Haven't tested every single one of the ports, but the USB port works as well as the SD port. The USB ports also work with devices that get their power via USB.

I bought this reader because I wanted a clean card reader, without fan controls, or other cosmetic junk... I loaded a CF card for it's first run... It downloaded the photos, and then the little red light in it's eyes went out, and it died dead right there - Nice looking, but at $14 to download 16 photos, not a good deal. I bought another brand as an outboard reader, and it is bullet proof.

The card reader is good for its price, haven't tried the USB yet because my tower has two on top, and 6 at the back so I haven't gotten around to it, but the card reader works great.

Easy to install, works right out of the box with my Zotac MB. Just be aware you need an empty (spare) USB header on the MoBo for this unit. Many of the smaller MoBos have only one header for the front USB panel with no spare for the card reader, so you have to choose which one you want to set up. Other than that, no worries!

This card reader worked just fine right out of the box. The last card reader I bought was defective and couldn't read CF cards, but this one reads them fine. This reader does support SDHC, but doesn't have a microSD slot like some others. I haven't been able to benchmark the performance since I don't have any high-speed cards.

I wanted a card reader in my computer because I was tired of all the proprietary cables that came with all my devices. When I came across this, I couldn't believe the price as most of the 5.25" sell for $40. I haven't been using all types of cards since I don't have them but memory stick and USB work just fine. Perfect deal for the money.

Great product! For those who doesn't know how to insert xD cards, you have to insert them upside down into the SMC slot.

It has been two months now and I cannot get full performance out of these units. The media card readers fail after a few uses. I have purchased 3 units so far and installed them on 3 different machines and the results are the same: the USB port works like a charm but the media card reader works once or twice then will no longer read a card when inserted. from that point on you must insert the desirned card and reboot the computer, only then will the reader be picked up by the computer. the next time you reboot however the reader is gone (unless you have a card installed) it is a pain. The fact that I have the same problem with all 3 units and the fact that I have tried each of them on 3 different systems(some older, some new builds) leads me to believe this is a design flaw and not just a defective unit.
