a manual exist for this product - I asked. I purchased another brand for $20 (with a one year warranty) and am 100% satisfied with it. BOTTOM LINE: SPEND A FEW EXTRA BUCKS AND BUY SOMETHING ELSE. THIS THING IS JUNK.

Handy little mod!
Comment:
I initially bought this to install in a PC I use at church, but its motherboard didn't have the correct ports, so I installed it into a PC I'm building. Its a lot cooler looking and more functional than the floppy drive ever was. Note: You'll need a 9 pin USB plug in on the motherboard; SD cards go in upsidedown; and there are no drivers to worry about!

Installed in minutes with no hassle on my Windows 7 machine. I have used it with Memory Stick and SD card and it worked every time. Only complaint is that it is hard to read small labeling by slots identifying which is which. At $12.99 I couldn't ask for more though

bought this so I could load maps on my GPS memory cards. I'm not a IT guy and the install was easy. The only trouble I had was with the drivers. As someone mentioned before sure would have been nice if they would have provided all the necessary programs to install this. I did manage to get it up and running.. works great.

Been trying to install this reader writer most of the day with no luck. I'm no IT expert but believe I'm following directions correctly. Their directions state, Installation of the flash card reader is extremely simple and is fully USB plug and play. Then, in another part of the directions, they state, User has to install the driver setup for the Internal Card Reader first. After completing device driver setup... Shut down the system... Guess I need to do a little homework as I thought driver installation was part of the plug and play process? And if driver installation is necessary, I would think they would provide the drivers on their web site, which does not appear to exist.

Quit working
Comment:
I installed this shortly after a new PC build. I had trouble booting the machine with it installed. I thought my connection was wrong but that wasn't it. Eventually it started to allow me to boot OK and worked But now I noticed my machine booting really slow so I unplugged the connection to the Motherboard and machine booted normally. The usb port worked but all the other card reader ports are dead. XP kept giving me an error

Item works perfectly for me. Only problem I had was that it sticks out of the case with the drive bay adapter that I have but hopefully I will have that fixed with a 3.25 to 5.5 bay adapter that I ordered. For the price, nothing can be better!
